Iran, Sponsor of Terrorism and an Atomic Bomb: Kerry Eased Up Sanctions

Nadene Goldfoot
Mohammad Javid Zarif in Geneva, Switzerland

So far, the Obama Administration has "promised us a Cadillac but delivers us a 3 speed bicycle with 2 flat tires".  It's hard to tell where we have arrived with Iran at this point in time on this bicycle pedaled by John Kerry, but you can bet your booties that Israel and Saudi Arabia are not happy with it at all.   John Kerry doesn't seem to mind that.  However, "while the U.S. has welcomed the moderate statements by Rouhani, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said in a meeting with Netanyahu last week that no deal with Iran was better than a bad deal.

The negotiators  nodded positively to Iran to lift for 6 months some financial sanctions that have crippled the Iranian economy.  "Ah, fellas, we really didn't mean to do that!   So sorry."  After all, Iran has only threatened 100 times to drive Israel into the sea,  Israelis being only apes and pigs and such like saying they had no history in Israel at all.  Whatever is bothering Israel about their rants and ravings? The negotiators think they have reached a deal to curtail Iran's nuclear program and expand inspections in exchange for  lifting sanctions, which was keeping them from getting to their goal in the first place.  Wasn't it Obama that assured Netnayahu that they were standing together in this?  Obama wasn't going to let Iran get the uranium power?

                                             Baroness Ashton

Saudi Arabia joins Israel in their worry about a Shi'ite power threatening their Sunni position in the Middle East.  For some reason, John Kerry, Secretary of State of the USA and Javed Zarif, Iranian Foreign Minister are telling us that this will keep the Middle East from exploding into military action and that now there will be no nuclear standoff.

There has been this international demand that Iran halt the expansion of its uranium enrichment program.  We have had a freeze on the installation of new centrifuges.  They are high-speed machines that produce low-enriched uranium for power plants and highly enriched uranium for nuclear warheads.  It's the evidence that Iran would dare to make an atomic bomb and drop it on Israel that goes along with their vile threats because they dared to return to their lands.

So after putting in only 5 hours, ending at the late hour of 11:30 pm, Kerry, Zarif and the Baroness Catherine Ashton, the EU's chief foreign affairs official, had had it.  Goodness knows what they were doing before to wipe them out or where they went afterwards.   The meeting took place in Geneva, Switzerland at the EU's Mission to the UN.  Their days must start at a late hour.

They thought they would end the evening with a simple signing ceremony and see now that talks must continue next week!  They have been disagreeing over Iran's building a plutonium reactor which would lead to an atomic bomb.  This interim accord they want to reach just hasn't got there yet, and they've already said they'd lift these sanctions.

There was a time when Jews loved Iranians.  It was back in the days when Babylonia had conquered Jerusalem and had taken thousands as prisoners and hauled them to Babylonia in 597 and also in 586 BCE.  Then along came our Prince Charming, Cyrus, II who died in 529 BCE, King of Persia, who conquered the Babylonians who had power over the old Israel and Judah.   He took on an enlightened policy towards his subject peoples and in 538 BCE, granted permission to the Jewish exiles of Judah living in Babylon to return to their homeland and rebuild their Temple.  The Jews thought of him as a divine person and loved him for this.  Persia was the home of Jews who lived throughout its 127 provinces and many had lived in the capital, Susa (Shushan) from the 4th century BCE onward.  The Babylonian Talmud was written here during Persian rule.  Our history of the beautiful Queen Esther being married to King Ahashueros of Persia is celebrated in Purim every Spring when it was she who saved all the Jews in the world from total extermination from the mad Haman, the king's advisor.  I've even read that Cyrus could have been the son of Queen Esther.  Maybe it was Cyrus Ist.

WWI changed much of the Middle East with the Ottoman Empire losing along with Germany.  It also affected Persia where the British, Ottomans and Russians occupied it in 1910 before the war even started.  Reza Shah became King of Iran in 1925, establishing a new name along with his new government.

Jews fared well under the Shah, but not afterwards when he was exiled by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1979 .  Life for Jews in Iran started to change with the Khomeini revolution in 1978.  Many felt very uncomfortable under the strict Islamic regime which he established  and left for Israel and the west.  Their numbers went from 80,000 in 1978 to 20,000 in 1989.  I know of some teen-aged boys who had to escape on camels during this period as they were not allowed to leave, so I doubt if you'll find any Jews speaking out against the regime today.  Living under an Ayatollah is a fact.  The president takes orders from him.  This is a religious state with a population of more than 76,923,300.  Iran is bigger than Texas.

Kerry is not a man from the shuks (outdoor markets where bartering is the rule).  He doesn't know how to bargain like a Middle Easterner.  He was putty in Zarif's hands, and probably Zarif used his charm on the Baroness as well.  I can only imagine as I wasn't there, but what a setting for a movie.  He isn't thinking about Hezbollah, who hit our Marine Barracks in Lebanon in 1983,  and that Hezbollah is funded by Iran.  For the past 30 years this has been going on and they are now strategic partners with Iran.

These 3 negotiators think that they have solved a problem of Israel bombing Iran's uranium center. By easing the sanctions that did touch the nerve centers of Iran, they have eased up to give them just what they wanted; wiggle room.  During the next 6 months, Kerry thinks he can get a requirement that Iran will disclose their full history of their nuclear program that they have managed to keep secret for 18 years.  Why should they ever do that?  Where's the carrot to offer? They've got it!   We're giving them what they want.  They'll be free to secretly build now without economic worries.  Kerry can wait for another 18 years and won't see anything but what they will allow the USA to see.  They're big shots, now.  They have stared down the big powers and got the sanctions lifted with one negotiator before midnight.

This is changing the balance of regional power and is taking away the Sunni Muslim power in the Middle East and giving it to the Shi'a. Look what they just accomplished!   This means that Hezbollah will have a freer hand with more finances coming from Iran.

Does anyone remember the war in 1980's between Iran and Iraq?  That was Sunni and Shi'a.  It was pretty gruesome.  It started in September 1980 and ended in August 1988. Iran had become a power with an Ayatollah and the balance had changed.

Wiki Leaks Tell About 1975 and How Kissinger Felt About Israel

Nadene Goldfoot

The United States has not really understood Israel's position being it is so tiny with so many neighbors who cannot bring themselves to accept her.  The situation is so different from the huge USA and its lack of worry with such nice neighbors as Canada and Mexico.  WikiLeaks tells us that Kissinger sided with the Arabs in thinking it was Israel that was holding up the peace process in 1975 from a cable .

In looking at history, one has to consider how many times Israel has had to go to war.  There was war the minute Israel was declared a state on May 14, 1948, but it had actually started on 29 November 1947 when the Arabs responded with violence to the UN resolution on Palestine, and lasted until signing of the Armistice Agreements in 1949.  That was The War of Independence.  Then on October 29th till  November 5, 1956 Israel was embroiled in The Sinai War.   The Six-Day War lasted from the 5th to 11th of June 1967.   The War of Attrition lasted from 1968 until the cease-fire  on 7th and 8th August 1970.  Even between wars were clashes along the frontier lines.  Arab terrorist organizations called fidayun and their supported Arab governments made constant forays into Israel to terrorize and sabotage.

On October 6, 1973, Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, when all Jews were in their synagogues, and out of the blue-Egypt and Syria attacked Israel.  On Israel's borders were so many enemies that they were equivalent to the total forces of NATO in Europe.  On the Golan Heights, 180 Israeli tanks faced 1,400 Syrian tanks.  Along the Suez Canal, 500 Israeli IDF were attacked by 80,000 Egyptians.  Israel was able to repulse the invaders and carry the war deep into Syria and Egypt..  The Arabs were supplied by sea and air from the Soviet Union.  At least 9 Arab states including 4 non-Middle Eastern nations actively aided the Egyptian-Syrian war effort.  Saudi Arabia and Kuwait served as the financial underwriters and also committed men to the battle.  The Saudis had 3,000 troops that went to Syria.  Libya violated Paris's ban on transferring French-made weapons and transferred Mirage fighters to Egypt.

Qaddafi gave Cairo over $1 billion in aid to rearm Egypt and pay the Soviets for weapons from 1971-1973.  Algeria sent 3 aircraft squadrons of fighters and bombers, an armored brigade and 150 tanks.  1,000-2,000 Tunisian soldiers were along the Nile Delta.  Sudan had 3,500 troops in southern Egypt.  Morocco sent 3 brigades to the front lines including 2,500 men from Syria.  Lebanese radar units were used by Syrian air defense forces. They also let Palestinian terrorists shell Israeli civilian towns from Lebanon.  Palestinians fought on the Southern Front with the Egyptians and Kuwaitis.  The Arabs lost 19,000 soldiers while Israel lost 2,688 in this battle.

Kissinger had the chutzpa to say in a cable from the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia on January 9, 1975 that they were analyzing the Israeli-Arab conflict and sympathized with the Arab position.  Israel was pictured as being panicky and suffering from a Samson complex.  I wonder if Kissinger remembers just who was helping Samson and why?  If he faced these odds, how would he have felt?  Well, with steely determination,   by themselves except for Ha Shem (G-d)  but  without any USA soldiers, Israel has managed to win all these gigantic attacks with its tiny force to the shame of the Arab armies of the Middle East.  When you know  that you are fighting for the survival of a very deserving group of people, you fight hard.  Like Golda Meier said, "We Jews have a secret weapon in our struggle with the Arabs; we have no place to go.   And I can add that even if we did have a place to go, they'd want baptism certificates like in WWII, or only allow a few in because of Jewish quotas.    Israel lost 10,068 soldiers during all the battles up to 1973.  The population of Israel started off with 650,000 in 1948.  The census of 1972 showed 3,164,000.  This little band of soldiers had to turn into the ancient Israeli warriors but fast and their leaders had to be like Joshua.

The Americans could not understand why Israel didn't consider the alternative of a peaceful accommodation with the Arabs. By this time  the USA sensed a pessimistic attitude from the Israelis towards peace.  Israel thought that they couldn't be expected to relinquish anymore land it had conquered in 1967 without Arab guarantees of security.  The USA's position immediately was that the Arabs would never give any guarantees and that war is inevitable.  The report uncovered blamed Israel for not making peace and disappointment with the Arab offer in Algiers for going too far in making concessions to Israel.

All the USA figured was that Egypt and Syria strongly were yearning for peace and wanted to work on reconstruction of their countries and that Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin wasn't helping the Arab leaders who wanted only peace.  What the USA was blind about was that yes, they wanted a piece of the pie, all right;  all of Israel, considering that Israel was only a slim slice of what the original National Jewish Homeland was promised to be.  I say promised because it was accepted and voted on in the League of Nations.  Then Britain had the brilliant idea to give away 80%  of the property to an Emir who became king of TransJordan.

The USA actually considered a demilitarized Palestinian state would be so humiliating or detracting from their sovereignty.  That said, we then look at Jimmy Carter and his completely irresponsible insufferable collection of false information,  "Palestine Peace, Not Apartheid" which has done innumerable harm to Israel's chances in the world.  That   goes along with John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt who wrote a book slamming Israel and even slamming the UN report that said Israel was in the right to keep the flotilla from bringing in arms.  They slammed the UN report as they sided with Turkey!

Here we are with John Kerry using his wiles to have Netanyahu innocently apologize to Turkey which has turned into such a ballagon of unacceptable expectations from Turkey.    The world seems to have a hard time being on Israel's side.

What I see is the continual anti-Semitic attitudes that have permeated US history since its inception.  It's just a big disappointment to see it  possibly stronger in our top government positions than in the general community.   Even more disappointing to me is that Kissinger is Jewish and lacks understanding of Israel's position.  It is inexcusable.   I expect everyone, Jewish and non-Jewish, to have a thorough background about Israel and how this came about.  Israelis must depend on their own gut feelings to preserve their lives and the life of their nation.

Insane UN Follows Syria's Lead

Nadene Goldfoot
Just when I thought there was hope for the UN, they've gone crazy again with their harping hatred against Israel.  They are demanding that Israel hand over control of the Golan to the merciless Syrian army.  We must realize now that they have flipped their lid!  This is at a time when wild rockets have landed in the Golan as a spillover from their constant barrages on their populace.  Golan  is under Israel's control and has been peaceful and a content area.  .

"At the UN Human Rights Council on Friday, March 8th, Syria accused Israel of violating human rights of children in the Golan, while diplomats met in another chamber on the same day to discuss a Syrian-drafted resolution to be adopted next week, entitled "Human Rights in the Occupied Syrian Golan." There will be five other resolutions targeting Israel, and about the same number on the rest of the world combined.  This is the most ridiculous ploy ever tried by Man.  At a time when the Syrian government has killed 70,000 of its own people who are rebellious and dissatisfied with their government, Syria has the audacity to turn around and put the floodlight on everyone's pet scapegoat, the Jews of Israel to get world attention off their own backs.  Pathetic!

The surreal UN text ignores mass atrocities of Assad's regime.  Instead of Syria doing the presentation, a "Pakistani colleague who chaired the session on behalf of the Islamic group presented the UN text.  .

Note that "not a single diplomat called out the sheer lunacy of the exercise. Rather, the EU commented that it was "committed to the protection of all, including those in the occupied Golan." It was willing to "constructively engage on the text," even as it noted that its proposals last year were not implemented.  Egypt, Israel's neighbor who was just awarded millions of dollars, pretty much as a bribe to stay peaceful with Israel, double-crossed the USA by  saying that  it aligned itself with the Islamic group. Of course they are a part of the Islamic group and were former leaders of it, so...what do people expect from them?  Whoever  is surprised is really quite naive.

And what kind of human rights does Saudi Arabia exhibit as an example for the world to follow?  "As we heard this week from Amnesty International, Saudi Arabia was preparing imminently to execute seven alleged child offenders including Sarhan Al Mashayekh—who was also sentenced to be crucified over three days. Why is the Council refusing to address this in any resolution, urgent session, or even debate?  The Saudis have executed them by firing squad.

The UN is either so afraid of Syria or so enamored with them that they "elected Syria as  Rapporteur of the decolonization committee dealing with human rights."

The Golan Heights was occupied by Israel after the 1967 War in which Israel was attacked by all Arab countries and won out.  Later in 1981 Israel annexed the Golan.  It is part of Israel.  Israel, led by Joshua, took the Golan from the Amorites.  The Israelite tribes of Dan and Manasseh had lived here.  It's back in Israel's domain again.

What is happening is that 21 UN peacekeepers that were Filipinos had been captured.  They were released after 3 days.  (Force made up of Philippines, India, Croatia, Austria.)   They were between Syria and Israel.  Then the UNDOF legal advisor was kidnapped and held for ransom.  Japan had already pulled out its men.Croatia and Canada have joined them.    "Israel warned 10 days ago that it could not be expected to stand idle as Syria's civil war, in which 70,000 people have been killed, spilled over into the Golan Heights."   "UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in a December report to the Security Council that fighting between Syrian armed forces and rebels inside the area of separation has "the potential to ignite a larger conflict between Israel and the Syrian Arab Republic, with grave consequences."  Now the UN have pulled out their peacekeeping patrols.  1,000 Syrian rebels are fighting only 25 km or about 15 miles  from the Golan.  Then again, Syria is still ticked off because in January Israel bombed a fleet carrying chemical weapons bound to be used on Israel, and also hit the center they were being manufactured in.  Now they're getting even with this preposterous claim.  Of course Russia and Iran stood with Syria.

Netanyahu plans to build a border fence between Syria and Israel in the Golan.

John Brennan and Al Qaeda Regarding Israel

Nadene Goldfoot
Osama Bin Laden-former leader of Al-Qaeda

What's happening to fight terrorism is causing questions about our government and how they believe in protecting our country.  My eyebrows are arching when I read that "it isn't unusual for our military and intelligence officials to visit Saudi Arabia and then leave it repeating the classic Saudi talking points about Islam." Our important officials and other American citizens are also spending more time in Qatar.  The same thing can be happening there as well.  Both places are small but wealthy Sunni countries with more than average influence on our government.  For instance, Qaradawi, a most important  religious Sunni leader,  lives in Qatar and has a death wish for all Jews and Israel.

1. Islam is a stable influence on the region.
2. Israel is a destabilizing influence.

Muslims of Israel have rights
My thought on this is that Israel is showing the other Muslims a democratic society and that the 1.4 million Arabs living in Israel are most likely better off than the ones in their country being it's the only democratic country in the region.  They even serve in the Knesset and have their own political parties.   But are our USA  government workers becoming brainwashed?  Are they swallowing this tripe of negativism towards Israel?

Take John Brennan, for instance.  He has developed links with the Muslim Brotherhood who I think is the cause of Egypt's downfall in the Arab Spring.  They had been outlawed by Sadat,  and now look at the trouble they've caused the whole neighborhood. They also have the charter with the top goals of destroying Israel.  I don't take this lightly.  Brennan has brought known leaders of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood into the government in advisory positions.  Hamas's charter is the same as the Brotherhood in that they also have as goal #1 to destroy Israel. Hamas and Fatah are at each other's throats constantly in fighting over power and leadership.  Hamas has been a terrible influence over Fatah in causing them to be terrorists.   These Muslims are advising our government on counter-terrorism strategy  in the War on Terror program.  Is that all?  To John, this War on Terror means only Al Qaeda.

There is even reliable evidence that Brennan has converted to Islam. Snopes says NO.    Would a man do that just to have an in with Muslims to gain information?  Is this expected in the CIA?  Or, if true, is it from the heart?  Does he now believe the hard line of wanting to get rid of Israel?  It used to be that Islam thought of Judaism in better terms than Christianity did but the tables have turned.  Muslim Reactionaries  are only concerned with fighting Israel.  They don't need a pat on the back for doing so which their religious leaders dole out. .  They need to see condemnation for doing so in order to become civil-minded. I  don't care what religion Brennan is, except I want to know where he stands concerning Israel, as what he would be in charge of concerns Israel's very life.  If he's been leading such a double life it's going to be hard to trust what he says, anyway.

Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda started up from reacting to the Soviet War in Afghanistan in August of 1988.  The group is Sunni Muslim and believe in global jihad and the strict Sharia Law.  They deal in suicide attacks and bombings.  This is the group responsible for our 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers, killing 3,000.  They also had done the 1998 US Embassy bombings and the 2002 Bali bombings.  They are listed as terrorists by everybody.   There have been allegations that the CIA had helped al Qaeda in their fight against the Russians.  Now these terrorists are  fighting us.

"Also, al-Qaeda is possibly using aircraft to transport drugs and weapons from South America to various unstable countries in West Africa. A Boeing 727 can carry up to 10 tons of cargo. The drugs eventually are smuggled to Europe for distribution and sale, and the weapons are used in conflicts in Africa and possibly elsewhere. Gunmen with links to al-Qaeda have been increasingly kidnapping some Europeans for ransom. The profits from the drug and weapon sales, and kidnappings can, in turn, fund more militant activities."

American F-16 Jet Fighters for Egypt

Nadene Goldfoot
The United States is giving Egypt $1.3 billion dollars this year in military aid.  Has Egypt not changed it's government from a secular Presidential one to a Muslim Brotherhood presidential government?  How is it that the USA cannot back out of  giving F-16 jet fighters to Cairo in the next few weeks being this Muslim Brotherhood Egypt is not friendly towards Israel?  My opinion is that so far Morsi is being nice to Obama just to get what he wants.  It gives me the shivers to think that this hostile country who had been at peace for 30 some years is now on the verge of relapsing.  Morsi had been the head of the Muslim Brotherhood and now is the head of Egypt.  There's a lot of changes anticipated for the population that not all are happy about.  Just ask the Christians who are leaving.

There is a big agreement with the management of Egyptian-US relations on military aid to Egypt, which takes priority over economic assistance.  The F-16s they want are the block 50/52 versions, an upgrade of their blocks 30/32 and 40/42's that they have been using since the 1980's.

Cairo already has some 200 F-16's but is getting 20 of these new upgrades ones.  Israel may have only 102 F-16's but will get the best edge when it receives the F-35's.  They are designed to work in ground attacks, reconnaissance and air defense missions with stealth capability.  The hitch is they won't get them for 2 more years, but Israel will get first dibs when they go on the international market.  If they work out well for Israel,  then the USA Air force will get them.

This is the plan of our nation; give Israel's neighbors weapons that can be used against them but keep the abilities down just a little while collecting a lot of money for them.  Who says Democrats don't know anything about business?  Qatar's Brigadier General Safwat Al-Zayat feels that the Zionist lobby (AIPAC)  might try to stop the deal.  He said the deal was made on December 11 which sent a message to Egypt saying, "We support you, Morsi!"  Ambassador Haridi feels now that the Muslim Brotherhood reached power with the USA approval.

What does Hagel, the next possible Secretary of Defense say? He has apologized for saying "Jewish Lobby" instead of AIPAC or Israel Lobby.  He says he supports a strong US-Israel relationship and for Israel's right to defend itself against attack.  Our nations have shared values, interests and democratic ideals.  He realizes that the Middle East is undergoing changes and surround Israel with tremendous uncertainty.  He intends to expand the depth and breadth of US-Israel cooperation.

""The Obama administration wants to simply throw money at an Egyptian government that the president cannot even clearly state is an ally of the United States,” Republican chair of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs Rep., Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, said last month."

Saudi Arabia boasts the most expensive arms deals in the history of US weapons sales which are about $60 billion dollars over the next ten years.  Riyadh and Washington are planning more deals on a similar scale.

Obama Vague on Iran's Limits

Nadene Goldfoot
There are two problems in dealing with Iran.  Israel would like to bring a halt to Iran's development of nuclear items such as bombs and such that would be destined to be dropped on Israel.  The United States just wants to slow down Iran's nuclear development.  Their aim is just to buy time.

The Oregonian's article this morning from New York Times  tells of Netanyahu feeling that Obama is too vague about Iran's limits in how far they can go.  He doesn't see a clear red line and Iran doesn't see a strong determination to stop its nuclear project.  This is because they haven't stopped their production activities at all.

Israel has been talking about attacking Iran's nuclear production on their own but doesn't want to.  They would like the USA to join them.  The USA is trying to forestall an Israeli attack while making the Iranians take the situation more seriously.

One thing the USA is doing  is installing a new radar system in Qatar.  Israel and Turkey already have this.  They want to "form a broad arc of anti-missile coverage." Qatar is not necessarily a friend of Israel, but may suffer the consequences of Iran's mission as well along with Saudi Arabia.  They are of a slightly different Muslim theology than Iran.  Iranians are Shi'a following the Jafari code (fiqh)  and Saudi Arabia and Qatar are Sunni who follow the Hanbali code.    The religious leader of Qatar is Qaradawi, who is very anti-Jewish. They have this one hatred in common with Iran.  Qaradawi is also the religious influence in Egypt, which doesn't help matters.

Back in 2007 Israel hit Syria's nuclear reactor and it took weeks to become clear that it was Israeli jets that did the job, or at least most think it was Israel.  There was no retaliation and was a success.  Whoever hit it did it early enough to cause complete damage.  Now Iran's facility has gone underground and is so secret that it would be impossible for Israel to strike and destroy it.  It's gone on too long.  There may be one window of opportunity coming up, but would take more than just Israel to stop it.

We know that Iran at this point is not taking the USA and 25 other nations seriously in their sanctions against Iran.  Yet the USA thinks of a military strike that could trigger an Iranian reaction and unleash a new conflict in the Middle East.  So we get back to Israel's idea of a stern red line set by the international community letting Iran know just how far they can go.  Israel will not be the only ones hurt in Iran's unleashing nuclear powers but the whole world will also suffer from it.  Iran is not a sane dependable nation at this point in time. Their leaders are meshugenas.  That's why they must not get nuclear capabilities.a

Update: 9:27am General Martin Dempsey, US Chairman of Joint chief of Staff, told the British last week that the the USA doesn't want to be "complicit" in an Israeli attack on Iran.  He also warned against a go-it-alone military action.  This announcement changed this position of the USA in that the situation had to be reassessed now.

Will Iran take any sanctions seriously now that they know that an attack  is not a possibility?

How Dhimmis Developed in Middle East (3rd Class Jews)

Nadene Goldfoot
The Abbasid Empire of the 10th to 12th centuries and their relationship to Muhammad and the Quraysh Tribe * brought unwelcome changes for Jews living in some Middle Eastern countries. They existed from the 8th century to the 12th and ruled from Baghdad. Their empire went from Central Asia to North Africa.  They claimed descent from Mohammed's Uncle Abbas.   Though Mohammed died in 632,  many people living in rural areas and in the lower classes had not yet accepted Islam.  The majority were practicing Zoroastrians.  Others were Nestorians, Orthodox and Coptic Christians.  Jews were the smallest group.

The Abbasids wanted to impress the Muslim theologians, so they persecuted the non- Muslims. Harun al-Rashid, and Mutawakkil were Caliphs and were very tough.  The dhimmi (non-Muslims) lived under harsh rules.
1.They could not build places of worship.  Any built after the Arab conquest had to be demolished.
2. They had to wear special clothes.
    a. In 800's Baghdad's Caliph al-Mutawakkil had Jews wear a yellow badge (Nazis used this idea)
3. Some were even branded on their foreheads.
4. Their homes could not be taller than Muslims' homes.
    a. Jews of North Africa (Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Morocco) lived in ghettos ( 9th to 19th centuries)
    b. Morocco Jews had to walk barefoot or wear shoes of straw outside ghetto (largest Jewish community in Islamic countries)
5. Testimony against Muslims was not admitted in court
6.  Even children learned to practice degradation of Jews by throwing stones at them, harassing them.  I saw this done in the movie Mohammad, Messenger of God  with Anthony Quinn and Irene Papas.  The children threw stones at Mohammad in Mecca when he first started preaching.  It leads me to think that children have been doing this for a long time to anyone that is scorned and they got away with it.

Outside the capital everyone was at the mercy of the local governor.
7. Dhimmi were required to pay the head tax in a prostrate position, given a seal instead of a receipt, which they hung around their necks.

This brought about the desired effect.  Conversions were then common.

Even with all this, there seemed to be some semblance of tolerance in Islam.  Christians and Jews held positions of honor as businessmen, court physicians, philosophers and even as  vazirs at times.  The exception to this were the Zoroastrians.  Most of the persecutions happened to them and the lower-class Christians and Jews.

Islam supremacy was preached by the Umayyads.  They were the people that had lost their empire to the Abbasids.  This caused resentment with the aristocrats and intelligentsia of Iran and Syria.  This religious zeal of the Abbasids persecuted the majority of the rural population.  Perhaps it was they who the author of "Aghani" wrote:  "Oh, that the tyranny of the Umayyads would return.  Oh, that the justice of the Abbasids would go to hell."

There were many periods that  Jews in Muslim lands in and around the fallen Judea lived in peace and thrived culturally and economically.  Their position was not a secure one, however, anymore than it was in Eastern Europe.  It only took changes in the political or social climate and then they would suffer from persecution, violence and often, death.  Oftentimes it was when Jews  were seen as being too comfortable in this Islamic society that anti-Semitism would be apparent.

On December 30, 1066, Joseph HaNagid, Jewish vizier of Granada, Spain (then a Muslim land) , was crucified by an Arab mob that then razed the Jewish quarter of the city and killed 5,000 Jews living there.  It was incited by their preachers who imagined the Jews had political power.

In 1466, Arab mobs in Fez killed thousands of Jews, leaving only 11 alive after the Jewish deputy vizier was said to be offensive to a Muslim woman.  This started a wave of killings throughout Morocco.

This sounds very familiar to events happening in Eastern Europe.  Jews were even worse off there, living with  unexpected pogroms happening, touched on in the movie "Fiddler on the Roof." which was based on historic facts.  My own grandmother, immigrating to the states at about age 17, came from Poland with legs that had been broken in a pogrom, as she told her young grandson, my cousin.  We witnessed the results from the condition of her legs.

Jewish history even records times when the Ottoman Empire invited Jews back to work on economic facets of their empire.  Some did in fact return, probably finding life in Eastern Europe far worse.  They were pretty much dependent on the good graces of the existing ruler of the day in either land.

Now, for the Arabs of the fallen Ottoman Empire to have to accept Jews in their midst seems to be too much for them.  This means accepting people who were of  a dhimmini level to be treated as equals.  Unlike the Muslims of India, Afghanistan and Pakistan, where dhimminitude did not seem to occur,  they  had developed a completely different  attitude towards Jews.  In fact,  some religious leaders had interpreted the Koran a little differently in areas towards Jews.  I'm finding that interpretations are as varied as they are in Judaism and especially in Christianity.   For instance, the main fiqh in Afghanistan and Pakistan is "Hanafi".  Morocco follows the fiqh "Maliki".  Saudi Arabia follows "Hanbali", as does Qatar, though with Qaradawi now as a head religious leader in Qatar, they may have recently changed their fiqh.   Jordan follows "Shafi'i".

* Quraysh Tribe:  At the time of Muhammad, the Quraysh tribe had passed the height of their power and were losing their prestige and control.  There was disunity among the clans.  This invited rival tribes from the neighboring areas to challenge their prestige.  The pilgrimage season was over and the tribes scattered over the peninsula and raided for water, wealth and women.  The leaders of the Quraysh tribe sent well-protected caravans north to Syria, Egypt and Iran to sell goods and replenish stock for the next year.  So the Quraysh knew more about the outside world.  They were affected by the wars between Byzantium and Iran.  Jewish and Christian tribes lived in Arabia.  I believe the movie I cited above was showing all this history of the Quraysh tribe.

Revealing Facts About Sherif Hussein's Sons' Involvement Against Establishing Israel

Nadene Goldfoot
Sherif Hussein was the father of Abdullah, and Sherif had supported Zionism.  He must not have figured that this would lead to a completely independent Jewish state, though.  However, Abdullah's elder brother Emir Faisal had promised Chaim Weizmann his support in 1918 at the end of World War I. when Weizmann had visited him in his desert camp.  He had told him he would support the Balfour Declaration but did not mention conditions.  He thought Jews were very influential in the world and would help him achieve his coveted goal:  World sanction for an independent Greater Syria which he would head.

Faisal didn't consider the Balfour Declaration to be the British rejection of earlier promises to the Arabs to support the establishment of an independent Arab world in the Middle East when the Ottoman Empire was gone.  After all, they had supported the British with an Arab military uprising against the Turks.  The promises to the Arabs were in vague terms by the British High Commissioner in Egypt, Sir Henry MacMahon, in correspondence with Hussein.

Sherif Hussein was the ruler of the Hedjaz area that later became known as Saudi Arabia.  He had assured D.G. Hogarth, a British representative in 1918 that he would support the Balfour Declaration---if it did not mean the establishment of an independent Jewish state. He lost the chance to be king of Arabia to Ibn Saud.

Saudi Arabia had never been as opposed to Zionism as most other Arab states.  Harry St. John Philby, a British adviser to the first king of Saudi Arabia, a Bedouin,  King  Abdulaziz b: 1876-d: 9 November 1953, otherwise known as Ibn Saud, wrote that he suggested to Weizmann a plan where all Palestine would go to the Jews, who would give Saud 20 million pounds to resettle the Palestine Arabs.

Weizmann, in referring to this plan, said that Winston Churchill favored such a solution, under which Saud would become "Lord of the Middle East.'  According to Philby, Saud waited for Churchill and Roosevelt to make the first move, but they didn't.  Then, Saud showed an uncompromising attitude towards the Jews in conversations with Roosevelt following the Yalta conference while on a cruiser on February 4-11, 1945. He had grown afraid of the other Arabs' reactions.    Roosevelt decided then to take no action which might prove hostile to the Arab people.  When  Truman came into office, this was thrown up to him as a reminder.  He rejected it, and did vote for Israel's statehood.

Abdullah was in his Amman Shuneh Palace on December 17, 1947 reading a report about the partition plan to divide the 20% that was left of the Jewish Homeland between the Arabs and the Jews.  The Mufti of Jerusalem's plans were to arm his supporters to be ready when the British troops left on May 14, 1948.  They had collected 10,000 rifles and other light arms to give to the Palestine Arabs and were recruiting about 3,000 volunteers ready to be trained and organized.  Abdullah  was against this and wanted the intervention of the regular Arab armies to enter as the Arab Legions was the only modern well-trained regular Arab force.  With them, he could occupy the area allocated by the UN to the Arabs in accordance with his secret proposal to the Jews.

The Muft of Jerusalem, Syrians and Egyptians feared the Arab Legion would then occupy Arab Palestine.  Saudi Arabia was against arming the Palestinians and also bringing in the regular armies.  Iraq's rulers, Hashemites like Abdullah, would not cooperate with Transjordan.  They were trying to get a defense agreement with Britain and wanted to counter protests at home that the government was soft on imperialism and Zionism.  The premiers decided to implement the secret decisions of the Bludan Conference.

June 1946 in Bludan, Syria, the Arab States had up to now paid only lip service to anti-Zionism.  They were too busy in their own problems to move against the Jews of Palestine.  The Anglo-American Commission recommended that 100,000 Jewish refugees be allowed to enter Palestine immediately.  This need was that the Holocaust was over and survivors had no place to go.  They were being placed in detention camps in Cyprus, for one.

These leaders  were eager to see a conflict between Truman of the USA and and the British who were against it.  The British needed "evidence" to show that immigration would lead to bloodshed, so the Arabs called a conference of the Arab League Political Committee in Bludan.  They rejected the American idea of allowing immigration and secretly decided that if the Palestine Arabs went to war, the Arab States would not be able to stop their people from coming to their aid with money, arms and volunteers.

The British were busy instigating Arab rebellion and the British Representatives in Amman asked Abdulla if he would permit volunteers to cross into Palestine from Transjordan.  He was against the crossing himself but agreed.  He could be accused of selling out to the British and Jews.  Bevin himself approved of this idea.  They agreed to have the volunteers pass secretly after midnight so others would think they had infiltrated into Palestine without official Transjordan or British knowledge.  They would move in a group with Arab Legion guards marching to the front and rear until they crossed into Palestine.  They wouldn't stay in Jerusalem, but march to the Nablus area in central Palestine.  It all ended up that Britain would continue to supply arms to Egypt, Iraq and Transjordan.  On January 21, 20 trucks with Syrian license plates carrying over 700 Arab Liberation Army men under Safr Bek, a Syrian officer, raced across the border into Palestine to fight.  However, the British-Iraqi arms agreement was cancelled shortly after it had been drawn up when mobs rioted in Baghdad in protest against British "imperialism."

What Happens If Iran Does Get Nuclear Weapons?

Nadene Goldfoot
King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has said that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, they will do the same thing.  He told Dennis Ross this back in 2009.  Though Abdullah has heard the argument against such things, he would most likely have to out of fear of a take-over himself.  Riyadh would start a twin-track  nuclear weapons program if Tehran showed they had ambition in getting this for their country.  This is the main reason that our Washington DC government is quite interested in halting Tehran's nuclear program.  Everybody will get into the act.

The USA has talked with Iran for only two rounds, but Dennis Ross, former senior US diplomat,  said they should set a deadline for the conclusion of diplomatic contacts and let Iran know of it.  First off, most people see Tehran leading the talks.  They seem to have dreams of reviving the Persian Empire and controlling the region once more.  This is based on Shiite expansionism and using past history as a reason for their expansionist policy.  They are backing their neighbor's resistance against Israel which gives them the insurance of control over the so-called "Shiite Crescent."  This is only a prelude to what will eventually evolve.

Netanyahu of Israel said on Tuesday that Iran needs to stop uranium enrichment.  They need to then get rid of what they have produced and dismantle the means to make more to assure the world that they had no nuclear weapons project going on.  The people meeting with Iran need to strengthen their demands from Iran .  That's why they have imposed sanctions on them.  Instead, what the talks are producing are more time for Iran in which to work.  They've already received another 3 weeks or so until the next meeting in Moscow.

Edhud Barak, Israel's Defense Minister, said that the Iranian nuclear threat is "a sword on the neck" of the Jewish state..  After they do build it and deploy it, then it's entirely too late.  Israel doesn't have another option to ignore this challenge.

Iranian scientists and technicians are not the only busy people in Iran.   In the meantime, their Shabiha militia group  have been aiding and abetting the massacre of women and children in Syria by supporting the Syrian militia who are doing the slaughtering in Houla.  They have clearly supplied support and training and advice to the Syrian army, who in retrospect is also backed by Russia.  This Shabiha thug force reflects the same force that the Iranians use and have used on their own civil rights protesters. One can remember the march of protest in Iran where a beautiful woman, Nadia, was killed before our eyes.   The White House appears to be most reluctant to repeat their move that they made on Libya.

We need an educated guess as to just how long the window of opportunity will be open.  Some Americans are guessing that Israel will make their move in an air strike before it slams shut. In the meantime, we're at an impasse.  Ahmadinejad won't stop his 20% enrichment program and says he isn't dangerous.  He doesn't believe the West will do a thing about him.

Continued Facts on How USA Sold Arms to Saudi Arabia

Nadene Goldfoot

Oliver North was known to be favorable towards Israel and an Iraq-hater. From 1981-82 Caspar Weinberger was in Defense and Bill Casey at the CIA wanted our policy to favor Iraq but was being blocked.

Reagan's first two years saw Secretary of State Alexander Haig as having an anti-Iraq pro-Israel line, including sending weapons to Iran to fight against Iraq. North was being snubbed and was thrown out of the inner circle that wanted to save Iraq from military loss.

So in February 1982, CIA director Casey met with the head of the Iraqi secret service and was sending Saddam Hussein AWACS intelligence which he got from planes recently sold to the Saudis over Israel's strenuous objections.

By 1983 Casey had a secret CIA group in Baghdad, giving Saddam Hussein everything from satellite photos to Iranian plans of battle.

Here we are aiding and abetting Iraq who was also against Israel one minute and then killing off Saddam later. Now the USA is also in peril from Iran's ire from supposedly being such friends with Israel.

Whatever goes on with high level friendships always leads to one thing; Israel's danger. This is only one of many events.

Why USA Sold Arms to Saudi Arabia Against Israel's Security

Nadene Goldfoot
In 1980 my husband and I had made aliyah and had moved to Israel. We were teachers from the states and after retraining in Israel, were teaching English after our first year. By March of 1982 I had become quite concerned with the possibility of the USA selling arms to Jordan. Even though we were able to watch Jordan’s TV programs from Israel, they were still not friendly as yet. It was really more like watching a program in Portland, Oregon coming from Gresham; the states were so close.

My husband, teaching in the high school and me in the junion high in Safed, had students write letters to President Reagan in their own words telling them of their concerns. I didn’t understand how the USA could consider doing such a thing. Selling arms to the the other Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia was so scary to us. I told my mother in a letter to write to the president as well. Like I told my students, it couldn’t hurt. I saw that Jewish communities did write a lot about this to the president in the end of February.

Little did I know what our USA government had been up to. By 1980 I hadn’t realized how much anti-semitism still existed in our country and in our government as well, passed on from generation to generation of government officials. Worst of all, strong anti-semitism existed in a self-hating Jew whose only interest in life was in climbing the ladder of importance; our own Secretary of Defense, Caspar Weinberger.

There is a company named Bechtel. It is the largest construction and engineering company in the USA. It also is family owned, ranking 5th largest in the USA since 1945. They had $30.8 billion in revenue and employed 49,000 workers on projects in 50 countries as of 2010. Weinberger had been working for them as a general counsel. It was one of the most notorious anti-Semite companies in the USA. They also had their executives in the White House friend’s circle during the 1980's. In fact, they were the most popular company there. Bechtel’s former president was George Shultz.

Weinberger’s anti-Israel attitude was showing up in almost every Middle-East issue. He feared that if the USA went after Palestinian terrorists, it would be offensive to them and alienate Arab governments–particulary if the government acted in cooperation with the Israelis. By mid 1982 Weinberger was in the Reagan administration and joined by George Shultz who then replaced Alexander Haig as Secretary of State who had been pro-Israel!

The 1980's were a hard time for Bechtel. First, they built a mine in New Guinea. The major shareholder of a mining company allowed mine waste to be dumped into a river after a dam built by Bechtel was destroyed in a landslide. They were involved with major pollution. In 1981 Bechtel bought into Wall Street investment bank Dillon, Read & Co and George Schultz joined their board as their representative. In 1982 they had 44,000 employees but later had to lay off so many that their count went to 16,000 in 1995.

When Weinberger joined Bechtel, the company’s profits were threatened by an attack on their stand of sticking with the Arabs in boycotting Israel. This had come about by the Arabs after the Jews won the 1948 war. Arabs had banned all trade between Arabs and Israel, or any company that did business with Israel. Bechtel carried out the boycott completely, even when offered wonderful contracts to do business in Israel. The company refused to deal with Jews. Even in the middle 1970's, a Justice Department investigation found that their contracts with Arab countries were still showing they boycotted Israel. Sadly, the USA just turned a blind eye to this fact the previous quarter of a century and had even participated in it once in a while. Attorney General Edward Levi brought suit against Bechtel but was strongly opposed by Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, another Jew, who happened to be a big admirer of Bechtel’s president, George Shultz

It seems that our own people can hurt us more than plain old anti-semites! What chance does Israel have when business and old anti-semitic attitudes still exist? This is really how Israel’s hateful neighbors get their arms; through subversion of our “friends.”

Saudi Arabia Taking Advantage of Gilad Schalit's Release

Nadene Goldfoot
Sheik Awadh al-Qarani, a prominent  Saudi Arabian cleric,  has offered $100,000 to anyone who captures an Israeli soldier again so that the Palestinians can repeat a swap for Palestinian prisoners that Israel holds.

Now Prince Khaled bin Talal, a brother of billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who holds no official government position but one of Saudi Arabia's royal family, has increased the reward to $1 million dollars.

This puts every IDF soldier's life in peril even more.  When Sgt. Gilad Schalit was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists, the thought may have been to hold him for ransom which he was.   Hopefully, the thought only arose as the condition appeared. He was held for more than 5 years, and when freed was gaunt and pale, looking like he had been through a horrible ordeal.  None of the prisoners Israel holds have been held under such horrible conditions.  While Gilad was simply kidnapped while doing guard duty, the prisoners Israel holds are there for murderous attacks.  Israel got Gilad back by deciding to free 1,000 prisoners.  It was a hard decision as it has led to this.

Israel has argued the merits and dangers of such a decision.  Everyone wanted Gilad freed but feared the cost.  So they now also have two rewards of $100,000 to anyone who kills a Palestinian released in the Schalit deal if the Palestinian killed Israelis.  Since almost every citizen serves in the army,  everyone will be aware of lurking terrorists anyway, knowing that 1,000 of them have been freed.

My thought would be to insert some sort of chip such as used for American pets in case they are lost into these freed killer-prisoners as they were not freed over due course of time as decided by a court system, but to save the life of Gilad.  This chip could alert people that they were lurking in the vicinity and warn Israelis.

The Oregonian  newspaper got it wrong this morning when they assumed that "the prisoner swap might improve relations between the bitter foes".  It was done for one reason only; to save Gilad.  The government knew that freeing 1,000 prisoners was dangerous.  But to Israelis a life is precious, and they knew he could not last much longer.  That was the only deal the terrorists would go for.  It was, after 5 years of trying, the only way Gilad could be saved.

That lives are precious means that Israelis will do all they can to stop terrorists from trying to take more of theirs.  When terrorists attack, Israel will retaliate, not in kind but stronger.  There seems to be no other way to deter such attacks.  Talking doesn't help.  Reasoning doesn't help.

Personally, I think that was a once in a lifetime proposition.  Israel isn't about to fall for that again, now knowing what it can lead to.  The attacks of Hamas over the weekend on Israel with a volley of 39 or more rockets and missiles demonstrates that the terrorists who rule Gaza are out for blood.  Don't forget that this followed a recent attack the preceding week.  They even had a newer type of missile launcher this time.  Well, why not, with Saudi Arabia footing the bills.  This is and has always been an attack of war on Israel.

Bombs Destined for Chicago Synagogue

The last few days have seen numerous newspaper and TV accounts of bombs placed in computer cartridge printers in cargo planes that were destined for a synagogue in Chicago. The planes happened to have to go through Britain and Dubai before getting to Chicago.

This caused a cargo plane to be searched and interrupted the schedule. Cell phones could have caused the bombs to go off, so the thought is that they may have wanted to blow up the planes in the air. The bombs were loaded in Yemen. Most likely, an al Qaida man, Ibrahim Hassan al Asiri was the creator of these bombs.

Our government found out about the bombs through a tip from Saudi Arabia, who has been infiltrating spies in Yemen.

"Hanan al-Samawi, 22, a student at the University of Sana'a, was arrested after police surrounded a house in the Yemeni capital. Her 45-year-old mother was arrested with her, according to Yemeni human rights activist Abdel-Rahman Barman." Hanan was thought to the the person who mailed the bombs.

Coming at a time just before the mid term elections caused many to wonder just what the bomber had in mind. Was this timing just a coincidence? If on purpose, for what ends?

Questioning Obama's Real Interests

Nadene Goldfoot
The question has been, "Where was Obama born?" The answer has been Hawaii, of course.

A lawyer in California has filed in the courts with new information of his birth . Obama's birth certificate, which hasn't ever been made public, is said to have been found in Kenya. It is a certified copy of the original made in February 1964. It says Barack Hussein Obama age 26 and a resident of Honolulu, Hawaii and Stanley Ann Dunham age 18 of Wichita, Kansas as parents on August 4, 1961 of son Mubarack (Barack is the shortened form) in the Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya. His father was a Sunni Kenyan Muslim. His home was the village of Eanyadhinng in Nyahea Province in Kenya, Africa. Kenya was independent in 1963. My question is, if the father was simply a resident of Hawaii and the mother was a citizen of the USA, does that make Obama eligible as a citizen of the USA even though he was born in Africa? To be the president of the USA, would you have to be born in the states or would this be considered legal?

In Islam, if the father is a Muslim, so is the son.
Of course this birth information hasn't come out in the main media as yet. If it did, Obama may not be eligible to be president. What would this country do? That's what Orly Tarty, attorney, wants to find out.

This is unlike Judaism where it is that if the mother is Jewish, the children are Jewish. The mother is usually the one overseeing the children's learning.

His mother, born a Christian, remarried another Sunni Muslim. He was from Indonesia. This information says that Obama attended a Madrassa, which is an Islamic school until age 11. That's far longer than I had supposed. I had thought it was until age 6. At age 11 a child might be in the 6th grade already. Here I see the male influence in instuction of the religion.

This all came up because Rachel has come up with some interesting information. Rachel Lipkin is an Israeli born in Egypt who immigrated to Israel in 1969. She has worked in Israel's radio service in Arabic for the last 25 years monitoring Arabic language broadcasts on TV and radio and newspapers.

During a TV interview with Gary Stearman, scholar, Rachel told of picking up broadcasts from 2004-2008 and hearing the Saudis saying, "We will have a Muslim in the White House in 2008". I know that President Bush was great friends with the Saudis, supposedly because they were both owners of oil wells. I always wondered about that relationship and its effect on Israel. Now I read that the Saudis were predicting this next president's religious affiliation. Obama bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia in 2009, shocking many. Since then he has continued the practice of bowing to other foreigners.

What is interesting is that Obama was almost an unknown politically until 2008 when he spoke in the Democratic convention, wowing everybody with his agility of speaking. He was mesmerizing. He was a senator for such a short time, then had to spend most of this time campaigning for President. He did not show his birth certificate and has been quite mum about his past. Because his mother had married two Sunni Muslims, I don't think she was really into her own religion, so Obama was not raised to be Christian. He remarked that he became Christian when he married Michelle. What religion he had had been with the Sunni Muslims, then.

Rachel picked up a broadcast on Nile TV from Egypt which was a discussion. The Foreign Minister of Egypt said he had had a meeting with Obama who swore to him that he is a Muslim. Obama continued, "As soon as I finish with the health care question, you Muslims will see what I will do for Islam regarding Israel." Obama had promised support when he spoke to Jews at an AIPAC meeting, but his policies since then have not followed suit.

Rachel's husband, Avi, added that in studying the Muslim religion, he found that it is a commandment in Islam to deceive the infidel, a commandment to lie-to say that he is a Christian when he is not a Christian. So the question is, whose interests will he look out for? Israel or Saudia Arabia's?

Saudi media in Arabic has said over and over that if America is their ally they must deal with Iran and the Shiites and then afterwards with Israel and the Jews. If America is not their ally they plan to withdraw their support from the US economy and deny their money and oil from them. (This is doubtful to me. They need our business.)

I don't know why this has been such a secretive birth certificate. I had to show either my birth certificate or passport which was not obtainable without my birth certificate in order to draw out my PERS money here in Oregon. PERS money was money taken from my salary for retirement and matched. I just retired and am trying to draw it out. If I need this proof, shouldn't the president, who had a background of supposedly being born in Hawaii and living in Indonesia also give proof to get the most important job in the USA? This is the prerequisite.

1:29pm: I just looked up the needs to be president and it looks like Obama is eligible to be president. If you're born outside the USA and one parent is an alien while the other parent is a citizen of the USA having lived here for 5 years, you are a citizen of the USA. Go to my last reference to read it. I have a nephew who was born outside the USA, but both his parents are USA citizens, so he is also a citizen of the USA and eligible to run as president also. For Obama, the fact that his mother was a citizen makes him a citizen. If she had given up her citizenship, that would be a different matter.

Insidious Law of Shariah

Saudi Arabia has lots of oil and very few people. They have tons of money. President Bush has been friends with the head of state. The United States is in the hole as far as money is concerned. We've overspent. We're borrowing from China and most likely Saudi Arabia.

They do have strings on their money. I hope our government starts to be aware of the happenings in Europe and how The Law of Shariah is affecting them, as it could happen here. We can't continue to walk around wearing blinders.

What Saudi Arabia wants is: "to embrace Shariah-Compliant Finance (SCF). A Treasury Department seminar convened last week depicted SCF as nothing more than a kind of socially responsible investing vehicle that respects Muslim religious beliefs by eschewing interest-bearing transactions and those involving pork and "sin" stocks."

They are " pursuing a global theocracy". Their methods are indeed insidious. It could be that they expect more out of their investment than interest. They want control, control of the United States and its people. We are fore-warned.

Saudi Arabia and the Abu Dubai Investment Council: Hatred of All Peoples

Nadene Goldfoot
Unless you’re like the Saudis, Sunni Muslims, you’re on their hate-list. They demonstrate their hatred in their school text books.

Jews and Christians are their enemies. Even non-Wahhabi Sunni Muslims are not tolerated. They do not believe in tolerating others, as shown in Muhammad’s teachings.

They also teach intolerance against homosexuals in an extreme way. Their 10th grade textbook says it is permissible to murder homosexuals, and recommends doing so by burning them alive, or stoning them, or throwing them off a high building.

Nina Shea, director of Religious Freedom, thought our state department should consider sanctions against Saudi Arabia. Two years ago they said they would revise their textbooks, but haven’t. They are even used in a school in northern Virginia.

What kind of sanctions would go over with a country that we are dependent on for oil, and whose king is a good friend of our president? They will ignore our criticism and continue to teach religious intolerance.

At the same time, Arabs are buying out pieces of America businesses; Citibank, Barclays, and even New York City’s Chrysler Building skyscraper. The lastest buy is Anheuser-Busch beer brewers. Banks that are collapsing are continually being bought up by them. The Abu Dhabi Investment Council is one group that is doing so much buying. They are also a Sunni Muslim island country. This same group owns 9% of Reuters News Agency, known for it’s open anti-Israeli bias. I’m afraid that this is what’s going to happen to America; a bias already against Israel getting stronger with so much of America belonging to Arabs.
