BDS Equals Anti-Semitism

Religion is behind the motivation of bringing on BDS against Israel by a handful of people in Portland, Oregon as well as the rest of the world.  It seems we're always facing some form or other.  It's an old story.

"In 2005, Palestinian civil society issued a call for a campaign of boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it complies with international law and Palestinian rights. A truly global movement against Israeli Apartheid is rapidly emerging in response to this call. " They call for ending Apartheid.  That's something that went on in Africa.  It's not the story of Israel at all.  The truth is it's the opposite of apartheid.  This accusation comes from the Palestinians'  warped view of reality and narrow mindedness.  They have found others gladly buy into such a ridiculous claim and it's working so they use it.  Facts go by the wayside.  

Coming right down to it, people working on BDS, such as Portlanders in our own City Council, feel they must cause Israel to bend to their wishes, which are nothing but wishes stemming from anti-Semitism.  There is no basis, no legitimate reasons for wanting to do the only Democratic country in the Middle East, harm.

They are people who are weak in their knowledge of what's going on on in the world.  The history of the Jews, why they returned to Israel, and the struggles they have had has gone over their heads.  All that motivates them is hearsay-gossip, innuendos, and anti-Semitism.

A people without a country of their own for 2,000 years is being shafted by a nomadic people of recent years who belong to a group that already has 49 countries of their own religion.  Israel is the only Jewish state in the world.  The original state of Judah was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE.  Surrounded by enemies from the Muslim world, Portland has added their barbs and missiles of BDS to the already suffering state.

Top drawer international lawyers such as Prof. Kontorovich,  Eugene Rostow, a former Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, and  Stephen Schwebel, formerly President of the International Court of Justice,   have proved that BDS philosophy is wrong and an unjust persecution of the new state of Israel.  This is just a few of the international lawyers who defend Israel's right to exist and defend their actions to continue existing.  "Prof. Kontorovich has also written and lectured extensively about the legal aspects of the Israel-Arab conflict."  That's something that people backing BDS should take time to study.

For what they are trying to do to Israel backs no merit.  "It doesn't compute", as Leonard Nimoy used to say on Star Trek as Captain Kirk's side kick, Mr. Spock, the half Vulcan half human  .  Both Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk,  happen to be Jewish in real life.  "President Obama, who said he loved Spock, similarly described Nimoy's character as "cool, logical, big-eared and level-headed, the center of Star Trek's optimistic, inclusive vision of humanity's future."  ""His legacy as that character is key to the enjoyment of Star Trek. The way that Spock was used as a device for the writers to examine humanity and examine what it meant to be human, that's really what Star Trek was all about. And in finding Leonard Nimoy, they found the perfect person to portray that."  One problem of being human is that we don't use the logic and intelligence enough that we have, which the Vulcans had more of.  
                                                                    

William Shatner's Star Trek Captain Kirk, felt he had to keep quiet in his early years of his career about being Jewish.  Now, at 71, he's speaking out.  He had discovered that the word "G-d" is an anathema to Hollywood, where they fear people will "feel slighted if it is not their God.  One way or another, everyone is searching for G-d, whether God is money, philosophy, family or a variety of ways humans search for something beyond themselves,"  

William Shatner is also Jewish from Toronto, Canada.  "He wanted to start therapudic riding programs in Israel for all children.  "I had ambitions of taking children from Jordan, Egypt, even Gaza, and busing them to riding centers that would take young children who hadn't yet been inculcated into hate, and they would see the commonality of all humanity," says Shatner.  I think he would have a hard time finding such children today, sadly.  

Here, religion more often than not has erased logic, especially in the case of BDS which is religiously motivated.  Starting off with Africa's  religious leader, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who seems to have a grudge against Israel, this esteemed man, most human and not godly at all, sided with the Palestinians.  Perhaps he "sees" his own people in them by comparison, taken over by the ruling whites, which is not the same situation at all in Israel as what has happened in South Africa.  

Through his efforts, the Sabeel movement took off, and that includes BDS against Israel, another form of harm for the tiny state just like a missile attack.

"Disinvestment from Israel is a campaign conducted by religious and political entities which aims to use disinvestment to pressure the government of Israel to put "an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories captured during the 1967 military campaign." The disinvestment campaign is related to other economic and political boycotts of Israel."  The Presbyterians and now Methodists are involved in backing the movement.  When you look at these 2 Protestant religions, they have already gone to the point of the "Replacement Theory" whereby Jews are replaced by them in being G-d's favorite.  So it must be easy for them to kick Israel in the shins and not back this tiny state in it's fantastic efforts to stay afloat and exist.  I sense a streak of jealousy here.  You know, it was Tevye, the milkman (Fiddler on the Roof) , who said, "Why us, G-d?  Couldn't you pick on somebody else?  We have a hard row to hoe.  We didn't ask for the position.  It's not something that makes us special, but a huge responsibility to have accepted.  One thing for sure, we have had the stiff neck to not go back on our promise.  We've lasted throughout the centuries from the time of Moses  who asked this of us in about 1300 BCE to today;  about 3,315 years.

Then, as if this isn't enough, we have the Catholics who have had a history of persecution against Judaism from the days of the Crusaders during the 1,000s  and then the Spanish Inquisition in 1492 and onwards.  Christianity has only let up with their slings and arrows in about the 1960s, actually, considering all the anti-Semitic goings on.  Now it's coming back big-time, showing some acts similar to what happened in Germany in the 20s and 30s against Jews. It doesn't stop there.  Now we have Iran's religious leader, the Ayatollah, saying Israel will be destroyed by them.   This is an updated version being we have had our own state of Israel for the past 67 years.

 Trying to destroy Israel by cutting off it's economic life-blood for existence is what they are doing.  At the same time, though they are too hot-blooded to think about it, Israel is made up of inside it's borders, 1.7 million Arabs, some of them Christians.  In Judea and Samaria, so close that they are simply like a neighborhood of Israel, are Arabs who were depending on some of the industries for jobs.  Boycotting, the B in BDS of Boycotting, Divesting and Sanctions, is their way of trying to stop Israel in the financial areas.  And why are they attacking Israel?  It has been the Palestinian Arabs who have been attacking Israel physically!  However, the religious groups in South Africa and those few religious in the rest of the world have taken the old steps of being against the Jewish people.  Why?  For their refusal of accepting their religion.  So you see, it isn't enough that Jews are getting the same raw deal from the Muslims of not accepting their form of worship.  Jews are the meat in the sandwich, getting crushed from both sides.

How can intelligent people think for a minute that Jews would cause harm, harm that they have suffered from for the past 2,000 years, on people they share their land with?  It's not a part of our religion to do such things.  We live by the Golden Rule; Don't do to others what you would not want done to you.  This is why it's so asinine.  Only minds wanting to believe such filth can do it.  

It's not enough that Israel is one of the leading countries in being a start-up nation in business, and for a country made up of only 6 million Jews and 1.7 million Arabs, that is remarkable in that they are being compared with all countries of much larger sizes, 

 "The Council on Foreign Relations states in its publisher's blurb for the book that Start-up Nation addresses the question: "How is it that Israel—a country of 7.1 million people, only sixty years old, surrounded by enemies, in a constant state of war since its founding, with no natural resources—produces more start-up companies than large, peaceful, and stable nations like Japan, China, India, Korea, Canada, and the United Kingdom?

All the attacks on Israel have not prevented their innate talents to produce and to live.  Other countries would find it very hard to do so.  Israelis have creative minds and continue to create.  Any group deciding foolishly to use BDS to harm Israel will not be an intelligent group, that is for sure, only a hateful one, and they never last.  Israel continues to produce, especially in the medical field which they share with the world.  All people can or are benefitting from achievements by Israel and by the Jewish people.  It sounds like I'm bragging, but I am proud of the achievements they have made.  
                                                                                    
By the same token, the religion of Judaism was first to establish humane rules for living among others.  Our history is that it was designed by G-d as G-d spoke to Moses, so let it be.  Jews are only trying to be fair with the Palestinians as much as they are not being fair with the Jewish people.  Israel has designed plans and have tried to carry them out that benefit the Palestinians, only their Arab leaders have managed to curtail many of  the good acts and persuade Arabs to attack the Jews anyway!  A good example is that after 67 years, Arabs have been rioting in Jerusalem, trying to take the capital being their motivation.   

I watched CNN's program last night with Anthony Bourdain, the chef, who happens to have Jewish roots, travel the world to Turkey, what remains of the Ottoman Empire.  He interviewed several people, the last being a businessman who said money was what made the world go around.  It was money that was important to him; not the freedom of speech, not any democratic values that Israel and the USA share.  Just money.  It didn't matter to him that he lacked these things that we have.  He's happy in a beautiful home being able to show it to Bourdain.  What's happening to Turkey is that President Erdogan has been their leader for some time, first as PM and since 2014 as President, and has become very religious, imposing his Islamic ideas on all.  But, this man didn't mind at all.  As long as he's not affected, he doesn't care what is happening.  Of course this religious bent is causing him to be difficult with Israel.  
I'm afraid many people share his lack of having values in his life.  The heck with what is going on, but isn't it fun to get on the band wagon and persecute someone?  And that someone is Israel.   Just don't confuse these people with the facts.

People that Validate Jewish History From Torah

 One group of Protestants still respect  the Old Testament  who are called "Evangelicals."  James B. Irwin, astronaut on Apollo 10, was active in believing the writings in the Bible, especially after his experience on the moon.  He led an expedition to search for Noah's Ark.  I don't think his not finding it deterred him as he later "founded an evangelical religious organization."  His knowledge of science did not deter his validating the writings of the Torah. 

 What religion should do for a person is to give them that moral fiber to be moralistic. That includes all the good that people should be and how they treat each other.  One look at this world of ours, and we can see we are failing.  People are as crude and rude as they were back in the Neolithic days, ready to kill off most of the planet's population much quicker than the cave men could.  Those that are most ready to do so do not think much of the 10 Commandments, so basic to civilization.   

Christopher Columbus in 1492 could have been Jewish.   Jews in 1492 were hiding the fact to keep from being converted or killed and were called Marranos.  He could have been one, for that matter, though he is listed as a Catholic    He spoke Spanish better than Italian.   He wrote to his son in Hebrew.This was at a time where Spain was telling Jews that they had to convert or leave the country. The New Testament had replaced the Jews' history found in the Old.    The mapmakers he met with when in Genoa were Jews, as Jews had been merchants way before 70 CE and traveled a lot on the seas from Israel and Judah and probably did a lot of charting.  He must have found credible facts to undertake such a voyage, for Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 14 hundred and 92. If he trusted their map making, it also could be that he trusted their history, found in the Christian "Old Testament."  Being he was to become a very famous person, I have included him for representing a time when Jews were suffering the worst and had been forced to leave Spain, then Portugal and finally find other countries to live in such as Syria.

The United States of America was settled by religious people in 1620 who came to Plymouth Rock, the land later to become the state of Massachusetts.  They believed in G-d, and had a  relationship with the Old Testament, which they read. They even studied a little Hebrew.     They had broken off from Catholicism long before in England to become Protestants, and these Pilgrims were a branch of that group who felt they still had no religious freedom of choice, so off they went from Holland, which they had tried to settle in, to the unknown land of America in a little sailing ship called "The Mayflower."  They weren't the first to arrive in North America. English people had sailed to Jamestown much further south and established it with a colony  on May 14, 1607   "The colony gave England its first foothold in the European competition for the New World, which had been dominated by the Spanish since the voyages of Christopher Columbus in the late 15th century ".It later became Jamestown, Virginia.  

Being that the south was not settled by religious people of that day, they saw nothing wrong about having slaves and defied the request from the President and the North  to free them, which England had already done in 1833.   Therefore, the refusal to do so  started   the American Civil War in 1861 and didn't end till 1865. Since then, religion did make its way into the South.  

Religion is losing out in the USA.  Less and less people have any respect for the Old Testament, the part that tells the history of the Jewish people.   They think it is just an Old Wives' Tale, legends, having nothing to do with today's scientific facts.  Bring up borders, boundaries, land, and few heed the information IF it comes from the Bible.  "Oh, I don't believe that stuff.  It's not true."  Little do people realize that this written history is actually recorded history of the Jews, telling of battles and who with and what happened.  It even includes geography and genealogy.  Hebrew texts, material written in Hebrew, date back to the 2nd millennium BCE, when Abraham was living.

Why are Hebrew writings so easy to ignore?  This is history recorded in writing.  At the same time there was writing going on in Egypt, Babylonia and China. Moses (1391-1271 BCE) most likely was schooled in hieroglyphics.  In 1391 BCE Amenkotep III was the pharoah.   People pay attention  to material from those sources.  Why is the Torah not paid respect as a source of history by people other than the Jews?  The Culture, the foods, the animals and plants, all are recorded there.  It's a wealth of information. The Babylonian Empire, which existed at the same time, wrote in the Akkadian language.  That's where Hammurabi came from.  People were writing Akkadian, a cunieform style of writing  in 2,500 BCE.  Sumerians invented it in the 4th millennium BCE.

Jewish people do not use the King James edition of the Old Testament, however.  Translation errors have been made from Hebrew to Greek to English.  Our word for bible is Tanach, so we use The Stone Edition Tanach from the ArtScroll Series which is considered to be the most accurate.  There are people who think that the Torah has changed over the years, and they do not understand the original and continuing care that has been taken to make sure that not one word was changed.  Even pieces found in the Dead Sea Scrolls are proving that they haven't changed since the 1st century for the past 2,000 years.  One can visit the Dead Sea Museum online or in person which is in Jerusalem and view the original findings.  Evidently people like to be told things, like in a preached speech, and personal detective work is awkward for them to do a study on their own.  If they're not told this is it, they don't trust the information that this is not just folk lore.  .

 DNA, another science from geneticists, is giving us a clear cut road map of people, calling this new science population genetics.  Someday, the two must get together and see if they can mesh their findings with what we have known since Moses and his people who existed for over 3,000 years.  One thing about our writings.  They never have been known to put themselves in a better light by leaving out the bad parts.  Egypt was known to do that by covering over hieroglyphics that the next ruler didn't approve of.  They only wrote about their successes.  We wrote about our sins, that of David, especially, and the women in his life.  We learn from from, or try to.
                                                                               

Francis S. Collins, PhD is one of the world's leading scientists who studies genetics.  He was the head of the Human Genome Project.  He's also a man of unshakable faith in G-d and scripture and believes that faith in G-d and faith in science can coexist within a person and be harmonious.  He wrote the book, "The Language of God," which of course is our DNA.   In fact, discovering our DNA has made him more religious.  One of the more interesting chapters in his book is "Genesis, Galileo, and Darwin. Darwin is most interesting to me because the Nazis took his theories and used them to prove they had the right to exterminate all the Jews in the world, of course which was not what Darwin had intended.   

The book, followed up with its own movie,  "Roots," by Alex Haley, set me on fire as far as dabbling into my own genealogy.  He tells of the African custom of reciting their oral history before their family group. He was able to trace his family line to one tribe in Africa through oral history.

 Our oral history has accompanied our written history as well.  We Jews probably did the same thing, recite this history of ours, telling of things left out when Moses set down his 5 books, another thing that modern people of today want to pooh pooh.  We have since printed the oral history before we forgot it.  It's called the "Mishnah."  So we have 3 sources of importance, The Torah or 5 books of Moses, the Talmud and the Mishnah.  Rabbis have been discussing our writings since the fall of Jerusalem of 70 CE with Rashi being the most famous commentator (1040-1105 CE)

Jews in Israel depend on the Torah for their strength.  I've known of soldiers who used its geography descriptions of the terrain to get themselves out of harm's way when confronting the enemy.  It worked!  They found paths, ancient, but still usable for them.  The description of Eretz Yisrael giving the boundaries and the description of it is found in the Tanakh.

King David (1010-970 BCE)  is said to be the author of Psalms.  I found #62 that is most prophetic. He speaks for all Jews of today.   The first stanza goes like this: and is addressed to the wicked, murderous schemers.  One must never allow the power and ill-gotten wealth of the oppressor to erode one's trust in G-d and faith in His justice.

For G-d alone my soul waits silently,
    my salvation comes from him.
He alone is my Rock and my  salvation
     my stronghold,
   I shall not falter greatly.

You'd think someone wrote that today, knowing how many have tried to convert us since the many Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition and people ringing our door bells.  For us, G-d remains that unseen force that created everything.  Could it still be that anti-Semitism, because Jews have not converted to others' religions, is the cause of not wanting to believe anything written by Jews?  It most likely goes like this:  since Jews are wrong about G-d, their book has to be all wrong, too.  They ignore that their Savior was a practicing  Jew.  
                                                                               

Therefore, when we give testimony of our former history in Eretz Yisrael, people can hoot and holler all they want.  They just show me that they have read but very little history.  The archaeologist just beginning in their professions seem to be one of the worst in reading about our history, thinking they can know all the history from the few remains they find after 3,000 years. Of course the findings are fantastic and  validate our history, but somehow there are those who still hold out that our Torah is just stories for children. "Oh no", they say, "It can't be." I'd say they are in denial, like an alcoholic.  They want to ignore the findings that do prove our existence and story.  For instance, an ancient 4th century CE Samson Mosaic  was found in a synagogue in Israel in September 2013. A stone altar was discovered in November 2013 dating back to the Israelite kings at Shiloh from 1010 BCE.  "Three complete cooking pots and a small ceramic oil lamp were uncovered in June 2013 inside a small cistern in a drainage channel that runs from the Shiloah Pool in the City of David to Robinson’s Arch near the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City that were at least 2,000 years old.  A 2nd Temple period ritual bath was located  in April 2013 in the  Qiryat Menachem quarter of Jerusalem, a rare ritual bath - known as a mikvah in Hebrew." So, young archaeologist, pay attention to what has been going on in the archaeology areas in Israel before you say nothing is found to prove our existence there or our facts thereof.

Moravia was a former province of Bohemia which later fell into the hands of Austria, and then finally is known as Czechoslovakia.  Jews have lived there since the Middle Ages.  They  suffered in massacres in 1337, and again when the Black Death (Bubonic Plague) struck in 1349.  About half were expelled from the country in 1421 which was even before the mass expulsions in the Spanish Inquisition of 1492 which affected other countries as well.

In 1648 onward, they suffered from Polish persecution.  In the 17th century a General Council of  Moravian Jewry was formed which was given the job of taxation and enacting laws for communal self-government.  It's capital town was Brno (Brunn), an important center for rabbinic learning.

In 1824 Benedikt Kohn was born in the southern part of Moravia.  He was a successful master brewer of beer.  His first wife died, so he moved to Bennisch (Horni Benesov) in 1868 when he was 44.  There he married Mathilde Frankel.  There were only 27 Jews including them, enough for a minion,  living in their town of 4,200  according to the 1880 census.  However, Benedikt died in 1876, so Mathilde moved to Vienna with her children, Ida age 7 and Friedrich or Fritz, as he was called, born in 1873 and her newborn Otto.

Fritz and Otto were excellent students in Vienna.  At this time, all Jews were suffering greatly from anti-Semitism that prevailed in Europe. In 1894 Alfred Dreyfus, a young French Jewish captain on the French general staff was accused and imprisoned without a fair trial because he was Jewish. It took him 12 years to prove his innocence.    As a result of anti-Semitism and lack of paternal guidance, both boys later converted to Roman Catholicism.  In 1897 Otto, raised without a father, decided to abandon his Jewish name of Kohn and chose a new name by dropping his pencil on a map and where it landed became his name.  In 1901, Fritz joined him by taking his new chosen name.  They became the Kerry brothers as the pencil had  landed on Kerry, Ireland.  Fritz also changed his first name to Frederick and was called Fred.

Fred worked as an accountant at his uncle's shoe factory and married Ida Loewe, a Jewish musician from Budapest.  What's surprising is that he must have converted by then.  Ida was a descendant of Sinai Loew, a brother of Rabbi Judah Loew (Judah Low Ben Bezalel-1525-1609) who had been the chief rabbi of Moravia from 1533-73) .  He was the famous Kabbalist, philosopher and Talmudist known as the "Maharal of "Prague" who some say invented the character of the Golem.

Fred, Ida and their first son Erich were all baptized as Catholics.  In 1905 they immigrated to America, first living in Chicago and then settling down in Boston.  Two more children were born in the USA; Mildred in 1910 and Richard in 1915.  They lived in Brookline where Fred became a prominent shoe businessman, and they attended Sunday Catholic church services regularly.  Fred didn't dare tell a soul that he came from a Jewish family.  In 1921 at age 48 he got a room in a hotel in Boston and shot himself in the head.  It was before the crash of 29, so one can speculate that perhaps it was because of denying who he was.  He must have had a smattering of Judaism from his mother, and knew what a charade he was carrying on.  The burden was too much for him, also knowing what he had done to his wife and children.Ida died in 1960 in Sarasota, Florida at age 83.  

By 1938 the Jewish population was 45,000 in Moravia, and most died in the Holocaust.  Very few returned after WWII.

 Richard was only 6 years old when his father committed suicide.  He continued on with his life and attended Phillips Academy, Yale University and Harvard Law School.  He then served in the US Army Air Corps and worked in the US Dept. of State and later in the Foreign Service.  He married   Rosemary G. They had 4 children; Margery (l941), John (1943), Diana (1947), and Cameron (1950).  John was a Massachusetts Senator, and in 2004 was the Democratic Nominee for President. Today he is the appointee by President Obama to be the next Secretary of State.   Cameron married a Jewish woman and converted to Judaism in 1983 and is a prominent Boston lawyer.  These children's  grandmother,  Ida, had  siblings, Otto and Jenni Loewe,  who were killed in Nazi concentration camps (1942-1945). Richard died in 2000 and Rosemary 2 years later.

John Kerry didn't know that he had a paternal set of  Jewish great grandparents.  Neither did he know that his paternal  grandfather and grandmother were born Jewish but converted to Catholicism.  Today we're finding through DNA and genealogical interests in ancestors that there are other Americans with Jewish heritage from the rampage of anti-Semitic attitudes that prevailed in Europe.

Madeleine Albright, born May 15, 1937, didn't know that 3 of her 4 grandparents were Jewish until 1997 when she became the first female Secretary of State.  She was born as Marie Jana Korbelova of Prague, Czechoslovakia.  Her Jewish parents were Josef Korel, a Czech diplomat and  Anna Spieglova.  They converted to Catholicism due to the Holocaust when in exile in 1938.  She  converted to Episcopalianism  at the time of her marriage in 1959. Her father later was dean of a school of international studies  and taught Condoleezza Rice.  Albright is fluent in English, French, Russian, and Czech; she speaks and reads Polish and Serbo-Croatian as well

Retired 4 star General Wesley Clark has announced that his father was Jewish. He was also going to  run for president in 2004 but didn't when he heard that Kerry was running.  His great grandfather was a Belarusian Jewish man who immigrated to the USA from the Pale of Settlement because of all the anti-Semitic violence from the Russian pogroms.  Wesley's grandfather was Jacob Kanne, who had been Kohen.  His father was Benjamin Jacob Kanne.  Wesley's mother was a Methodist.

Anti-Semite Radio Star: Father Tadeusz Rydzyk, PhD

The Simon Wiesenthal Centre's Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, is concerned about  Catholic-Jewish relations.  Father Rydzyk, a 66 year old priest since 1971 has been condemned by several Polish bishops for inciting anti-semitism on his radio station, Marya, founded and managed by Rydzyk for the past 20 years.  He has also owned a newspaper and TV station as well.   In 2007, the BBC said that he had described the President, Lech Kacynski, as under the influence of the Jews.  This priest lived in Western Germany for 5 years before returning to Poland.  He doesn't bother to spread the gospel though his PhD is in theology.  He talks more about politics. 

Rydzyk was invited to the European Parliament last week by Polish MEP's where he said that Poland has not been ruled by Poles since 1939.  This was bringing out "Warsaw", again intimating that the country had been run by Jews.  In fact, Warsaw was the scene where Nazis had rounded up Jews from all over and held them in Warsaw in inhuman conditions, where the Jews took a last stand and fought back before being slaughtered.  In 1939, one-third of the city was Jewish.  There were 393,950 Jews living in Warsaw and were forced into a small ghetto by 1940 when the Holocaust was in full swing. 

Finally Jerzy Buzek, European Parliament President has condemned Rydzyk for harming Poland and has complained to the Holy See.  In response, Rev. Federico Lombardi, Vatican spokesman, said that "Rydzyk speaks in his own name and his statement does not involve the Holy See."  Pope Benedict XVI has reprimanded his anti-semitic broadcasts and by persisting is an embarrassment to the Holy Father. 

Catholics and Jews in Poland and the rest of the world feel that both Rydzyk and his radio progrms should be excommunicated.  My question is: If it has been going on for 20 years, why didn't any Pope stop him long ago?  In 2007 he had the audacity to call the then president's wife, Maria Kaczyniska a witch and told her that she should euthanize herself.  If that wasn't bad enough, he said that the president had cheated him. That such a man has a radio audience is indeed sad.  Why is it that deranged men such as Hitler and this hate-filled priest have such followings?  Anti-semitism has been a problem ever in the Catholic church since about 240 CE.  Such people as this priest only act as fuel for the fire of anti-semitism.

Catholics Sacrifice Israel's Well Being

Yesterday the Vatican City announced the findings of a two-week meeting of 246 Middle East bishops and religious leaders led by Pope Benedict XVI. They admit that the Koran is a text encouraging Islam to impose itself with permission to kill Christians. It gives orders to impose their religion with force, with the sword. They were all warned to guard against the spread of "terrorist ideology" in the modern world. Among the Catholics attending were Mohammad al-Sammak, political counsellor in Lebanon representing Sunni Islam, and Ayatollah Seyed Mostafa Mohaghegh Ahmadabadi, a professor in Tehran representing Shia Islam.

That must have been a strange meeting to have the people you are talking about and warning others of sitting in your midst. I am very surprised with this. I imagine they were there to hear the Pope give up Israel's rights.

So today these same Catholic bishops urged the United Nations to end the Israeli "occupation" of Arab lands at the end of a meeting chaired by Pope Benedict XVI. They asked the UN to work to find a peaceful solution in the region through the Security Council's resolutions which means for Israel to leave territories taken in 1967 war including east Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza.
They want the Palestinian people to have their independent homeland. The State of Israel will be able to have peace and security within their internationally recognized borders.

Jerusalem will have its proper status of 3 religions: Jewish, Christian and Muslim, they say, if Israel follows this. They came up with repeatedly saying that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the root of the tension in the whole Middle East, so now that they see they can be attacked by extreme Muslims, they are giving into their demands, thinking this will protect them.

What's worse, they blame the Israelis living in Judea and Samaria saying that they do not have a right to occupy the land anymore as "Christ's" presence abolished the promise G-d made to the Jews. Jews are no longer a favoured people, a chosen people. Now everyone is the chosen people, stated Lebanese-born Butros.

Regardless of the fact that we feel we have the bible to back our history that we lived in all of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria and Gaza two thousand years ago, we are basing our legal right to be there by the fact that we were attacked in 1967 and won that war. We had a great loss of people then and since the birth of our country, Israel. We've had to fight for the small piece that was finally settled on us in the first place. The Palestinians have not claimed these areas since then as their own state and will not recognize us. The reason there has been no settlement about it is that they will not live peacefully with us but mean by any means possible to force us out. Now they are using the Catholics. That was a quick win, wasn't it.

The rightous bishops have not been really studying the facts at all if they are so gullible as to think that by sacrificing Israel to pacify the Muslims will bring Cum By-yah to the area. They say they condemn violence and terrorism but by giving into these demands they have signed their own death warrents and certainly have not helped to keep our chances of staying in the small area we started with in 1948. I think this decision will go down in infamy.

1936 Catholics and Protestants Stood Up For Us Concerning Judea and Samaria-British the Problem

The British received the duty of taking care of a good chunk of the Ottoman Empire after it fell at the end of World War I.

Jews had been promised to have their Jewish Homeland from it. Then the British came up with their White Papers and rescinded their offer, partitioning "Palestine" with a good half for the Arabs.

At the Conference of Protestant and Catholic Leaders in 1936 they said the following. "It is the profound conviction of Christian America that the British Government rescind its illegal, unjust, and indefensible partition of Palestine, to restore Trans-Jordania to its proper place as part of Palestine territory, and throw it open to Jewish Settlement.

The British encouraged Arab immigration into the country, and acted impatient at stepped-up "illegal" Jewish immigration. Talk about prejudice. Some 30,000 Arabs from the Hauran over a 3 month period in 1934 were unreported and unrecognized by the government at the time Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany. It was a time when Jewish immigration had increased.

The British practiced some illegal mathematics. They deducted a number for illegal settlers who might enter the labour-market on a half-yearly basis from the Jewish quota. This was applied to the 1939 White Paper quota of Jewish immigrants to the Jewish-settled area of Western Palestine during and after WWII.

The British wee covering up and looking out for Arab illegals. From the beginning of the Mandate, Jewish immigration had been restricted by the British administration . They found so many excuses to keep from carrying out the law as it existed for Jews. In 1921, a large number of immigrants were refused admission to Palestine during the termporary suspension of immigrantion..according to Sir Wyndham Deedes, Chief Secretary to the Palestine Administration. Dr. Chaim Weizmann protested to Deedses, the wrong person.

John Gunther said in 1939 that from the beginning, Zionism faced not only political watering down of the Mandate but deep-seated antipathy from anti-Semitic British officials. The Jews were violently discriminated against--in what was presumably to be their own country.

Evidently no one listened to the religious group that at that time protested in favor of the Jews receiving the land they were promised. Now some of those Protestants , such as the Methodists, have forgotten all about that and engage in boycotts against Israel in favor of the Arabs. It's a weird world.

Croatia and Jews-Touching Portland

I have a distant relative in Croatia who just contacted me about a horrible situation happening to his family just because his grandfather had been Jewish. His family is being discriminated against and is facing eviction from their palatial home on the 12th of January at 9:00am.

The story is that his grandfather, Alfred Krupa, was a Polish Jew living there when the 2nd World War broke out unlike my grandfather who had left and had come to Oregon. Alfred Krupa could be a possible relative to Gene Krupa, the drummer. His family found themselves caught in the holocaust and had been moved from one Nazi death camp to another. His sister was burned alive by the Germans. He survived the gas chamber by a fortuitous act of G-d. Just as the guard was about to close the chamber door, a Russian air force squadron dive-bombed the camp and blew it into oblivion, but not where he was standing.

Alfred escaped amidst all the terror and mayhem but later found himself recruited into the Afrika Korps who, of all things, trained him for desert combat by sending him to a barracks nestled in the Tirolean Mountains. Once he had finished his induction, he was whisked off to the Balkans where his regiment was supposed to quell partisan insurgency and connected with the Ustazi and the Hungarians to assist with the extermination of the Jewish population!

A couple of days into his tour of duty his company was annihilated by a platoon of Croatian partisans. Again, Alfred managed to cheat death by hurling himself over a large rock only to find himself staring down the barrel of a partisan's rifle.

Alfred tried to explain to the lad that he was Polish but to no avail. Just as the chap was about to pull the trigger, a little old lady from the Red Cross suddenly jumped up, punched the partisan, and the gun discharged in mid-air. Discussions ensued and Alfred began his career as a Croatian partisan in charge of heavy gun batteries.

During this latest stage in his military vocation, Alfred assisted in the rescue of Winston Churchill's son, who had been shot down by German anti-aircraft guns, and he loyally served his adopted nation with honor and distinction. When he retired after the war he was feted as a highly decorated Croatian national hero.

Alfred Krupa moved to Karlovac, Croatia, married a local ethnic Croatian girl and spent the rest of his remaining years as a celebrated artist, considered to be one of the best watercolourists of the 20th century.

What happened to his growing family in Croatia, a country who had allied itsself with Hitler and had established a Nazi state? The Croatians had exterminated hundreds of thousands of Serbs and tens of thousands of Jews. If you visit the Yasenovatz death camp in Croatia, you will find Jews and Serbs buried there together in mass graves.

Alfred Krupa's family had converted to Catholicism. His son, Mladen continued the family's loyal military tradition. During their Balkan conflict of the early 1990's Major Mladen Krupa co-founded the Karlovac County regiment of the Croatian Army of Liberation and organized their engineering units. As the war continued, Mladen's son, Alfred Krupa Jr. managed to defect from the Yugoslavian forces and join his father as a non-commissioned officer. Both men served the Croatian Republic with loyalty and distinction as their sire, Alfred Sr. had done before them.

For the past three generations this Tarnawa-Krupa family have been lauded as prominent Croatian intellectuals and artists. Alfred is a leading professor of fine art, his works are displayed in Karlovac Museum and are a part of many private collections both in Croatia and across the world. He is a member of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce in London, the Croatian Society of Arts and the Croatian Society of Art Historians in Zagreb. His work has been exhibited in 16 single-artist exhibitions across Croatia and have formed part of many other exhibitions in Croatia and Germaniy.

Though they were once Jewish, they are now baptised Catholics who descended from an ancient Polish noble and royal family. Alfred Krupa Jr. introduced and established the Western European Catholic Order of Knights Templars in Croatia. He held the office of Grand Prior, assisted by his father. He was bestowed the title of Imperial Chevalier by HIH Crown Prince Jacobe Wossen, received a titular Duchy of Jerusalem and later served in the Knights Templars as Chief of Protocol in the Grand Preceptory of La Rochelle. All this hasn't prevented them from also receiving a terrible punishment for this past Jewish connection.

They had established a successful business, AutoKrupa Ltd. They had a beautiful home in the beautiful Palace of Karlovac. They had a perfect record of being excellent business men, paying its overheads, being financially sound and debt free. The family was financially well off and owned desirable property, were well liked and respected.

Their bankers, Zagrebacka Banka d.d. Of Zagreb invented a debt of 30,000 euros and charged it to their business, the guarantors being Major and Mrs. Mladen Tarnaawa-Krupa. Their home, worth some 250,,000 Euros was offered to their bank as surety.

On April 14, 2003, the bank filed a suit against them and have been trying to get their business and home. Now they face eviction on January 12, 2010. They have been fighting this ever since then.

They feel that even though they are baptised Catholics and having been excellent citizens of the Republic, they are known to be ultimately of Hebrew descent and this fact seems to have been enough of an excuse for racial hatred fueled by greed, jealousy and envy of the Croatian Mafia. The judges in the case are low paid who use their powers to do the bidding of their mob masters who use the police as their own private militia.

At the same time, Croatia hopes for absorbtion into Pan Europa and is to negotiate membership of the European Union. Are Europeans going to go along with this oppressive bankrupt regime that is governed by such a mafia-operating government?

This family faces complete anniliation and do not want to leave. They now fear for their very safety and physical existence. They may have to seek refugee status in Europe. Three generations away from being Jewish, and they they still may be paying the price for this country's anti-semitism. This is why to me Israel is so important a haven for Jews. There seems to be no end to anti-semitism in the world. Germany reacted the same way. If a person had one ancestor that was found to be Jewish, they were thrown into the concentration camps. It didn't matter what religion they were professing to be.

Until Croatia shapes up, tourists should think twice before contributing to their tourist industry by visiting there. We don't want to let them think that their behavior is acceptable and condoned.
