Our Musical Israelis; What Happened in a Hadassah Hospital in Israel

Nadene Goldfoot
"Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, is a volunteer organization that inspires a passion for and commitment to its partnership with the land and people of Israel."  It was founded by Henrietta Szold in 1912.The Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) is one of the world's leading institutions in healthcare. Comprised of two medical facilities in Israel – the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center at Ein Kerem and the Hadassah University Hospital at Mount Scopus – HMO places great emphasis on clinical and scientific research with the aim of advancing and improving medical care.

Listen and watch a flashdance that was performed there as listed below on utube.

This Sara Wetsman Davidson Tower  in Jerusalem is a 19-story structure (five floors below ground and 14 floors above ground) with 500 beds, 20 operating rooms, a 60 intensive care beds and the ultra-modern Heart Institute.

It has expanded Centers of Excellence: Invasive Angiography, Immune- mediated Disorders, Minimally Invasive Surgery and Computerized Assisted Surgery, Cell Therapy, and Molecular Medicine
Trailblazing research to realize the promise of stem cell treatment and unlock the mysteries of heart disease, cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease
Gene therapy, advanced imaging in operating rooms, robotics and computer- guided surgery, cutting-edge monitoring and telemedicine.

This tower has been Hadassah's project.  Our mothers and grandmothers helped build the State of Israel and started Hadassah. Now it is our generation's, our children’s and grandchildren’s responsibility to fulfill this dream. We were confident that when we stood together on the bridge in 2012 and beheld our glorious accomplishment, we were overwhelmed with pride.

For nearly 100 years Hadassah has set the standard for healthcare in the Middle East. Today, the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower is the largest building project in Israel. Tomorrow it will touch countless lives with the precious gifts of health and hope.
