Kerry Sides With Palestinians-A Mistake to Ask for Jewish Recognition

Yasser Arafat (1929 in Cairo, Egypt- 2004)  started Fatah and then became the chairman of the PLO.  He fought against Israel all his life as well as having fought against Jordanians and Lebanese forces at other times.

Arafat married Suha in 1990.  She was able to receive from him $100,000 monthly.  $1.27  million from Switzerland went  to Paris for her.  Arafat had diverted $900 million to a special account for himself.  He had estimated his personal wealth at $300 million.  This must be why Fatah has no money and must get gifts from the other Arab states.  Even so, they have not been able to pay their utility bills to Israel who supplies them even while Hamas is raining down missiles, mortars and rockets on Israel and Fatah remains belligerent with the occasional deadly attacks on Israelis. What they manage to do is continue their education on their population of hatred for the Jews, TV programs teaching hate to the children, and geography lessons showing only Palestine and not Israel.

By 1994 was the Oslo accords.  Israel, for the sake of peace, recognized the PLO and made this terrorist group legitimate.  Unfortunately they did this right away instead of testing to see that "its deeds were consistent."   In return, Arafat recognized Israel, but not as a Jewish state.  He renounced terrorism, but it still continues in the hands of Hamas, which is a branch that broke off from Fatah.  Arafat made a promise to revoke the provisions of its covenant that calls for the destruction of Israel which Hamas still has and is following to the letter.
                                                                         

Last Thursday, March 13th, John Kerry told Congress that he thought it was unnecessary for the Palestinians to recognize Israel as a "Jewish" state and even said that this was a mistake for the Israelis to ask this of them.  He then said that Arafat had agreed that Israel would be a Jewish state and did this in 1988 and 2004.  This is not the case.

Even the US administration then felt that Arafat didn't satisfy their goal of his recognizing Israel's right to exist.  In 1988 what he said doesn't even come close to recognize Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people.  Toward the end of 1988, they tried to start a diplomatic dialogue between the PLO and USA.  Secretary of State Henry Kissinger then required the PLO to recognize Israel, accept UN 242 and renounce terrorism needed for any talking between the parties.

Arafat never issued a clear declaration recognizing Israel as a Jewish state.  He just summarized #181 and the US government said that Arafat's speech didn't meet the demand of recognizing the State of Israel.  So there was no meeting between the USA and the PLO then.

It was Tzipi Livni of Israel who insisted that "declared references must be made to Israel's right to exist as a Jewish State" in her official response to the 30 April 2003 Roadmap.

Kerry's remarks are copied from the Palestinian side and not the remarks of a mediator.  If Ambassador Alan Baker, Israel's ambassador to Canada, can explain the USA attitude taken at the time of the Oslo Accords, why couldn't Kerry's group of researchers?  Anyone that has followed or understands Israel's position would know the history involved and that the Palestinians have never recognized the state of Israel to be Jewish.  This is the crux of the matter between the two people. That's why Israel was asking for it.   If they were not a Jewish state they could then flood the country with Muslim Arabs and get away with it legally.  Israel would be dead.  It would then be renamed as Palestine.  Remember, without this recognition, there will not be an end to hostilities from the Palestinians.

The Two- Faced Iran Complains About the Two- Faced Negotiations of Kerry

Not too long ago, on June 20, 2009, there was a demonstration of the Iranian people who were aroused by the Arab Spring against their rulers, but that has been forgotten since their hard-line factions have seized more power. They were holding protests during their elections, and a beautiful Iranian girl was shot to death by the name of Neda Agha-Soltan, age 26.

Neda, a college student, was forced to quit school because of her dress and appearance of not covering her head and body.  That's why she attended the protest.  "She was shot in the heart by a Basij militia member who insisted he was not trying to kill her. Her death was captured on video by bystanders and broadcast over the Internet and the video became a rallying point for the opposition. It was described as "probably the most widely witnessed death in human history"

This time on Tuesday, millions of Iranians participated in rallies that the government backed which marked the 35th anniversary of the  Islamic revolution in 1979.  That was when on February 11th, Iranian religious revolutionaries declared victory over Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi who was backed by the USA.  Then the Shiite Muslim clerics came to power

The largest rally took place in their capital, Tehran,  where nuclear talks between Iran and and the USA and their allies were recalled, dominating the event.  They had posters and placards given out to the crowd which had slogans referring to John Kerry's recent remarks that, despite the discussions over the nuclear program, the military option remained on the table.   The placards therefore read, "We are eager for all options on the table."  Evidently they noticed a two-facedness from Kerry.  Young families pushing baby strollers were seen shouting, "Death to America!"  Other posters said, "We are ready for the great battle."  Other people called for the deaths of Obama and Kerry.

Back on the home front, Wendy Sherman, under secretary of state in the State Department  for political affairs,  conceded that the US failed to "shut down" Iran's working  on ballistic missiles.  These have long ranges and are the weapon to deliver a nuclear payload.  It's been 6 months of negotiating and they have to address this problem as part of a comprehensive agreement which will not be agreed on for at least another 6 months.  Tehran had a large window to perfect its weapons systems now.

The USA knows that Iran is going to launch 3 new satellites into space in the next few weeks.  This technology is like those used for ballistic missiles.  Leading experts are saying that Iran's space program is a cover for its ballistic missile work.  Iran's year ends on March 20th and they feel one of them will be launched by then.

Kerry and Wendy left all these problems unsolved.  They didn't address the delivery mechanism, the militarizing of nuclear arms.  Iran had breached a threshold everyone acknowledges and now they can build a bomb.  Senator Bob Corker, Republican from Tennessee, the committee's ranking member, asked them why this had happened.  Iran already has advanced centrifuges.  The situation had been left so that Iran is allowed to continue to perfect their nuclear delivery mechanism.  Few countries in the world possess both   the capability to enrich uranium to high levels and also have an advanced ballistic missile program.  Iran is now a nuclear power.  All they have to do now is to ramp up their uranium production.
                                                                         

Sherman said she is depending on the US to successfully convince Iran to give up its nuclear program.  In her opinion, Iran doesn't need to continue its work at Fordow or any need to the partially constructed heavy water reactor at Arak.  She has no doubt that Iran will have to scale back the number of nuclear centrifuges it is operating.  The question remains as to what will force them to do such a thing.  They are impervious to Kerry's suggestions.
                                                                         
Rouhani, the President of Iran, criticized the US threats against Iran already.  He said that if the negotiators respected Iran's rights, they would get a positive and appropriate answer from Iran, but he also warned that threats would only bring down the nuclear talks to a halt.  He didn't like the way they approached him in the past and doing so had put their nations, region and global welfare and stability in jeopardy.

The rally included re-enactments of scenes from the 1980s war between Iran and Iraq.  That war was so bad that children were serving as soldiers on both sides.
                                                                         

Remember when Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, warned the UN of how close Iran was in being able to make atomic weapons on September 27, 2012?   "Iran is 70 percent of the way there and ... well into the second stage," Netanyahu said while displaying the chart. "By next summer, at current enrichment rates, they will have finished the medium enrichment and moved on to the final stage. From there it is only a few more weeks before they have enriched enough for a bomb."  Everyone pooh-poohed him.  Now the window of opportunity is shut for Israel to halt their progress.  Kerry didn't comply with his warnings at all and now he can't call back the steps taken get Iran to the table to talk in the first place.  Everyone is just too eager to sell them their products being they have come into money.  What was working has been undone by the negotiators.

The Cuban missile crisis  happened when Russia and the USA were at odds.   "After the US had placed nuclear missiles in Turkey and Italy, aimed at Moscow, and the failed US attempt to overthrow the Cuban regime, in May 1962,  Nikita Khrushchev proposed the idea of placing Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba to deter any future invasion attempt. During a meeting between Khrushchev and Fidel Castro that July, a secret agreement was reached and construction of several missile sites began in the late summer."  Luckily that was averted. 

North and South Korea were going at each other just last year.   " It began because of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2087, which condemned North Korea for the launch of Kwangmyŏngsŏng-3 Unit 2. The crisis was marked by extreme escalation of rhetoric by the new North Korean administration under Kim Jong-un and actions suggesting imminent nuclear attacks against South Korea, Japan, and the United States.  North Korea denounced sanctions UNSC imposed under UNSC Resolution 2087. on the January 23 the government of North Korea announced the continuation of their tests not only devoted to missiles, but clearly with an effort to facilitate nuclear weapons purposes. Moreover, North Korea directly threatened the U.S., announcing that they could launch long-range missiles against that country.

Cuba and North Korea are enough to give the USA a headache as they are the opposite of such a Democratic country, but they are not in any way having a war of religion.  It's territory.  As with Iran, a Shiite country, this is a war of religions, and is much more serious.  Kerry doesn't seem to understand this.  Iran sees the end of the world coming and sees them in the power seat with the return of the 12th Iman.  It means to destroy Israel.  You can't put Iran in the same basket with Cuba and North Korea.  Netanyahu warned that you can't trust  Rouhani.  The negotiators did just that.

Wait a Minute: Abbas Has No Legitimate Power

Netanyahu and Kerry have been dealing with the PA official head who has no actual power to speak for all the Arabs calling themselves the "Palestinian Arabs."  Actually, they are not from one tribe or country but a conglomeration of all the neighboring states of Israel who came in seeking work in the late 1800's with the Jewish settlers who had previously arrived from Russia.  Like the Jews who had never left, there were Arabs who had been living on the land as well and some had even bought property.  Most of them had sold their land to the Jews and had taken off for better ports such as Beirut, Damascus or Paris.

Fatah was the PLO, the Palestinian Liberation originally led by Arafat .  Mahmoud Abbas was elected as their PA (Palestinian Authority) president 10 years ago.  He had been elected to serve one term of 4 years.  He never left and there has been no other elections.   His official term has expired a long time ago.  Therefore, he does not have the electoral legitimacy in his own party.  Fatah was grounded in Gaza, but when Hamas, a party of true terrorists won their election there putting Ismail Haniyeh, voted in on February 16, 2006,  as their Prime Minister,  Fatah was kicked out to live in Judea-Samaria.  By rights, he should be finished this February as well, having served 2 full after being voted on only once for a 4 year  term.  Hamas refuses to sign any peace deal with Israel.  They have a charter that calls for Israel's destruction.  One can only imagine the threats they were able to conjure up to receive the vote of their people, voting being very new to them.

1.7 million Arabs live in Gaza. 2,100,000 Arabs live in Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem.  500,000 Jews live there as well.  1.7 million Arabs live in Israel and have Israeli citizenship.   Having Abbas speak for all the Arabs of Fatah and Hamas violates the Palestinian Basic Law according to Abu Toameh, Palestinian Arab Israeli citizen who is a reporter for "The Jerusalem Post."  .  This allows for "constitutional and legislative anarchy in the Palestinian territories, for he has remained in power past his allowed term.  He cannot sign a peace agreement with Israel in the name of the "Palestinians" being they are a divided group.

Hamas is so violent a group that at a recent gathering of young Arabs in Gaza, he preached that educating the future generation to love death for the sake of Allah as much as our enemies love life should be their motto.  It was Golda Meier who had said that peace will come to Israel when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.  To love death is not the way to bring about peace.  To buy into such a philosophy is a sad comment on their culture.  We all know we must die eventually, but it is not a normal act to seek death out and prefer death over life, especially when you are just reaching your adult years.  This must be why Jews seek out the profession of medicine, to assist long life for all.  "May you live till your 120th year" is our wish at birthday events, for Moses lived till he was 120.  Palestinians have talked young people, sad people, depressed people and underachievers to become suicide bombers and to seek glory in death.

The question is, if the Arabs of Fatah and Hamas were given another chance at voting, would they vote as they had been previously or would they want to choose life and peace?  Abu Toameh thinks they should be given this chance and has called for John Kerry to continue to negotiate with Abbas even though his term expired long ago.  He would like to see such an election.

Since 1948, the Arabs outside of Israel calling themselves the Palestinian Arabs have been brainwashed into destroying Israel.  If 20- 25 years accounts for a generation, they have had almost 3 generations brought up to think this way.  Gazans have been under the most violent philosophy so I would think that some may want peace by now, but that the majority would vote as they did in 2006.  This way of thinking has become their religion, and they do not love their children enough to stop hating Jews.  It is the Arabs of Israel who have acclimated to living with Jews and finding out it's not like living with lions or tigers but that the law includes them as well, so they have rights and freedom that neither Fatah or Hamas have in life.

Kerry's Peace Deal with PA and Israel Due in April

For background in laying down talks this week, members of the World Economic Forum met back on May 26th of last year at the Dead Sea in Jordan to discuss getting peace between the Abbas PA group and Israel.  They decided on a $4 billion dollar package for the PA group to stimulate their economy.  The truth that they are not facing is that it will take more than money to stimulate them from being unwilling to make peace.  They need to change their whole attitude towards a Jewish nation among them.   Businessmen from both sides attended this meeting.  King Abdullah of Jordan is all for relaunching the peace negotiations.  Actually, he is in deep trouble of losing his crown if the Arab Spring takes over his country like it did in Syria, so peace is very meaningful for him as well.

 Back in 1967 after the war, Israel did everything in their power to assist and teach the Arabs in their economic pursuits, but they rebelled against it.  The PA's aim was not to be successful but to be a thorn in the side of Israel.  Note that when Israel pulled out of Gaza, they left their businesses that could have been used by the future Hamas terrorists, but they destroyed them.  The business they have been in has been to agitate and cause fear into the southern Israelis, and hopefully, even to kill a few.

Attending this conference this year were representatives from all the countries in the world with at least one person.  It was attended by  the USA with 72 members, UK with 31, China with 10, Canada with 9, Switzerland with 8, Germany and France with 7 each, Mexico with 5.  Kerry gave the opening speech.

Kerry and Barack Obama, President of the USA, are very disappointed in the Jewish complaints over their treatment in the 11 meetings they've had in these peace discussions with the Palestinians.  Israel has been placed in security risks in Kerry's plans and this Israel can't buy into. After a 90 minute meeting of the minds, Netanyahu let Kerry know that he will not uproot the Jews living in the Jordan Valley, which is 62 miles long and goes from the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea.  Jericho and Jenin are in the Jordan Valley and are Muslim centers today. Sderot, Beer Sheva and Masada are major Jewish cities in the Jordan Valley.  Kibbutz Degania Aleph, the first major kibbutz lies there as well.

Evidently Kerry and Obama have a higher optimism level than the Israelis do.  Israel needs the security that they have attained after the 1967 attack of all the Arab nations and realize that in itself was a miracle.  They lost lives they do not wish to repeat again since the Arabs have continuously attacked them since 1948.  It happened in 1956, 1967, 1973, 1981-82, and has been repeatedly happening in-between these major but short wars.  Since 2001, southern Israel has been rained upon with missiles, mortars and rockets.  Their neighbors, Lebanon and Syria in the north have a line-up of rockets aimed at them.  Security in a hostile neighborhood is of the utmost requirement for peace with people who covet your land.  Kerry must remember that all the official hoops required to gain this land was official back in the 1920's with the League of Nations and that Israel had already lost 80% of that promised land to Jordan who became Jordan out of it.  Now, it's a fight to keep this 20% left for the Jewish homeland of Israel.  Everyone knows, except Kerry and Obama, that the aim of the Arabs is to take that 20%.   In that, they must know the truth, but are unwilling to accept it as it goes against their agenda.

Netanyahu and Kerry spoke in private during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.  Later Kerry was to give an important address on the Middle East to this forum.  Earlier Kerry had spoken with Tzipi Livni, Israel's top negotiator.  The PA negotiators will get to go to Washington this week for their private talks with him.  "Some critics of the administration have suggested that Kerry is spending too much time trying to bring the Israelis and Palestinians together and not enough time dealing with more urgent crises."

 Kerry's speech started off attacking President Assad of Syria.  Kerry isn't winning any points since Syria was not acted on by the USA.   Instead, the USA managed to arm the rebels who have been just as bad as Assad's regime in slaughtering people.  About 130,000 have died in this ongoing Civil War.  The Arab Gulf allies of Saudi Arabia and their peers are not happy with the USA and their dealings in the Middle East.  Kerry's defense in this round will be to talk about his commitment to engagement in every region in the world, even though their engagement in Syria was very little and took its time in coming to the point of aiding and abetting certain rebel groups.  He will make the point of being committed to diplomacy, but even that is turning out to be one-sided in matters between Israel and the Arabs being he sides with the Arabs more.  This Civil War has gone on for 3 years now.  Millions have lost their homes and jobs and are either in refugee camps or might be heading there as countries like Egypt are discharging refugees to leave their countries.

Being Kerry has visited the Middle East with the Peace Talk agenda 11 times already, he can say that the USA has not disengaged from this goal.  He has let down much of the world, especially Israel in the Iranian discussions over their nuclear weapons program which is continuing with his guidance where Israel and other wary countries needed to hear that it was not only contained but stopped.  Not much was gained with Iran at all.  Sanctions were lifted that can never be reinstated.  The heavy hand was lifted by Kerry's policy.

Kerry's method of arbitration and discussion as been to push Israel the hardest and the Palestinians a little to accept tough changes in their policies.  Israel is always the one who gives into the hope for peace by giving land in a deal.  The last one was Gaza which turned out to be a disaster.  Hopefully, Tzipi Livni will not forget this in her decisions.  Israel gives and the Arabs take, which  has been the pattern for the past 66 years.  It's time it changes, and to do that would take a whole new charter for the millions of Arab Muslims.  Hamas's charter, with Hamas ruling in Gaza, is exactly like the Muslim Brotherhood's charter, an extreme goal of taking Israel and ruling over everyone with their brand of religion.  Buyer, beware.  Six months down and three more to go.  The end of the peace talks is in April.  How many more meetings will Kerry extend himself in order to reach his goal?  What about Hamas and Gaza, now?  What more does he think he can do with that can of worms?

Two Strikes: Kerry's Siding with PA Arabs Plus Lifting Sanctions on Iran

Our friends, the USA, are acting might unfriendly.  Israel has been hit with seeing John Kerry, negotiator, whose job it is to be fair with both sides,   to side with the PA Arabs against Israel.
                                                                               

This was shown by Kerry's visit to Israel this past month as the facilitator which turned out to be  a diplomatic disaster.  He wound up threatening Israel with a 3rd intifada which in reality gives the Arabs the green light to go ahead and act upon it.  Not only that, but he pledged over $75 million in financial support to the Palestinian Arabs. This was Friday, November 8, 2013 when he spent all of 2 hours and 15 minutes talking with Netnayahu.   The USA are not the only ones to have done this throughout the past 65 years, of course, and the Arabs are still in the red without a state as it is.
                                                                       

The main worry for Netanyahu is Iran and the possible A bomb intended for his tiny country.  This is not paranoia but real reasons for worry, since Iran is the loudest and filthiest in verbal threats on this Jewish state. Israel and Jews have been called everything from viruses to pigs and apes verbally and threatened over and over to be destroyed by them.  Iran has been working day and night to create the uranium capabilities despite the UN interference of trying to see what's going on.  They would be the 3rd country to try to develop nuclear capabilities aimed to destroy Israel, so there's more than enough reason to worry about it.  .
Obama has been working to lift sanctions for the past 5 months on Iran which has been damaging their economics meant to talk them into allowing inspectors in and to not manufacture the needed uranium for bombs.  Iran thinks they can get away with saying it's all for medical things, but the world is a little smarter than that.  We know their intentions, and have heard them all loud and clear.  Obama's people have not made a deal  with Iran to stifle their ongoing deadly progress and neither has Obama had Congressional approval to lift these sanctions that were set in place but Kerry has gone ahead and has done it.  .

Now Barack Obama refuses to answer the phone calls from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu even though Netanyahu has called him many times.  This source is from Kuwaiti News Al-Jarida.   This nuclear Iran is not something Israel can  live with, and neither can  some  Muslim Middle East countries either, as this is a power play that threatens all of them.  This Israel-USA difference threatens the already sensitive alliance they thought they shared.

Obama  warned Congress against further sanctions on Iran  just last Thursday and said that a deal in the works could prevent the "unintended consequences" of war. That must be the 5 month stall to see if Kerry's team can come up with something.   Obama added that they are pursuing diplomacy so they don't want to add new sanctions on top of sanctions that are already effective that brought Iran to the table in the first place. Actually, according to new reports, key conditions for Iran's relief from sanctions had already started 5 months ago.  Kerry has added his jibe with his direction to Republican senators " to ignore anything the Israelis say about the issue."   Really?  Just ignore their fears and why?

Netanyahu, however, is speaking out and urging world leaders to avoid this deal for the sake of Israel and international safety from a nuclear Iran.  Though Israel agrees with a diplomatic fix over any other options, they want a real diplomatic solution that will dismantle Iran's military nuclear capabilities.

Netanyahu feels that the proposal on the table is a bad deal.  It leaves Iran with nuclear capabilities for military use and provides it with a lot of easing of sanctions.  The other danger is that it gives Iran legitimacy to be a nuclear threshold state.  That goes against the whole international community.

This was said at the Bloomberg Fuel Choices Summit. At least  Russia's President Vladimir Putin will be visiting Netanyahu to talk about Iran and preceding him will be France's President, Francois Hollande.

The American congress is not in agreement with Kerry.  They are for preparing more sanctions against Iran to bring about the dismantling, and Kerry, of course, feels that more sanctions would break apart nuclear talks with Tehran.  I ask, what good are talks if they're not ready to come around to giving up their desire to have an A bomb?  Is this what our gasoline money has been paying for?   I would be all for buying gas from Saudi Arabia or another country not involved with the A bomb creation.

Naftali  Bennett and Jewish Home members rallied US support for the Israeli viewpoint while US ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, has tried to win over Israeli public support to the USA side.  A poll shows that most Israelis believe Netanyahu's viewpoint and would back a strike on Iran even if they have to go it alone.  The fear of Iran with nuclear power is greater than anything.  It would mean their immediate destruction with one bomb dropped.  That's all it would take.  One cannot live with such a constant threat.  We've reached the ultimate point.

Iran did halt their uranium enrichment process from August to November but that was only for maintenance purposes.  They are now able to do the needed conversion faster.  "Iran says it is refining uranium to produce energy. But its refusal so far to scale back its nuclear program and open it up to unfettered IAEA inspections has drawn tough sanctions that have severely damaged its oil-dependent economy."

Whatever did Obama mean when he said that he had Israel's back?  This American saying has always meant that 2 friends will protect each other.  Has this been misinterpreted by Israel?  I think the trust that Israel had in the USA has been shaken.  What gets to me is how can Obama feel safe with such a threat in the world?  It wouldn't take much to pass that power onto countries closer to the USA and threaten it as well.  Anything is possible today with enough money being the bait.  Ethics and morality is something almost forgotten.

Now, one thing more.  It is not known whether Israel has atomic facilities or an A bomb, but it has been in existence since May 14, 1948 and has never threatened any country with one or has never used an A bomb though it has been in many wars during it's creation and since then.  It has had to take the bull by the horns and wipe out a nuclear reactor Osirak  outside of Baghdad, Iraq on June 7, 1981 in Operation Opera.  They were criticized for it, but again, that was a regime that was threatening Israel's existence.  They hit the  reactor, not the people.  Then again on September 6, 2007, Israel's Operation Orchard hit another nuclear facility with a military purpose in Dier Ez Zor area in Syria. This time, 10 North Korean workers there were killed who were workers on this project.    It is enough to have the allusion of having atomic capabilities to ward off its enemies.  I wouldn't put this fact to the test, if I were them.  It's liable to be true.  That's about what Iran is doing.

"The US and its allies narrowed their differences with Tehran after three days of intense diplomatic efforts in Geneva but failed to produce a breakthrough in the decade-long dispute."  Iran knows how to stall and to get its own way.

US-Israel About to be Unfriended

Today's Sunday Oregonian issue has an article in it on page A13 where I don't know whether to laugh or to cry.  "U.S., Israel can't agree on diplomacy" makes me scream out, "What's the matter with you, John Kerry!  Why haven't you learned anything about Israel and its problems that they need to defend in order to exist in this world?"  There is evidence from this article that he doesn't get it at all, and here he is, in charge of Israel's dealings with the world, and he's anti-Israel.

I'm not the only one up in arms about today's dealings.  Diplomatic correspondent, Chemi Shalev of Haaretz newspaper in Israel wrote on their website that if you compare weather with Israel and the USA right now, this is a "superstorm" of relations.  We're talking about an issue that has been critical to Israel for a long long time concerning their very existence.

Kerry was said to question in a broadcasted interview Israel's seriousness about peace with the Palestinians.  How dare he even think that - is my gut reaction.  Kerry has no idea of what is going on with the goals of the neighbors of Israel and what Israel is up against in dealings.  It's a poker game of the extreme, played by master chessmen who plot and scheme from beginning of the game to checkmate, and Kerry is simply a checker player.

The thing Netanyahu and the rest of Israel want most in this world is peace, but they have already lost 80% of what was originally promised to them in the Balfour Doctrine through dealings with Britain where they were really cheated out of land including far more than just Judea and Samaria-that and the whole state of what is today, Jordan.  That had originally been promised and planned by the nations of the world to be the Jewish Homeland.  Hoodwinked by the act of taking it outright, Israel lost it to Abdullah who created Transjordan, then later named it Jordan.  There went 80%.  Now Israel had gained back Judea and Samaria after being at war-attacked first by all the neighboring states - and winning.  Yes, winning the land back after much bloodshed.  So now we have John Kerry who insists we have no rights and are to give it back, meaning that all our people have to move out in order for it to be Judenrein like in the Nazi era?  We've already moved out of Gaza for the sake of peace, lock, stock and barrel in the name of peace, and did this lead to peace?  Did any country carry or give a ...about it or help Israel in her hour of need?  No.  We've been under attack since 2001.  It hasn't let up.

Threats have been coming from Iran to  completely destroy Israel.  The steps Islamic countries usually take is to warn first, then attack.  Israel has been warned and now she's watching the progress of the death machine they plot to use.  They are heading for atomic energy where they will have the capability to make atomic weapons.  Saudi Arabia even feels threatened and that's because they are Sunnis and not Shi'a.  The USA is taking this lightly, as if it is a joke.

Israel happens to be the only Jewish state in the world, a state as big as New Jersey which is one of the smallest in the USA.  It's like being Washington DC and the 50 states are all out to destroy their capital.

This article brings out the uncomfortable relationship between Obama and Netanyahu that both had tried to keep in abeyance.  The world knows that Netanyahu has vowed to do anything, including a military strike, to prevent Iran from reaching the point of being able to produce atomic weapons, for they know such a thing would be used on Israel.

I remember well the lecture Netanyahu gave to seemingly simple-minded Obama on TV after Obama was all for Israel to go back to the 67 lines, and Netanyahu was so shocked that he blurted out all the reasons why that was impossible for Israel's security.  Really, it showed up Obama's ignorance of the land and previous wars that Israel has had to fight.  How about the time Netanyahu was at the White House for a meeting with his staff and they were ushered in through the back door, and were not invited for dinner but kept in  a room to keep coming up with ideas.  That burned me up!  How many statesmen have been treated like that?  Obama was showing his feelings, not his diplomacy that time, and he was being crude and rude..

Josef Federman says it correctly in this AP piece that there is a lack of chemistry coming from vastly different world views. That's the problem.  Why aren't the people working with Israel studying their world?   I'm not really sure what Obama stands for, but Netanyahu believes that Israel can't trust any promises from other countries, having been burned so many times already, and must protect itself.  He's been under the delusion that he could trust Obama like Israel has of other past presidents.  He thought that they were on the same page, but dealings have showed they are not.

Why can't the USA understand what has been happening?  Israel gives in and gives in; land for peace after being attacked, and their enemies are never asked to give a thing.  This is happening right now.  Israel won a bloody battle in 1967 and again in 1973 and again in 1982 and again and again and yet they are the ones to give in?  Give land up that is so small?  Follow this rule and Israel will be a mile square island in a sea of sharks and will then be gobbled up.

Even in the Middle East in a shuk, there is give and take until an agreement is made.  You don't cave in immediately. That's what Kerry is doing.  Let's get this over with and the Palestinians are such good people, that Israel has to go along with whatever outlandish demands they make?  Israel has already let out monstrous criminals that they have demanded and that only has whet their appetite to make more demands.  The Palestinians have stuck their big toe into the water and found it was warm.  Now they're jumping into the pool.  There is no barrier to their demands on Israel, and Iran has received the same treatment.  They have been given the green light as well.  My, Kerry is really a hard negotiator.  He's really earning his money.  Just say yes to everything to the enemies of Israel, and then blame Israel.

Ever since Harry S. Truman  backed Israel's right to exist and to come into this world, the USA has been of the same mind.  Up till now, Israel has been the USA's friend in the Middle East when others haven't, and vice versa.  Our very leadership today is not made of the same mettle.  Federman wrote that Obama is a proponent of diplomacy and consensus.  Well, he hasn't been very diplomatic with Israel unless the cameras are on him.  As to consensus, he's made a lot of decisions without our Senators' approval.  Either he makes decisions on his own or waits too long and then all is swept under the rug, like Syria or Benghazi.

 Barack Obama's approval rate from Jan 20, 2000 to now has sunk to 49%.  His high was 69% from Jan uary 22-24, 2009 and low was 38%. October 15-17, 2011.  With ObamaCare's results right now it should reflect an even lower score.  This change, something he brought into his office, is bombing. He warned and ran on change, and he certainly has changed all our ways and means including our bank accounts.   Where Israel was a friend, Kerry  just unfriended her.    No, Israel should not go along with these one-sided demands.  There's nothing in it to protect Israel from another battle breaking out.

Iran, Sponsor of Terrorism and an Atomic Bomb: Kerry Eased Up Sanctions

So far, the Obama Administration has "promised us a Cadillac but delivers us a 3 speed bicycle with 2 flat tires".  It's hard to tell where we have arrived with Iran at this point in time on this bicycle pedaled by John Kerry, but you can bet your booties that Israel and Saudi Arabia are not happy with it at all.   John Kerry doesn't seem to mind that.  However, "while the U.S. has welcomed the moderate statements by Rouhani, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said in a meeting with Netanyahu last week that no deal with Iran was better than a bad deal.

The negotiators  nodded positively to Iran to lift for 6 months some financial sanctions that have crippled the Iranian economy.  "Ah, fellas, we really didn't mean to do that!   So sorry."  After all, Iran has only threatened 100 times to drive Israel into the sea,  Israelis being only apes and pigs and such like saying they had no history in Israel at all.  Whatever is bothering Israel about their rants and ravings? The negotiators think they have reached a deal to curtail Iran's nuclear program and expand inspections in exchange for  lifting sanctions, which was keeping them from getting to their goal in the first place.  Wasn't it Obama that assured Netnayahu that they were standing together in this?  Obama wasn't going to let Iran get the uranium power?

Saudi Arabia joins Israel in their worry about a Shi'ite power threatening their Sunni position in the Middle East.  For some reason, John Kerry, Secretary of State of the USA and Javed Zarif, Iranian Foreign Minister are telling us that this will keep the Middle East from exploding into military action and that now there will be no nuclear standoff.

There has been this international demand that Iran halt the expansion of its uranium enrichment program.  We have had a freeze on the installation of new centrifuges.  They are high-speed machines that produce low-enriched uranium for power plants and highly enriched uranium for nuclear warheads.  It's the evidence that Iran would dare to make an atomic bomb and drop it on Israel that goes along with their vile threats because they dared to return to their lands.

So after putting in only 5 hours, ending at the late hour of 11:30 pm, Kerry, Zarif and the Baroness Catherine Ashton, the EU's chief foreign affairs official, had had it.  Goodness knows what they were doing before to wipe them out or where they went afterwards.   The meeting took place in Geneva, Switzerland at the EU's Mission to the UN.  Their days must start at a late hour.
                                                                         

They thought they would end the evening with a simple signing ceremony and see now that talks must continue next week!  They have been disagreeing over Iran's building a plutonium reactor which would lead to an atomic bomb.  This interim accord they want to reach just hasn't got there yet, and they've already said they'd lift these sanctions.

There was a time when Jews loved Iranians.  It was back in the days when Babylonia had conquered Jerusalem and had taken thousands as prisoners and hauled them to Babylonia in 597 and also in 586 BCE.  Then along came our Prince Charming, Cyrus, II who died in 529 BCE, King of Persia, who conquered the Babylonians who had power over the old Israel and Judah.   He took on an enlightened policy towards his subject peoples and in 538 BCE, granted permission to the Jewish exiles of Judah living in Babylon to return to their homeland and rebuild their Temple.  The Jews thought of him as a divine person and loved him for this.  Persia was the home of Jews who lived throughout its 127 provinces and many had lived in the capital, Susa (Shushan) from the 4th century BCE onward.  The Babylonian Talmud was written here during Persian rule.  Our history of the beautiful Queen Esther being married to King Ahashueros of Persia is celebrated in Purim every Spring when it was she who saved all the Jews in the world from total extermination from the mad Haman, the king's advisor.  I've even read that Cyrus could have been the son of Queen Esther.  Maybe it was Cyrus Ist.

WWI changed much of the Middle East with the Ottoman Empire losing along with Germany.  It also affected Persia where the British, Ottomans and Russians occupied it in 1910 before the war even started.  Reza Shah became King of Iran in 1925, establishing a new name along with his new government.

Jews fared well under the Shah, but not afterwards when he was exiled by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1979 .  Life for Jews in Iran started to change with the Khomeini revolution in 1978.  Many felt very uncomfortable under the strict Islamic regime which he established  and left for Israel and the west.  Their numbers went from 80,000 in 1978 to 20,000 in 1989.  I know of some teen-aged boys who had to escape on camels during this period as they were not allowed to leave, so I doubt if you'll find any Jews speaking out against the regime today.  Living under an Ayatollah is a fact.  The president takes orders from him.  This is a religious state with a population of more than 76,923,300.  Iran is bigger than Texas.

Kerry is not a man from the shuks (outdoor markets where bartering is the rule).  He doesn't know how to bargain like a Middle Easterner.  He was putty in Zarif's hands, and probably Zarif used his charm on the Baroness as well.  I can only imagine as I wasn't there, but what a setting for a movie.  He isn't thinking about Hezbollah, who hit our Marine Barracks in Lebanon in 1983,  and that Hezbollah is funded by Iran.  For the past 30 years this has been going on and they are now strategic partners with Iran.

These 3 negotiators think that they have solved a problem of Israel bombing Iran's uranium center. By easing the sanctions that did touch the nerve centers of Iran, they have eased up to give them just what they wanted; wiggle room.  During the next 6 months, Kerry thinks he can get a requirement that Iran will disclose their full history of their nuclear program that they have managed to keep secret for 18 years.  Why should they ever do that?  Where's the carrot to offer? They've got it!   We're giving them what they want.  They'll be free to secretly build now without economic worries.  Kerry can wait for another 18 years and won't see anything but what they will allow the USA to see.  They're big shots, now.  They have stared down the big powers and got the sanctions lifted with one negotiator before midnight.

This is changing the balance of regional power and is taking away the Sunni Muslim power in the Middle East and giving it to the Shi'a. Look what they just accomplished!   This means that Hezbollah will have a freer hand with more finances coming from Iran.

Does anyone remember the war in 1980's between Iran and Iraq?  That was Sunni and Shi'a.  It was pretty gruesome.  It started in September 1980 and ended in August 1988. Iran had become a power with an Ayatollah and the balance had changed.

So What? Did Abbas Really Leave the Peace Table?

                                                      The Peace Table:  Is it now empty?

The word floating around Cairo's TV news was that the peace talks between Abbas and Israel faltered seriously yesterday or ended.  Today's headlines out of Amman, Jordan read, "Kerry warns of violence if peace talks fail."

 To divert people's attention from Abbas, the news just announced that Arafat's test shows that he just may have been poisoned by polonium after all which is pointing a finger towards Israel. It sounds more like something that Iran could have had in their cupboard of uranium-like ingredients.   Arafat's the one who wouldn't make peace, being the head of the PLO-the origin of Fatah.  It couldn't have been someone eager to take Arafat's place, G-d forbid, could it?  Abbas is an impatient soul.  After all, Arafat, after putting up with him for 56 years, was already an icon to Israel.  An enemy you know is better than one you don't know.  He was old already at age 75 and in poor health from some of his exploits.  So now Israel is going to poison him?  Come on, people.

John Kerry, US Secretary of State, warned Israel by telling this tiny state that they face international isolation and possibly more violence if it doesn't make progress in their efforts with the Palestinians.  Israel has already released violent criminals that should have been executed in any other Democratic state with such a penalty, but because Israel has no death sentence, were in prison.  Israel has been compliant to this Palestinian demand, as distasteful and dangerous as it was.    Now, what have they done in turn for Israel?  Oh yes, they've had a hissy over Israel building apartment buildings in Judea-Samaria.

 The article remains silent about any comments to the Palestinians from Kerry.  Only Israel is chastised and threatened by the USA.
                                                                     

All the Palestinians have to do is mention de-legitimization of Israel which is said to be already happening in certain circles.  I suppose international law, recognition of Israel by the UN by all the states isn't enough for Kerry to stand his ground for Israel.

Oh, if Israel doesn't comply, they may face the consequence of the Palestinians being led by a violent leader.  I imagine he's talking about Hamas, who already has much control and has been sending down mortars, rockets and missiles into Israel since 2001.  I don't think  that Kerry has done much about that in any leverage in defense for Israel.  He's not a speaker for Israel, anyway.  He's just a moderator with the job of keeping them talking till April 14th, 2014.  He's threatening more conflict.  Well, Israel has had that to put up with since 1948.  There's been very few people who ever stepped in to defend Israel's rights like there has been for the Palestinians, I note.

Jordan is making known what they  would like to have as well.  They expect a common border with this state of Palestine, the fate of the multiplying refugees displaced in 1967's war and of course, Jerusalem where Jordan has the custody now of the Christian and Muslim holy sites.  Will Jordan lose this to Palestine?  He's also complaining about Israel's building in what Palestine wants as their state, a state without any Jewish building on it.  Or people.  They do not want Jews to live in their state, only Muslims.  They don't have the altruistic attitude of   Israel or even the USA who are homes to diverse people.  They want to be the 23rd state of an all Arab all Muslim state, and they are in the act of trying to take over other religion's holy sites as well.
                                                                   
Netanyahu has explained to Obama many times that Israel will not withdraw to any pre-1967 lines because they are indefensible.  Are countries asking Israel to commit suicide?  There are other expectations that are important to Israel that are not being met.  They want to be recognized as the Jewish state.   Jews were treated as dhimmis in the Middle East, a 2nd class or lower status.  The Arabs find this a hard bone to swallow with their bloated pride.  They are planning to get back property they never owned in the first place in the heart of Israel.  Israel isn't about to give up 1/4th of Jerusalem called East Jerusalem to them, either.  It's a Jewish capital, the  capital of David, King of Israel, and not a Muslim holding.  They're doing just fine, better than ever when they were in Jordanian hands.

I wonder if anyone remembers that it was through Israel's blood and defense that they won in 1967.  Israel won that  attack.  Why should they be the ones to suffer and give  everything dear up when the losers lost?  Isn't that why people fight wars?

Sitting down and making peace with people who really have peace in their heart seems like a dream.  I know it has happened with other countries in the past.  It happened between the USA and Mexico and the USA and Japan.  It happened with USA and Canada.  It had happened with England and France and even the European  with countries and Germany.   Most all of us just want to enjoy life and live happily ever after.  We want to succeed in our endeavors to provide for our family a stable environment.  We want to enjoy the fruits of our culture; computers, I-pads, videos, movies, great schools,  our beliefs in G-d, have the right to visit and see the world.  Harboring only destruction of a people changes their view of all this.  This is what Israel is up against- a people who for for almost 66 years refuse to accept Israel and have fought them. Whereas Egypt and Jordan finally came around and signed peace accords, Palestinians have not. For people who never had a country, they are very demanding, if nothing else.  These Arabs are a hodgpodge from the surrounding areas in the first place, not a displaced people.  They came, they saw, they worked for the Jews and now they want their land.

The Palestinians had been offered their own state of Palestine in 1948 when Israel accepted a bad deal that was the remains of conferencing with the British for years with their offered deal in the Balfour Declaration.  That was a broken paper by the British, but Israel decided that something was better than nothing.;  However, the Palestinians' thinking is that nothing is better as they'll wait  to take everything.  No way, Abbas, you had your chance.  Now make peace and quit  with your demands and  braggadocia about your terrific suicide bombers and such and how this is your idea of a culture to live next to Israel who on your maps has been erased, or never posted at all.  I for one am not broken up if you leave this peace table.  You offer very little anyway but trouble.  I see no peaceful living at the end of the tunnel with you.

Double Talk At UN From Obama

Talk about mixed messages and how to try to stay friendly with opposing groups, Obama is an expert.  Tuesday at the UN annual meeting, he spoke about being glad to see a "growing recognition within Israel that the occupation of the West Bank is tearing at the democratic fabric of the Jewish state."

Where does he get that information?  The so called West Bank, named only by Jordan when they illegally occupied the land which was Judea and Samaria, long ago Jewish states from the days of Joshua and the 12 Tribes of Jacob.  Now that was an illegal occupation.  The land was officially part of the designated Jewish Homeland as described by the League of Nations.  The land now Jordan was part of that Homeland.  Then England backed off and altered the course of history.  The land West of the Jordan was still part of the Homeland.

Part of that land, which is divided into areas which then are designated as to who can settle there or not or what it is used for, is a buffer between Israel and Jordan, meaning the hordes of Arabs that have tried to come across previously.  It's necessary for survival.

 Instead of sitting down and making peace with Israel, Arabs have refused to recognize this Jewish state because it is a Jewish state and they seem to think that is  conflicting to their Muslim stand in the community.  That they all are monotheistic and that Arabs and Jews are both a Semitic people and have been cousins for thousands of years doesn't seen to cut it.  That the Jewish Homeland as found was in a terrible neglectful state after being held by the Ottoman Empire for 400 years doesn't seem to matter to them.  That it was only a latrine for wandering nomads on camels and was only bearing weeds makes not a speck of difference.  That the Jews have turned it into a Utopia makes them covet the land now.  NOW they want it.

Obama seems to want to forget that war of 1967 when all the greedy Arabs again attacked Israel and when Israel miraculously won the war without one American soldier helping out.  Alone in battle they withstood the enemy much to the consternation of those that wish to drive Israel into the sea for only G-d knows why, jealousy perhaps?  About 600,000 Israelis live in Eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.  Samaria, incidentally, is the name of ancient Israel whose capital was Samaria after King Solomon had died in 920 BCE.  Yes, we go back over 3,000 years to that date, far longer than most of the nomadic Arabs who actually came in from Syria and who thought of themselves as Syrian not too long ago.

Obama then commiserated with the Arabs of Ramalla who he recognized as understandably cynical and frustrated who have to "endure daily indignity of occupation."   What kind of indignity is he dreaming of?  He's intimating that Israelis, who have undergone the worst indignities of the Holocaust, of Pogroms, even of the indignity of living under occupation themselves in Jerusalem before Jesus was born and afterwards, wouldn't try to emulate?  The very words conjure up rabid pictures making Israelis look like the enemy of Obama.

The President  is being conciliatory with the Palestinians and shows that he is on their side of fighting Israel which has existed for the past 65 years.  Bringing in a state of Palestine which continues to teach people to hate Israel and that it doesn't even exist by showing maps without it is not a friendly move.   Israel has had to fight how many wars and constant skirmishes, human bombers, constant bombing of missiles, mortars and rockets in the past 13 years from Gaza?  It's because they've never been told straight that in order to have their own state for what ever reason they must be a friendly state.  Enough with these attacks from them and all their neighbors who lead them.

It was just 4 days ago that an Israeli soldier was shot dead by an Arab told to continue killing.  This happened in Hebron where 500 Jews dare to live among the 100,000 Arabs.  I wonder what Oregonians would do if suddenly Portlanders decided that they couldn't abide their Chinese community?  Or their Arab community?  Well, you see, the future Palestine will kick out all Jews.  It's to be Arab only.  This is called Apartheid, but who cares?  Only people who idiotically call Israel an Apartheid state, with its Jews from every corner of the globe along with 1.4 Arabs.  But then, who looks up definitions?

It's like this.  If you have a peaceful family oriented neighborhood, you're going to be upset when a drug warlord moves in who kills his neighbors if they complain about the traffic, the shooting of innocent nearby people, and the cops who have to constantly come to arrest someone for disturbing the peace and breaking the law.  If they want to live there, they have to shape up or ship out.  You don't side with these obnoxious characters who don't want to abide by rules of conduct in a civilized society.

I've seen Kerry in action on TV.  He could deliver the message, good and strong.  The USA will back a Palestine only under certain requirements.  Meet that and you might stand a chance.  Shape up or ship out.  Instead, Obama stated that  "allowing the PA to create the Arab state it seeks is the only way to peace."
No preconditions.  Give in to their demands.  That's going to lead to peace?  It's going to lead to them and everyone else in the Middle East to demand what they want and they will figure they will get it.  They've got leaders buffaloed.

Then Obama comes back rather weakly now after that statement with "Friends of Israel, including the United States, (not the USA and friends) must recognize that Israel's security....depends on the realization of a Palestinian state."  As I see it, this means a threat to Israel's security because they are changing their goals or their methods.  They will have a better chance than ever to attack Israel.  To Obama, Abbas just finally sitting down to talk is the greatest thing since the invention of ice cream, the true peacemaker now.  This is while there has been attacks continuing on Israel as I write.  Is it a downplay  I note that Obama then mentioned Netanyahu releasing murderers from prison as requested by this peacemaker, Abbas?  Already Israelis are being murdered again by Palestinians.  They get the green light from efforts like this.

Enough said from this armchair Yiddishe bubbe.  We'll soon see how Netanyahu and Livni assess all this.

To Talk or Not to Talk, That is the Question John Kerry is Asking

Evidently neither Israel nor the Palestine Authority were aware of Secretary of State John Kerry's decision to publicize a story announcing on Friday evening that both of them had agreed to resume talks in Washington, possibly as early as this week.  It was news to both of them!

Some people think this has been done as a pressure tactic and is trying to dare both of them not to show up.  The truth is that neither party has publicly endorsed Kerry's framework for restarting talks.  Gosh, and Arabs like to think that Israel is so untrustworthy. Israel has Gaza to remember which turned into a shooting platform to hit southern Israel.  Israel gave that back for an exchange of peace.  How honest were the Arabs with Israel?  How can Israel trust them?

 Look at Kerry go.  He's such a newbee at the shuk!  One of the spokesmen is Yasser Abed-Rabbo, secretary-general of the PLO.  He talked on Palestine radio and said that "direct talks would be "conditioned on many clarifications about core issues," and that several "sticking points" remain unresolved.  But his side has not yet confirmed it will resume direct talks.

Yes, Yasser.  That's what a meeting is for:  to talk about the core issues and to clarify them as well as these unresolved sticking points.  I guess he wants it all settled before they all sit down for tea and crumpets to sign papers.  The Palestinians don't want to do the palavering.

Pressure on Israel is coming from the EU who on Friday decided to not award any funding, grants, scholarships or prizes to Jews living in Judea and Samaria or in the Golan Heights or East Jerusalem.  They are pushing harder to make Israel accept a peace deal with Palestine, which would look something like handing over all of Israel to them, no doubt and kicking everyone out except a few 90 year old sabras. Pressure is coming from Kerry as well as the media who keep rubbing in the fact that this is his 6th trip to the region to try to restart talks between the Israelis and Palestinians.  Of course Kerry doesn't talk about the Palestinian leadership which is divided between Hamas and Fatah with Hamas having taken over Gaza years ago and just happen to be out and out terrorists.  What kind of a deal can be made with a minor representative such as Abbas of Fatah?

Kerry has set his working sites on this situation in his new position.  Is he starting with the easiest or hardest or most important goal on his list?  He's ignoring the 2 year old civil war "raging" in Syria that has taken over 100,000 lives so far (100,191+) that has affected the lives of the 22,505,000 Syrians.  Is he ignoring the threat of Iran against Israel with nuclear weaponry?  Believe me, that will affect all the countries surrounding Israel as well.   Netanyahu feels that Iran has about 2 more weeks to reach the red line, he said last week. He spoke on July 14th about their nearness and the world's distraction to this problem by Syria and Egypt.     Aren't the EU people worried about these other problems?  Why are they trying to interfere with  the  borders of Israel?  That's not in their realm of decisions.
                                                                       

About 320,000 Jews live in 250 towns and cities in Judea and Samaria and East Jerusalem.  1.6 million Arabs are living in Israel and are citizens, just like the Jewish ones.  Is the EU made up of only Catholics?

Oh yes, the Palestinians keep on saying that they WANT all of Judea and Samaria as a state and will call it Palestine.  Actually, they lost that chance, didn't they, in 1967 when they declared war on Israel and lost?  They have been asked since then, for 46 years, to make peace with Israel and haven't.  Was there really any reason why Israel should stay out of land they won fairly and squarely that was theirs anyway according to the League of Nations in about 1922?  For people to wait for 46 years to establish a state of their own, I wonder as to the necessity of such a move or if they are prepared to be state builders?

Now we know that the EU is backing down from Muslim pressure.  They are backing the Palestinians who are demanding to take land illegally.  Why?  All the Arab states stand with the Palestinians and they have oil.  It's a matter of the righteous losing over the mighty.  They seem to forget that back in 1967 Israel stood up to them all and overcame all the odds.  Israel won.  Just who was on Israel's side then?  Perhaps the EU is backing the wrong horse in this race.
