Minnesota, that northern state full of Scandinavian descendants, just voted in "Ilhan Omar, a Muslim Somali-American elected last week to replace outgoing Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.) in the Minnesota House. She was born in 1981, married and mother of 3 children, who spoke nicely of Jews when running and wasn't broadcasting her feelings about Israel and BDS, but has turned against Israel immediately after winning the election.
Omar was against the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement during her campaign, "After winning election, she now says she "supports the BDS movement." That's what we call being 2-faced!
Now we know that she supports boycotting, divestment from and sanctions against Israel.
"Somalia, a Sunni dominant nation and a member of Arab League." In 2017, the president of Somalia refused to meet with Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, on his trip to visit in Kenya. "Hamas’ Izzat Al-Rishq also thanked the Somali president’s position which he said “reflects the authenticity of the brotherly Republic of Somalia in standing with Palestine and rejecting any normalisation with an entity which occupies land and holy places.”
To those of us who read history, this is nothing but propaganda from Hamas which is made up of lies. The Hamas terrorists, also Sunni Muslims, have never held land before Israel was created in 1948 no matter what name they were under then, as the PLO or whatever, The land is the land of the Bible, land ruled by King Saul, David and Solomon and others, going back to before David's rule of 1010 BCE. That's going back over 3,000 years that this land has been known to be Jewish land and any holy places held by Muslims has been treated with respect by Israel who can't say the same about their holy places when in the hands of the Muslims. The Muslim Palestinians have sworn since 1967 at the Khartum Conference in Sudan, Africa to the 3 NO's, (no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with it...") and No has been their answer to any meeting ever held in trying to reach a peace agreement with Israel.
"Omar was born in on October 4, 1981, in Mogadishu and was raised in Baydhabo, Somalia. She was the youngest of seven siblings. Ilhan's father, Nur Omar Mohamed, is a Somali, and worked as a teacher trainer. Her mother was a Benadiri, and died when Omar was a child. She was thereafter raised by her father and grandfather. Ilhan's grandfather, Abukar, was the director of Somalia's National Marine Transport, with her uncles and aunts also working as civil servants and educators. After the start of the civil war in 1991, she and her family fled the country and spent four years in a refugee camp in Kenya."
By 1995, her family immigrated to the USA and settled in Arlington, Virginia when Ilhan was 14. To be elected into the Minnesota's House at age 31 is probably pretty normal for women today, but Ilhan has been Americanized for the past 23 years, coming here at age 14, a teenager. She doesn't seem to see the wrong in saying one thing and then going against what she ran on with a 180 degree turn-about because she has executed such an action brazenly.
She, like other Americans, had been beating the drum for the 2-state solution to the problems involving Israel and the Palestinians who are divided into 2 camps, the old PLO terrorist group now referred to as the PA (Palestine Authority) who live in Judea-Samaria wrongly called THE WEST BANK as Jordan named it when they held the land from 1948 to 1967, and the Hamas terrorists who have taken over Gaza since their 1st election urged by former president Obama. " she told a group of Jewish voters in the state that she opposed the economic boycott of Israel, calling it "counteractive" and "not helpful in getting that two-state solution." In an interview published Sunday by MuslimGirl, Omar said she "supports the BDS movement."
A little reading would have opened up the eyes of some Minnesotans about her stand towards Israel. "Omar has been critical of the Israeli government, referring to it as "the apartheid Israeli regime," asserting that Israel has "hypnotized the world" to overlook the aerial bombardment of civilians, which she characterized as "evil doings,]" recommending that the University of Minnesota divest from Israel bonds, and criticizing a law intended to prohibit the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. Accused of antisemitism by a few right-wing critics, she has responded that her criticism of some of the Israeli government's actions in no way implies hatred of Jewish people: “These accusations are without merit,” she said. “They are rooted in bigotry toward a belief about what Muslims are stereotyped to believe.”
Oh no, she says all sorts of anti-Semitic statements and then calls people bigots of what Arabs believes. Well,
Israel does have about 20% of Arab citizens as well, and many are Muslims. They've had problems, a lot of problems with them, and hopefully they're all learning to live together in peace today. It's been worse.
I just can't buy this. Israel is the one and only Jewish state in a world made up of 48 majority Muslim states. Israel was created by the League of Nations and the United Nations as a Homeland for the Jewish People. The government is a Jewish government and we've had a running problem with Muslims ever since 1947 when the UN voted to have a Jewish state. We've had wars with the neighboring Muslims states, and since then the wars are called by other names such as Inifadas, etc. Right now Jews have been living in bomb shelters while almost 500 rockets, and mortars were short into southern Israel and that since the Gazans were busy burning Israelis fields and forests with flying fire kites. For 70 years and more, Israel has been fending off the no's and the rockets, mortars and even missiles from their Muslim Palestinians which has even involved some of the Christian Arabs as well, no doubt. It's been anti-Semitism forever, with the age old problem of Arabs wanting the Jewish lands when they saw the Jews wanted it.
At an August candidates forum held in a synagogue during the last week of the 2018 primary campaign, she said a boycott of Israel is not helpful in working toward a two-state solution, and that "it is going to be important for us to recognize Israel's place in the Middle East and the Jewish people's rightful place within that region." That was only said to gain votes and it worked.
By the way, President Trump, after seeing the past 70 years of his 71 one years putting in lost efforts in trying to bring about a 2-state solution on people living in the Middle East by outsiders, has already decided that the 2 parties have to decide on such a conclusion if that is to end their conflict, and they can't come to such a conclusion. Why is this 31 year old who hasn't probably read any of our history other than her own Muslim propaganda beating the issue to death with forcing BDS on Israel, which is just another bullet in the enemy's arsonal? Why is anyone?
What's that rule about insanity? "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." Well then, Trump is one leader who is not the insane one. Supposedly, Albert Einstein said this. Or how about this one: "“If you always do what you’ve always done, you always get what you’ve always gotten.” That was the advice of Jessie Potter, the featured speaker at Friday’s opening of the seventh annual Woman to Woman conference.
A 2-state solution is laughable at this point in time. Continual pushing for it after 70 years is insane. Already, the Palestinians are divided in land and in thought with 2 different leaders who disagree with each other, both fighting over power. The land itself is so small that it has actually been divvied up many times already. Originally, 80% of the Jewish Homeland was given away to Jordan by England who had held the mandate for Palestine for 30 years. The 20% left-over for the Jews has been cut into 3 pieces now; Judea-Samaria (original Jewish Israel) called West Bank, and Gaza and Israel. What is today's Israel is a speck of land on ex-President Bush's Texas ranch. It's pathetic. It's up to the 2 people involved; the Jews of Israel and the Palestinians who are the squatters on the land who need to decide how to live. Other couch potatoes from distant lands could get busy and read some history, then need to either share something positive and helpful or just take care of their own problems. The last thing is to join a group who don't know what they are talking about and beat the drums with them. This shows that too many politicians are just followers and not leaders.
And a former Somalian wants to make sure it's divided into 2 state solution made up of Muslims who have been brain-washed to hate Jews for generations. I can't think of anything less friendly. Evidently it's the in thing today to be an immigrant of color and young female but not have a good political background on your adopted new government's friends. "Omar received the largest percentage of the vote of any female candidate for U.S. House in state history, as well as the largest percentage of the vote for a non-incumbent candidate for U.S. House (excluding those running against only non-major-party candidates) in state history." What's happened to all those sharp Scandinavian descendants living in Minnesota?
