Democrats in Minnesota Voted In a BDS Advocate

Nadene Goldfoot
Newly elected House Rep in Minnesota,

A community nutrition educator at the University of Minnesota, working in that capacity from 2006 to 2009 in the Greater Minneapolis–Saint Paul area. In 2012, she served as campaign manager for Kari Dziedzic's reelection campaign for the Minnesota State Senate. Between 2012 and 2013, she was a child nutrition outreach coordinator at the Minnesota Department of Education.

Minnesota, that northern state full of Scandinavian descendants, just voted in  "Ilhan Omar, a Muslim Somali-American elected last week to replace outgoing Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.) in the Minnesota House.  She was born in 1981, married and mother of 3 children, who spoke nicely of Jews when running and wasn't broadcasting her feelings about Israel and BDS, but has turned against Israel  immediately after winning the election.

Omar was against the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement during her campaign,  "After winning election, she now says she "supports the BDS movement." That's what we call being 2-faced!
Now we know that she supports boycotting, divestment from and sanctions against Israel.

"Somalia, a Sunni dominant nation and a member of Arab League."  In 2017, the president of Somalia refused to meet with Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, on his trip to visit in Kenya.  "Hamas’ Izzat Al-Rishq also thanked the Somali president’s position which he said “reflects the authenticity of the brotherly Republic of Somalia in standing with Palestine and rejecting any normalisation with an entity which occupies land and holy places.”

To those of us who read history, this  is nothing but propaganda from Hamas which is made up of lies.  The Hamas terrorists, also Sunni Muslims, have never held land before Israel was created in 1948 no matter what name they were under then, as the PLO or whatever, The land is the land of the Bible, land ruled by King Saul, David and Solomon and others, going back to before David's rule of 1010 BCE.  That's going back over 3,000 years that this land has been known to be Jewish land and any holy places held by Muslims has been treated with respect by Israel who can't say the same about their holy places when in the hands of the Muslims.  The Muslim Palestinians have sworn since 1967 at the Khartum Conference in Sudan, Africa to the 3 NO's, (no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with it...") and No has been their answer to any meeting ever held in trying to reach a peace agreement with Israel.

Political unrest in Somalia

"Omar was born in on October 4, 1981, in Mogadishu and was raised in Baydhabo, Somalia. She was the youngest of seven siblings. Ilhan's father, Nur Omar Mohamed, is a Somali, and worked as a teacher trainer. Her mother was a Benadiri, and died when Omar was a child. She was thereafter raised by her father and grandfather. Ilhan's grandfather, Abukar, was the director of Somalia's National Marine Transport, with her uncles and aunts also working as civil servants and educators. After the start of the civil war in 1991, she and her family fled the country and spent four years in a refugee camp in Kenya."

By 1995, her family immigrated to the USA and settled in Arlington, Virginia when Ilhan was 14.  To be elected into the Minnesota's House at age 31 is probably pretty normal for women today, but Ilhan has been Americanized for the past 23 years, coming here at age 14, a teenager.  She doesn't seem to see the wrong in saying one thing and then going against what she ran on with a 180 degree turn-about because she has executed such an action brazenly.

She, like other Americans, had been beating the drum for the 2-state solution to the problems involving Israel and the Palestinians who are divided into 2 camps, the old PLO terrorist group now referred to as the PA (Palestine Authority) who live in Judea-Samaria wrongly called THE WEST BANK as Jordan named it when they held the land from 1948 to 1967, and the Hamas terrorists who have taken over Gaza since their 1st election urged by former president Obama.  " she told a group of Jewish voters in the state that she opposed the economic boycott of Israel, calling it "counteractive" and "not helpful in getting that two-state solution." In an interview published Sunday by MuslimGirl, Omar said she "supports the BDS movement."

A little reading would have opened up the eyes of some Minnesotans about her stand towards Israel.  "Omar has been critical of the Israeli government, referring to it as "the apartheid Israeli regime," asserting that Israel has "hypnotized the world" to overlook the aerial bombardment of civilians, which she characterized as "evil doings,]" recommending that the University of Minnesota divest from Israel bonds, and criticizing a law intended to prohibit the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. Accused of antisemitism by a few right-wing critics, she has responded that her criticism of some of the Israeli government's actions in no way implies hatred of Jewish people: “These accusations are without merit,” she said. “They are rooted in bigotry toward a belief about what Muslims are stereotyped to believe.”

Oh no, she says all sorts of anti-Semitic statements and then calls people bigots of what Arabs believes.  Well,
Israel does have about 20% of Arab citizens as well, and many are Muslims. They've had problems, a lot of problems with them, and hopefully they're all learning to live together in peace today.  It's been worse.

Tiny Jewish Israel encircled by Muslim States
All having tried to force Israel into the sea of oblivion.

I just can't buy this.  Israel is the one and only Jewish state in a world made up of 48 majority Muslim states.  Israel was created  by the League of Nations and the United Nations as a Homeland for the Jewish People.  The government is a Jewish government and we've had a running problem with Muslims ever since 1947 when the UN voted to have a Jewish state.  We've had wars with the neighboring Muslims states, and since then the wars are called by other names such as Inifadas, etc.  Right now Jews have been living in bomb shelters while almost 500 rockets, and mortars were short into southern Israel and that since the Gazans were busy burning Israelis fields and forests with flying fire kites.  For 70 years and more, Israel has been fending off the no's and the rockets, mortars and even missiles from their Muslim Palestinians which has even involved some of the Christian Arabs as well, no doubt.  It's been anti-Semitism forever, with the age old problem of Arabs wanting the Jewish lands when they saw  the Jews wanted it.

At an August candidates forum held in a synagogue during the last week of the 2018 primary campaign, she said a boycott of Israel is not helpful in working toward a two-state solution, and that "it is going to be important for us to recognize Israel's place in the Middle East and the Jewish people's rightful place within that region." That was only said to gain votes and it worked.

Sitting Bull was a Hunkpapa Lakota leader who led his people during years of resistance to United States government policies. He was killed by Indian agency police on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation during an attempt to arrest him, at a time when authorities feared that he would join the Ghost Dance.  Sitting Bull Quote:  "
They claim this mother of ours, the Earth, for their own use, and fence their neighbors away from her, and deface her with their buildings and their refuse."
Anti-Semites try to show the Arabs as the natives of the land of Palestine.  The truth is that the Jews were the natives, being there back over 3,000 years, and then being run off by the Assyrians, Babylonians, and Romans but not completely.  They've always had a Jewish presence on the land.  It's the Jews who have returned to their land, finding what has been described by Mark Twain had seen in "THE INNOCENTS ABROAD," and what Meyer Levin wrote about in his THE SETTLERS."  It's what Joan Peters famously wrote about in her book, From Time Immemorial.  How many of our young new political leaders who voice dissent against Israel have read any of these books?  I even wonder how many of Jewish Democrats have read any of them, for that matter?

This all brings to mind a racial problem the USA once had in its early youth before it had developed any real ethical behavior.  It lied through their teeth to the native Americans in making treaties with them.  The natives, we called simply, " THE Indians", said the whites spoke with a forked tongue.  Of course, it is snakes who have forked tongues, and you can't trust a snake.  The whites didn't look upon Indians as equals such as Europeans, but as a primitive culture perhaps thousands of years behind their great culture.

Spiritually, some Indians exhibited a far advanced sense of spirituality over the whites while they were still in the hunting and gathering stage of development.  They had a strong sense of telling the truth and being dependable.  Again, like in religious confrontations of Muslims and Jews, power was the rule, and the whites coming in force, had the power over the less developed weaponized native Americans.  Israel had been in the same position with the Assyrians, the Babylonians and then the Romans.

By the way, President Trump, after seeing the past 70 years of his 71  years putting in lost efforts in trying to bring about a 2-state solution on people living in the Middle East by outsiders, has already decided that the 2 parties have to decide on such a conclusion if that is to end their conflict, and they can't come to such a conclusion.  Why is this 31 year old who hasn't probably read any of our history other than her own Muslim propaganda beating the issue to death with forcing BDS on Israel, which is just another bullet in the enemy's  arsenal?  Why is anyone?

What's that rule about insanity?  "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."  Well then, Trump is one leader who is not the insane one.  Supposedly,  Albert Einstein said this.   Or how about this one:  "“If you always do what you’ve always done, you always get what you’ve always gotten.” That was the advice of Jessie Potter, the featured speaker at Friday’s opening of the seventh annual Woman to Woman conference.

A 2-state solution is laughable at this point in time.  Continual pushing for it after 70 years is insane.  Already, the Palestinians are divided in land and in thought with 2 different leaders who disagree with each other, both fighting over power.  The land itself is so small that it has actually been divvied up many times already.  Originally, 80% of the Jewish Homeland was given away to Jordan by England who had held the mandate for Palestine for 30 years.  The 20% left-over for the Jews has been  cut into 3 pieces now; Judea-Samaria (original Jewish Israel) called West Bank, and Gaza and Israel.  What is today's Israel is a speck of land on ex-President Bush's Texas ranch.  It's pathetic. It's up to the 2 people involved; the Jews of Israel and the Palestinians who are the squatters on the land who need to decide how to live.  Other couch potatoes from distant lands could get busy and read some history, then need to either share something positive and helpful or just take care of their own problems.  The last thing is to  join a group who don't know what they are talking about and beat the drums with them.  This shows that too many politicians are just followers and not leaders.

And a former Somalian wants to make sure it's divided into 2 state solution made up of Muslims who have been brain-washed to hate Jews for generations.  I can't think of anything less friendly.  Evidently it's the in thing today to be an immigrant of color and young female but not have a good political background on your adopted new government's friends.  "Omar received the largest percentage of the vote of any female candidate for U.S. House in state history, as well as the largest percentage of the vote for a non-incumbent candidate for U.S. House (excluding those running against only non-major-party candidates) in state history."  What's happened to all those sharp Scandinavian descendants living in Minnesota?

What Happened to the Jews of Aleppo, Syria ?

Nadene Goldfoot

A Jewish Wedding in Aleppo  1914

According to the book of Samuel and Psalm 60, Aram Soba, the Biblical name for Aleppo, was part of the extended area of Israel.   Aleppo covered a huge area at this time.  Aleppo's history goes back to King David's day  of 1010-970 BCE.  The Jewish community here was one of the oldest in the world.

When the United Nations declared a Partition Plan for Palestine in November 1947, the Middle East went wild.  Severe anti-Jewish pogroms took place with many casualties across the whole Arab world.  The most violent happened in Aden and Syria.  The violence caused a severe increase in a Jewish exodus, with the Aleppo Jewish community declining.  The rioters in Aleppo burned the city's Jewish quarter and killed 75 people.  After the pogrom, the city[s Jewish population had left.

In 1948, there were about 30,000 Jews in Syria.  That's not many when you realize that in 2011 the population of Syria was as high as 22,505,000.  The Syrian government placed severe restrictions on Jews who might choose to escape.  This included emigration.

Over the next decades, many Jews managed to escape, and the work of supporters, especially Judy Feld Carr, who helped smuggle Jews out of Syria, brought their plight to the attention of the world and raised awareness of their situation.

After the Madrid Conference of 1991, the USA pressured Syria's government to ease its restrictions on Jews.  By Passover  1992, the government of Syria began granting exit visas to Jews on condition that they would not go to Israel.  4,000 Jews were living in Damascus called in Arabic "Yehud ash-sham) and Aleppo and Qamishli.  Most Jews had made it to the USA and some to Israel already. A few family had chosen to emigrate to France and Turkey.   There is a large Syrian Jewish community living in South Brooklyn, New York.  A few remained in Damascus.  There was a final airlift by Israel  that took place in 1994.  They took these few to Tel Aviv.

"The Syrian Jewish community in New York originally consisted of two groups, Jews from Aleppo and Jews from Damascus, Syria. At first the convergence of the two groups was not easy. The Aleppan Jews thought of themselves as more knowledgeable, largely due to their history in Syria as a center of Jewish learning. The Aleppans, or Halabis , followed the traditions of Aram Soba . The Damascene Jews or shammies , prayed in a different house of worship, although in Brooklyn the two groups lived side by side and socialized."

By 2004, the Syrian government tried to establish relations with the emigrants, and a delegation of about 12 Syrian Jews  came back and visited Syria in the Spring.

The surname of Halabi means Aleppo.  It denotes an origin from Aleppo (Halab), Syria, or people who traded with Aleppo residents.  A number of different families from different religions used that surname. Muslims, Jews, Christians or Druze might be carrying this surname.

Some of the Muslims with the surname of Halabi have migrated away to cities in Western Saudi Arabia such as Jeddah, Madinah and Makkah.  Many Halabi Christians have migrated to the USA, England and other European countries.  Druze al-Halabi are found in Lebanon,  Israel, Canada and the USA among other countries.  Halepovich is a variant of the name which is used among slavic Muslims in the Balkans.

Najeeb Halaby is the Syrian father of Queen Noor of Jordan who was born as Lisa Najeeb Halaby.  Lisa Elhalabi is the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration of the USA and the CEO and chairman of Pan Am.

ALEPPO in arabic is called. á¸¤alab; the Jews of Aleppo called it  Aram-Ẓoba or Aram Ẓova), It was the second-largest city in Syria and the center of northern Syria.  The legend has it that Abraham pastured his sheep on the mountain of Aleppo and distributed their milk (ḥalav) to the poor on its slopes.   Jews settled in Aleppo during the Greek period and remained there during the Roman days.  "The community seems to have had close contacts with Palestine, and heads of Palestinian yeshivot (schools that studied the Torah) visited Aleppo." Judea and Samaria were called Palestine after 135CE by the Romans.  "At the beginning of the 16th century exiles from Spain started to arrive in Aleppo, among them outstanding rabbis. " It was the Spanish Inquisition of 1492 that drove out the Jews from Spain and then from their refuge, Portugal and caused them to flee to Syria.

In Aleppo is the Al-Hayyat mosque.  It used to be a synagogue dating from the 6th century.  Benjamin of Tudela found 1,500 Jews living there in 1170 CE.  Before 1914 there were 14,000 Jews living in Aleppo.  The Jewish quarter contained many ancient synagogues with the oldest being the Mustaribaha which was destroyed in 1947's riots.  The main part of this synagogue dated back to the 4th century.

Syria's Chemical Warfare Hits Innocent Syrians

Nadene Goldfoot

No Rose Colored Gas Masks For Syrians

Chemical warfare was first used in WWI. Tear gas, severe mustard gas, phosgene and  chlorine were used.   Then, only 4% of the deaths were from these weapons in the worst war ever. They've all been outlawed.   Saddam Hussein used chemical weapons against the Kurds anyway  in Iraq in the late 1980's. He killed thousands with mustard gas and  nerve agents with arial bombs, 122 mm rockets, and conventional artillery shells.   Nothing is impossible in the Middle East when powers that be want to gain more power, evidently, even the grotesque death of victims gasping for breath or going through trembling gyrations.  This horror is hitting Syria where the shooters are still unconfirmed.  Is it the rebels or the government of Syria doing this dastardly deed, and how many groups make up the rebels and what is their aim?  Some rebels are people that belong to al-Qaida or Hezbollah, terrorist groups.

Israel has had to dispense gas masks to their whole population, now 7 million, several times in order to try to protect them from maniacs who would attack by chemical warfare, something that is outlawed according to the Geneva Convention. My cousin Stanley was in an attack in his home in Jerusalem where everyone had to don their gas masks around 1993.  They feared the worst and again were issued masks in 2010 and 2012.  Bathrooms were to be sealed as a safe room.   Syrians are at the mercy of a government that is against their own populace.  They first destroyed the Jewish community of which the last was able to escape in 1994 when an airlift took them to Tel Aviv, Israel.  They were living in Gestapo-type ghetto-like conditions,  unable to have any civil liberties.  Now it is the few Christians who are in danger.

Syria had 22,505,000 people of which 90% are Muslims, a mixture of Sunni and Shi'a  They have no stated state religion as some states do in the Middle East.  Today Syrians have fled to refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon and many fled to Egypt under Morsi's short reign, who hoped they were all proponents of the Muslim Brotherhood, and are not even registered refugees receiving UN aid, but are about out of their own funds to help them to survive.  Work there is impossible to find under their present emergency.  The UN would do well to survey that situation.

The USA was aware of chemical warfare being used early this year when they confirmed this knowledge and said they would supply some form of weapons to the rebels, but have since had second thoughts about "rebels."  Rebels could be any of the terrorist groups, Hezbollah or al-Qaida who have immersed themselves into the remaining population.

Israel's intelligence strongly suggested a chemical weapons attack, but the rebels have pointed out where 4 rockets had been fired from that proved that the attack could have been carried out only by the government's forces. Sane people question how that could be when this happened on the day the inspectors had arrived in Damascus to check out previous attacks.  The timing is incredibly idiotic.  Russia thinks the rebels staged the attack, which does sound logical to me as it's so incredible that the government would do it upon the inspector's arrival.  .

The rebels reasoning is that the government is softening up the opposition before a major attack with tanks, armored personnel carriers and planes.

The recent attack happened just after 2:00am.  "Chemically equipped rockets were launched; 2 from a bridge on the highway from Damascus to Homs; others  from a Sironex factor in the Qabun neighborhood of  Damascus.

Now the UN may not be able to send investigators in to collect samples from the wounded and dead.

How will the UN respond to all this?  The USA has combat aircraft, fighters and bombers for an air attack, but what is the target and will civilians be killed?  The targets would be missile or artillery batteries that can launch chemical munitions of nerve gas and communications and support facilities, or on the headquarters and government offices of the government.  These are all bad choices according to a European official.  The USA is also divided over the proper response to use, as it was earlier.

Until the world powers get their act together, someone should go into Syria with gas masks, food and water for civilians not involved.  They are between a rock and a hard place, for sure.
