I think it was the night before that I was watching History International on TV and they did a program on the Bible Code, a code discovered basically by an orthodox Jewish mathematician in Israel by the name of Dr. Eliyahu Rips and written about by investigative reporter Michael Drosnin in two books that I have; The Bible Code and Bible Code II-the countdown, published in 1997 and then in 2002. What Rips did was take the Tanach (Old Testament) and put it in the computer in Hebrew in the form of a grid and he discovered and keeps on discovering codes. It's like taking every 50th letter and seeing what words are written. It's turned out to be quite shocking and amazing. There are messages telling all sorts of things. Rips hasn't been the first to look for a code in the Bible. Others such as Newton have tried and have found a little, but not like what has been found with the advent of the computer. Newton had stated that not only the Bible but the entire universe is a cryptogram set by the Almighty. He believed that the universe was a puzzle G-d had made that we were meant to solve. Dr. Rips believes this and that the code itself states it is "in our hands to solve." This was an update to the books and was most interesting. There are a lot of people who say, "oh, such a silly thing", and they have done something similar with the book, Moby Dick, but they haven't found the codes and then see what it pertains to in the material that had been written as has been done in the Tanach. Real-unreal? But it sure is mighty interesting. I can't help but think of Einstein's theory of time and that present, past and future are all rolled up into one. I just can't explain or understand that theory at all, but it seems to have a connection to this Bible code in my mind, and that Ha Shem, know all, planner of everything, knew what he was doing and planned for this to happen when he dictated the Torah to Moses. The gist of what I read as I remember was that our actions can affect the way the world goes, and barely mentioned in the program, which might have been taped in 2002, was that Jerusalem would be divided again. It hasn't happened! Somehow, actions have affected that from happening, thank goodness. This code usually cannot be used to look into the future, only past occurrences. It is mindblowing to see words come up vertically and horizontally as well a diagonally that pertain to one event or person.
The Torah was written over 3,000 years ago and here it was coming up with events like "foreseeing both Kennedy assassinations, the Oklahoma city bombing, the election of Bill Clinton, everything from WWII to Watergate, from the Holocaust and Hitler to Hiroshima, and from the Moon landing to the collision of a comet with Jupiter." Such things as finding Yitzhak Rabin's full name encoded in the Bible with the words "assassin that will assassinate" cross his name is truly eerie. He was indeed assassinated on November 4, 1995. He had been warned by Drosnin who flew to Israel and met with a close friend of Rabin's, but at the time probably neither one took the warning and the newly found code seriously.
Drosnin was in New York City on the morning of September 11th and saw from his roof the attack on the World Trade Center. He then went to his computer and brought up the program of the Bible code and found the terrible event predicted . According to the code, this was the beginning, not the end of the danger we face. He has traveled around the world talking to the White House and to Jersualem as well as having met and talked with Arafat, now deceased. It's not hard for any of us to see the horrors we face with Iran holding the possibility of creating atomic weaponry and the whole Middle East in upheaval. We can only hope and pray for the best of results in that perhaps the Middle East will join Israel in having a democratic country with good intentions of living peacefully, and that Iran will join the upheaval and have a new democratic peaceful leadership and not wish to blow everyone to bits. We've seen their people suffer and a beautiful Iranian woman killed on TV. May the computer age continue giving their important computers involved with creating atomic warfare viruses. Until the computer age came along, none of this could have been accomplished and the codes would have remained hidden.
I for one have been awed by the fact that even such a novel as Moby Dick could hold any kind of semblance of codes. It makes me wonder as I write anything now just where these words do come from, for sometimes I myself am surprised by what I write and the words I dig up out of this 76 year old brain. Though Moby Dick proves this can happen, it hasn't come up with any stupendous earth shaking results that I have heard about like the Tanach has revealed. No book has been published yet with the shocking Moby Dick code results.
I have thought that the Torah (Five Books of Moses) have been most awesome and relevent to today, and this just makes me be even more in awe of our Torah. As one said in Hamlet, "there are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreampt of in your philosophy," the Bible Code Rips has given to us just may be one of them. Does this code prove that there is a G-d? Eli Rips believes it does. He believed in G-d before he discovered this Bible code but believes it is a firm scientific proof of his existence. Drosnin, a secular Jew, believes that no human could have encoded the Bible in this way.

2012 Getting Closer

I watched a program on the History Channel about the Mayan Calendar. There was certainly more to its creation and science than I had ever figured. The date December 21, 2012 is the last day on it and not because they just ran out of paper. There's a lot that they were considering that I have never known about. I'm still in awe over the astronomy that they understood. They were a primitive people and yet knew so much about the heavens. They had cycles of 400 years, and they had five calendars going at one time. It's very deep. I think it's all in the realm of a graduate degree.
Now we have one big scary thing happening in our world. We have Iran, run by meshugana religious Imans and one very crazy leader who want to put an end to Israel and they have atomic power. Whether they are ready to send atomic rockets to Israel at this moment is debatable, but it's getting very close. It could happen this year or as late as 2012. They're just crazy enough to do it. Israel had to step in once before and bomb a weapons depot in Iraq and were successful. This time, I think it would be much more difficult, and the USA would be against it, of course. So this is something in our reality that is not good.
We have Bin Laden who said, "Americans love life, that is their weakness." I also say that Jews love life and we say L'Chaim in our toasts all the time. But, Bin Laden continues to say, "We love death, that is our strength. " He said this on tape on the Arabic network Al-Jazeera recorded before 9/11 most likely. They look forward to all those 70 virgins they will have when deceased and that is more important to them than life here, it seems. They are the opposite of Jews. It's pretty amazing to me since we both believe in one G-d. For monotheists, the message certainly is not the same, even though they copied so much of our religion in certain ways. They just didn't get the same message. I think this is all why the Mayan Calendar and the Bible Code have something working for them. At this point in time, these things are possible.
In Israel we have a mathematician, Dr. Eliyahu Rips, an expert in group theory, a field of mathematics that underlies quantum physics. He has discovered "The Bible Code". This is a code from our 5 books of Moses where he has put the Hebrew letters through the computer and in various ways has found codes that tell what has happened in the past. He has found the "Kennedy assassinations, the Oklahoma city bombing, the election of Bill Clinton, everything from WWII to Watergate, from the Holocaust to Hiroshima, from the Moon landing to the collision of a comet with Jupiter."
A few predictions were found; "the date the Gulf War would begin-and they found it weeks before it started. The date of the Jupiter collision was found months before the blast. " Michael Drosnin found the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin more than a year before the murder and personally warned the Prime Minister, but he didn't take it seriously, so it happened.

The Bible Code and Bible Code II, The Countdown.
Relying on my memory, I believe he is also saying that something is going to happen in 2012. I have it in my mind that this is not a year I want to travel.
In the 2nd book, he wrote a quote from Einstein. "The distinction between past, present and future is only an illusion, however persistent. He wrote this on March 21, 1955 in a letter he wrote to the widow of a fellow physicist and friend, Michele Besso.
Stephen Hawking is my favorite physicist. Michael quotes him, also. He's just amazing. He stated that "time travel might be within our capabilities in his introduction to "The Physics of Star Trek". He also says this in his book "A Brief History of Time". He had said that any advanced form of space travel would require faster than light travel, which means going back in time. This makes me wonder that the UFO's that have reported are doing just that. That's another thing. UFO's were also a special on TV and many important people in our armed forces are now speaking up. You can be a doubter, but there is a lot of evidence that this is a real occurrence. My father couldn't convince me at age 13 of the future television that was coming. I thought he was out of his mind-a box that would have pictures on it like a movie theater? With my lack of experience, I couldn't conceive it. Look what our scientists are able to do and understand now. Nothing is impossible.
To make matters more serious, when I lived in Israel from 1980 to 1985, I came to know and listen to my friends who were orthodox Jews and I found out that they expect the Messiah soon, just as the Christians do. So this all points to something happening. These are awesome times that we are living in.
I think my New Year's resolution is to appreciate and enjoy every peaceful day. I hope others can do the same no matter where they are living.
P.S. 1/8/10 In the Jewish calendar, this is the year 5770. I believe the Messiah is to come in the year 6,000. That gives us another 230 years. It's close but we have breathing room to improve our ways.

Year 2012-Predictions of Cataclysm and the Moshiah
I had Shabbat dinner with relatives this past Friday night. The conversation turned to the coming of the Messiah "Moshiach". I know that both we Jews and many Christians expect the Messiah to come very shortly. Throughout history people have been expecting a Messiah's coming. This is the first time that I know of that both Christians and Jews are expecting him to come at the same time.
With this knowledge known to me, I have read the Bible Code I and II with great interest. The year 2012 was mentioned as something happening that was very important. This is a code found from the Hebrew writings of the 5 Books of Moses laid out in rows without spaces, and finding that at intersections of letters, facts have been found. I can read Hebrew and saw the charts and could read them. It's mindblowing. Isaac Newton was trying to find such a code, but with computers of our age, it has now been accomplished. Many disregard this finding as they can do the same thing with the book, Moby Dick. I doubt if they can find the very facts that the mathematician, Eliahu Rips of Israel has discovered and continues to discover. What is hard is that they predicted a few times what would happen, but can't do it all the time.
Today I watched a TV program on the History channel that was titled, Nostradamus-2012 on from 5pm to 7pm. It discussed the Bible Code and other resources that are saying similar things. The information was taken from "The Lost Book of Nostradamus" made up of many pictures that have been interpreted. The gist of it is that there may be a galactical realignment in the heavens causing an upheaval. Our choices in our lives determines the earth's fate.
This also sounds familiar. It's a part of Judaism. Doing good deeds is very important. The program mentioned that our Torah spoke of the end of days. Evidently we are in the 7th milinnium now, and our calendar soon ends. On the Jewish calendar this is the year 5769. The Christian "Revelations" discusses the end of days. My cousin was talking about the Chafetz Chaim having a dream and needing to tell everyone that the Messiah was coming soon. We talked about what "soon" meant.
The TV program today started with speaking of the Mason's calendar coinciding with 2012. The Hopi Indians also feel that this date is important and that we are moving into the 5th world now. The Mayan Indians are famous for their calendar which is more accurate than what the world uses today. They have December 21, 2012 as the last day of the calendar.
All the events that have been happening lately are prophesized in one way or another to happen at the end of days. Mesopatamia is actually the old name for Iraq and was spoken of 1500 years ago as being a part of the end of days. . That's mentioned. The economic crisis we're facing, with the stock market falling is part of events along with all the environmental occurrances, earthquakes and tsunamis. Atomic energy and Iran developing possible weapons is certainly pointing to something out of the end of days. Terrorism and Israel's rebirth are also things described in the end of days.
We are warned. The book of Nostradamus is a wake up call. We could be within three years of something huge happening. Our choices dertermine our fate.

Prophetic Event in 2006

The Bible Code by Michael Drosnin, a reporter, was based on the findings of an Israeli mathematician, Dr. Eliyahu Rips. Rips had used a computer to discover codes in the Five Books of Moses. The two men decided that we are now in "The end of days." One of the codes revealed that 2006 would be a year of World War and "Atomic Holocaust." This was discovered in 2001. According to the code, what was seemingly predicted didn't necessarily have to happen. Our behavior could change the predictions.
What actually happened in 2006 was that Lebanon attacked Israel with rockets that reached Safed in the northern Galilee where I used to live from 1980-1985. The city was famous in the 14th century and contained so many historical places that I was familiar with. I remember going into my apartment's bomb shelter and hoped that I never had to use it. I cried when I saw the destruction of buildings in photos sent to me by my ex neighbor and friend, Sandy Hazen.
Now Hizbullah terrorists have completely taken over Lebanon, which borders Israel in the north. Their leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has announced that if Israel attacks them, they would exceed the shelling of the month-long war in 2006. In fact, they plan on destroying Israel, and that Israeli soldiers would see in their fighters (mujahideen), things unimaginable.
The threat is taken seriously. Prime Minister Olmert's office in Israel had to issue travel warnings to all Israelis abroad that this terrorist group intended to kidnap Israelis in revenge for Israel's Mossad having killed Islamist operations chief Imad Mughniyeh in Damascus. At least they have blamed Mossad. It hasn't been proven who killed him.
Of course, Iran, which lies on the east, constantly threatens the survival of Israel and either does have atomic capability or very soon will have. That is the greatest fear right now. Hopefully, what was predicted to happen in 2006 has been postponed but not forgotten. It's always a daily possibility. The situation right now makes it a big possibility.
