I urge everyone to watch PBS's Faces of America with Louis Gates Jr. on Wednesday, February 10th-March 3rd. It's from 8-0pm ET. This is a program about the dna of all of us. You'll have to check for times in your area. It will discuss the family history of several famous people like Meryl Streep, Yo Yo Ma, Mario Batali, and even Elizabeth Alexander the poet who is connected to the king of England by going into their genealogy and why they came to the United States.
There is a fairly new procedure being done now with a company called 23andMe.com that is quite different from the company I go with in finding out what haplogroup our family belongs to. It can also test what diseases you have a possibility of getting among other things. It may be discussed on this program, I'm not sure. I'll be sure to watch this program with pencil and paper at hand.
