Iran's New Threat; It's Nuclear Program and Obama

Iran is having presidential elections in June 2009 and is suffering in the dire economic world situation, including inflation. There's a possibility that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad might not be reelected. His one possible competition is the former president Mohammad Khatami who isn't in the race as yet. Their current government uses oil revenues to help the poor, so things are not as bad as before the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Iran heard that Israel might attack Iran's nuclear reactors. Israel might do this preemptive strike because Iran has threatened Israel's existence. Though Iran has said that its nuclear project is for peaceful purposes from one side of their mouth, the other side has called for the end of Israel in no uncertain terms, so of course both Israel and the USA feel Iran has ulterior motives in progressing with these reactors.

Iran said they were planning on a preemptive strike against Israel to prevent an Israeli attack. They're going to preempt a preempt. If USA decided on a preemptive strike, Israel alone would be blamed and hit, according to Dr. Seyed G. Safavi, VIP and adviser to Ali Khamenei.

If Obama wins the USA elections, they know they will have dialogue in Washington. They feel that US sanctions on Iran are coming to an end. Tehran is ready to demand "firm and significant" US measures in return for stopping uranium enrichment.

Could this be what Joe Biden just referred to that Obama will soon be tested if he wins? Very possibly. I can imagine what Iran wants from Obama in their "firm and significant" demands if they are involving Israel.
