Map of West Bank With Ma'ale Adumim As Clinton Viewed It at Camp David

Nadene Goldfoot
"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu caused a diplomatic stir last week when he announced Israel’s intention to build in E1 – a controversial plan that has been started and aborted since it was first announced in 1994"."There are Israeli plans for construction, frozen since at least 2009 under international pressure. Construction is controversial as it would create a continuous Jewish population between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim.

This area of contension is called E1 or Mevaseret Adumim.  It is mostly an empty area 12 sq. km (4.6 sq. miles) near Ma'ale Adumim.  Some Bedouins live in there,  but Bedouins are nomadic desert dwellers and their stay is mostly temporary at best.  The E1 area is bordered by the  French Hill  neighborhood of Jerusalem  to the west, Abu Dis to the southwest, Kedar to the south, Ma'ale Adumim to the east, and Almon to the north. The area is mountainous and covers almost 3,000 acres. The E1 area borders the Jerusalem municipality and is administered by Ma'ale Adumim.

Camp David in 2000 was the scene of the Clinton Peace Proposal which Arafat, terrorist leader, rejected.  The map Dennis Ross drew for it is below.  You will see that Palestine can be contiguous (being in actual contact).  What the Palestinians are raving about along with other people is not true.  I feel everyone picks up the mantra they are evoking without checking on the facts. Note that shelling of Israel started in 2001 from Gaza.  That was Gaza's answer to any peace and geography discussions.

Such as what Jimmy Carter, former US President, says (see below) about Israel is also as false as Clinton's was correct.  .
"Israel’s plan to build in the E-1 area between Ma’aleh Adumim and Jerusalem “cuts the West Bank into two parts and permanently separates East Jerusalem from what would be left”; and

• Israel is “rapidly confiscating Palestinian territory for new Israeli settlements ….” Jimmy Carter

My comment is that Israel isn't confiscating territory.   Israel has only waited for 64 going on 65 years now forPalestinians to get their act together, sit down and make peace and develop their state for the much awaited 2 state solution.  If Israel has decided to use land they feel is theirs by international law, so be it.  In 1948 Arafat would have had anything he asked for.  Now, much later, I'm sure that Netanyahu wants recognition along with land planning with a guarantee of stopping the rocket firing.  .

"So although Thomas Friedman and Maureen Dowd in today's New York Times both repeat the mantra that Israeli building would (in Friedman's words) "sever any possibility of a contiguous Palestinian state," this is simply not true. The development of E-1 might impact Palestinian demands about the contours of a future state. It might impact the sides' conflicting claims on Jerusalem. But whatever the pros and cons, it does not prevent a contiguous Palestinian state, and it certainly does not prevent a viable Palestinian state."

If push came to shove, I believe I read that they could always built a ramp such as the types we have all over Portland to get quickly from one place to another.

Obama's Close Ancestral Relationship to Jews?

Nadene Goldfoot
It is the belief of some Muslims throughout the world that Barak Hussein Obama, the American President, is of Jewish descent from his maternal side. They say that his mother is on the branch from the Rockefeller lineage of the House of Rothschild.

They are so wrong. His mother was Stanley Ann Dunham b: November 29, 1942 in Kansas. A professional genealogist has connected him to Ireland to the Donovans and Benns, but I haven’t found where he or any other president has Jewish roots.

I checked out the family on ancestry.com and found them on the 1930 census in El Dorado, Butler, Kansas. Stanley was 12. They lived with 84 year old Christopher C. Clark and the Armours. In 1920 they lived in Wichita, Wd 5, Kansas. Stanley of course was 1 and 9 months. They lived with Christopher C Clark, then 74, a widow and father in law. There was a 26 year old Ralph Dunham, the son in law and they lived with the Armours, and 19 year old Ruth Dunham nee Armour. So Obama’s mother grew up with her grandparents in her extended family.

They said that through this line he was connected to Bush, Cheney and Clinton’s trees. The belief puts those just mentioned to be of Jewish descent.

Rothschilds
It is true that Rothschild is a Jewish family, but not the Rockefellers.

Rockefellers
They are an American Christian family of German origin, not of a Sephardic (Spanish, Portugese) Jewish family that is rumored. The family has had several important enterpreneurs and bankers in the family for several generations. Just because both families are rich and because their surnames start with Ro....does not make both Jewish, for heaven’s sakes. Non-Jews are certainly capable of making money, too. This is so anti-semitic.

Hitler and the Nazis referred to the Rockefellers as Jewish in order to demonstrate that the Jews ran the world through the power of money. John D. Rockefeller, Sr., the founder of Standard Oil and reputedly the richest man ever, is the one anti-semites call “Jewish.” Actually, his mother, Eliza Davison, was not Jewish. John is a devout Baptist.

Jews, and I’m talking about Jews of today, are not in the business of taking over the world, so the Illuminati should get that falsehood out of their heads. All Jews would like is to be able to live in their little piece of land in peace.

This belief that the Muslim messiah is coming because there is a connection between Muslims and Jews in blood is not going to be from Obama, that’s for sure. He’s hasn’t been good for Jews in Israel.

Clinton's Emasculation of Netanyahu

I am shocked over Hillary Clinton's dressing down of Netanyahu over the apartments to be built in Jerusalem. He is known for what he stands for, the right to do this very thing in Israel's own capital and on a side they already have.

I'm thinking of how she had addressed Jewish groups in the states telling them of how she was all for Israel, etc. saying this just to get votes. How transparent she is in her beliefs. How little she has studied the issue is certainly being demonstrated to me at this point in time.

What hurts me is that is shows she did not wonder at first about this announcement and come up-quickly-with scenarios as to why. It must have been a gut reaction, and that is scary, no , not scary, but realistic as to how she for one really feels, and this realism is very disappointing but not surprising at all.

Of course I realize that this is also how Obama sees the situation, and she is following party line of her boss. However, she fell into raising the rioting factor, and shows that she is simply just an extension and is not thinking in a different mode at all.

Right now Netanyahu is standing up for Israel and its rights, which is quite a feat considering this attack. He's being a mench as far as I'm concerned and not cow-towing. Israel is not going to go through 60 years beating the odds of surviving against so many who want to see it being beaten into the sea and then cave into an angry woman. This new "let's go for change administration" of ours evidently would like to see a change-from helping Israel to helping its destroyers, and must stop to smell the oranges growing in Israel and know that these things weren't happening before 1948.

If Clinton wants to do something worthwhile she could use her charms on the Palestinians who only teach hatred and the goal of not accepting Israel. Tell them to put up or shut up. Why doesn't she go over to Hamas and the other terrorists and tell them to follow Abbas? Don't keep screaming at Israel as to what to give up to have peace. We've done our share already.

East Jerusalem-Belongs to Israel by Nadene Goldfoot

Evidently America has been getting so presumptuous about giving East Jerusalem to the Palestinians that their condemndation has actually aided the Palestinians into demonstrating hatred and causing all sorts of problems in Jerusalem. First it was Biden who was furious with the announcement of 1,600 apartments to be built. Then Clinton scolded very harshly. Netanyahu was in deep trouble because his interior minister told the truth at the wrong time.

To me it sounds like everyone but Israel takes it for granted that East Jerusalem is to be the capital of Palestine. Was the announcement ill-timed? Perhaps it was a desperate move to tell these outsiders that it's a place sacred to Jews, and has been in the original plans of Israel for an eternity is not at least the last 3,000 years. It's part of Israel's land that is not to be bartered with. Panic struck and the announcement came out. I think the interior minister felt the steam roller coming and pushed back.

The timing was amazing. First, I was really expecting Mitchell to be there. It was announced in the papers that he was coming for peace talks and Biden would come after him in a few days. At this time there were all kinds of demonstrations going on in Jerusalem by the Palestinians over Israel's decision to protect religious and cultural places because the Palestinians were letting them go to pot. Try to do something nice and you get in doo doo. There's never a dull moment in Israel as I recall from living there from 1980-1985. I haven't heard a word about Mitchell but this episode is bringing out all sorts of hate-mongers towards Israel.

Israel is a nation, albeit a very teeny one. It is not a state or a city of the United States. It's cross to bear is that it is dependant on money from the United States to buy arms to protect itself from these same enemies. The United States is so fair that it has also been supplying money to all the other enemies in the surrounding neighborhood, making the necessity continuous. Now the biggest ogre in the neighborhood, Iran, is a threat with the worst weapon of all, atomic ones that can reach Israel.

If the future Palestine were made up of lovely Canadians who wanted offices in East Jerusalem for their state, it might be a different story. It would be lovely to have such nice neighbors who are so similar with similar goals and acceptance in their hearts. But these Palestinians have been fighting us for over 60 years now and only a few have decided to accept us. Fatah hasn't really come around at all, only on the surface for show, I'm afraid. They've had their share of attacks on Israeli civilians. Of course they're easier to deal with than the off the wall Hamas and other terrorists who are as bull-headed as they come. Finding an enemy who is willing to live in peace is hard to do. The problem is that the Palestinians are divided and not acting as a unit. How can we come to an agreement about a new state next door or in our living room that way ? Come off your high horses, Biden and Clinton. Don't act so shocked. Palestinians need to earn the trust you expect us to have, and we haven't got any so far. We've been slapped in the face for 60 years now. You just experienced it one time for a few moments.

Our Missed Opportunity: Ahmadinejad at UN

Nadene Goldfoot
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has arrived in the states to speak at the U.N., and our Jewish leaders were in the process of creating a protest rally, and everyone lost their focus on the importance of such a rally. The man has threatened the extinction of Israel, for Pete's sake.

Instead, our rally leaders invited Hillary Clinton to speak. Because she was a Democrat candidate for the presidency, a Republican must have asked Sarah Palin to speak. That did it. The issues focused on politics and Hillary pulled out, feeling the Palin invitation was a partisan move. Everyone forgot about a protest against Ahmadinejad!

Brave Ahmadinejad in the heart of "The Great Satan," gleefully will be speaking about the demise of Israel. Here's a man who denies that the Holocaust ever took place, and our ladies are only concerned about who's appearing at the rally. The Iranian government wants nuclear weapons. They'll help run their electricity plants, probably. Iran is responsible for attacks on Israel and other Jews, even in Argentina. Their ideology is anti-semitism and holocaust denial and murder is part of its official policy. We lost the moment to show a democratic way of not accepting their policy.

Sarah had a terrific speech to give. Someone who knew something must have written it. I'm sure that Hillary would have given an equally if not better speech, also. It's too bad that no one will ever hear their protests. After all, our politics are far more important than Israel's life.

Palestine Not in Accordance to Hoyle

A professor of international law at Purdue U. has found that the creation of a Palestine has not proper authority under international law. There are laws of statehood. They are found in the Montevideo Treaty of 1934

1. A permanent population
2. a defined territory
3. a government
4. ability to enter into relations with other states.

ARTICLE 10
The primary interest of states is the conservation of peace. Differences of any nature which arise between them should be settled by recognized pacific methods.
I feel the Palestinians are divided into too many terrorist factions. They could never follow article 10 at all.
Why Bush is so intent upon creating a Palestinian state remains a mystery to me. It would not be in America's interest simply for strategic purposes. This state definitely will be dangerous to Israel. There would be competition for control by the many Sunni Arab regimes that Washington is now arming and by Shi ite Iran, which is being armed by Russia.

The Palestinians were offered a state in 1948 and they have continually turned it down. The USA has been continually calling for a Two State Solution, though I doubt if they would want this situation for themselves. The official maps of the Palestinians who have no proper electoral basis or clearly fixed territory still include Israel only as a part of Palestine. this refers to all of Israel proper; not only to Judea, Samaria and Gaza. They haven't even recognized Israel as a state, and only Abbas, representing half of the Palestinians, speaks to Olmert.

Clinton's Road Map, still used by Bush is very confusing. It is said to presume Israel's disappearance. This has probably aided the Palestinian terrorist groups to all be committed to Israel's destruction. Each group calls for the "liberation of all Palestinian territory, and they mean all of Israel."

I know that Olmert is under great pressure now from Bush and Condoleeza Rice to give into a Palestine at this time, but this seems to spell suicide. Is that what Bush wants? I think someone should listen to the Purdue Professor.
