Qatar Blasts Israel at Human Rights Council of UN

The president of the UN General Assembly is Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser of Qatar.  He has been President since September 14, 2011.  He spoke in Geneva, Switzerland as the opening speaker for the Human Rights Council.  193 member states were in attendance.  His speech was an attack on Israel at every meeting.  This man had been the former Ambassador to Jordan from Qatar. 

Al-Nasser was concerned about the "Arab Awakening diverting attention from this obstacle (Israel) in the face of international peace and stability".  He even had the audacity to say that "the Syrian people in the Occupied Syrian Golan (Golan Heights) " lack "freedom and dignity."  Evidently in his mind life would be much  better under Assad. 

Al-Nasser is chomping at the bit to undo Israel's membership in the UN evidently.  Israel was admitted on May 11, 1949 with 37 for and 12 against and 9 abstentions. 

Next speaker was Iran's foreign minister, Ali Akbar Salehi,  who also attacked America for burning Islamic holy books.  Didn't this "Human Rights" meeting have fun blasting  2 countries that actually do have human rights? 

This same Council does not get excited over acts of terrorism in the world.  In the past 10 years terrorist attacks were happening in New York, London, Madrid, Mumbai, Iraq and Jerusalem.  They were carried out by an extremist religious ideology.  Thousands of innocent people were killed.  The Human Rights Council never convened about one of them.  They didn't make any inquiries or resolutions. 

Yet when Osama Bin Laden was killed by the USA which was the justice he deserved, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, questioned the act.

When Hamas and Hezbollah fired thousands of rockets against civilians in southern Israel, the Council convened sessions, inquiries and reports condemning the victim, Israel, for defending itself when it lead to Operation Cast Lead. 

What did the Council do then?  They appointed Richard Falk, a man who the PA accused of being "a partisan of Hamas."  He was selected to be their Special Rapporteur on Palestinian human rights for 6 years.  Who is speaking for Israel, I ask?

How Spreading Propaganda Has Affected a Portland Public School

Israelis, which is meant indirectly to be Jews as it was created to be a Jewish state by Jews, and whose population is 80% Jewish,  are being crucified for defending themselves in the 64 year old attack of trying to destroy Israel and  now, all Jews everywhere are under attack.

Popular mob-like thinking in the USA is becoming the denial of Israel's right to exist.  The BDS movement judges against Israel just for this defending itself in the face of constant attacks. 

The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Campaign is the new form of an old attitude.  They try to make Israel conform to their way of thinking by not buying products from Israel, which is to allow Hamas and Fatah terrorists living in Gaza, Judea and Samaria to put an end to Israel.  This  is what their doctrine calls for. 

One window to this growing attitude is what happened in Portland's Lincoln High on November 4, 2011.  Director Paul Beran, promoting this BDS campaign,  managed to be the person who had vetted the DAM hip-hoppers that came to Lincoln High who in their chanting and video  performance were calling for the end to Israel.  A student was heard by others calling out, "Oh, how I hate Israel!  It so sucks!"  I feel  this reflects the lack of preparation some students had in the history of the conflict.  I know that other teachers managed to get in a little background.  Take it from me; this is a complex situation and takes  quite a bit of background for understanding, even for adults.   This student was sucked into the powerful negative presentation in which Jewish students at the school felt frightened and upset by as some even had parents born in Israel. 

Of course the schools's excuse in doing so is that they had been vetted.  Of course, the director gave his thumbs up on the trio.  The school staff felt it was all a matter of freedom of speech.  This freedom of speech was calling for the destruction of a state and its people, however.  The principal also said they take on some difficult issues and talk about them.  After requesting,  a Jewish instructor in the community was allowed to make a postive presentation to a few classes much later in the next month, after all the damage had been done.  The Jewish students and families felt it was an educational issue as the lyrics of the songs promoted terrorism which in their eyes was inappropriate to bring to the high school. They presented an extreme and mendacious portrait in which Israelis were shown to be like Nazis, and that murdering Israelis "is the Israelis' just desserts and that Israel is a racist and criminal enterprise.   Feeling oppressed is not a license to strap on a bomb.  Whatever, there's no excuse for terrorism.  Their lyrics condoned or justified violence.   The Arabic studies teacher who invited the hip hoppers in retorted that they had used art to non-violently express their views."  On her website she wrote that DAM is critical of actions taken by the Israeli government; however, they do not criticize or insult Jewish people as a people."  No-they were just calling for the destruction of Israel, which is a Jewish state, what was to be the Jewish Homeland, that's all.  Some of us took that rather personally. 

I had received an email from one of the Arabic language students who had made no connection to Jews with Israel.  Since the Christian "Palestinian" students at Lincoln were not upset, he didn't understand why the Jewish students were.  Does this go for several of the staff as well?  That tells me he hasn't been educated as to why Jews had the need for Israel in the first place.
The problem is compounded by the fact that the $70,000 and teacher of the Arab language program is a bequest from the foreign government of Qatar out of Qatar Foundation International and not a part of the regular curriculum.  The chief religious personage of the Muslim Brotherhood, Qaradawi,  lives in Qatar, and  has called a fatwa to kill all Jews everywhere.  For that matter, so has Ayatollah Kohmeini of Iran. 

The relationship of Israelis and "Palestinians" (there has been no such nation, but they bought the tag) is complex and takes lots of studying to understand.  DAM is either just expressing grievances about the social and political climate in which they live according to Lincoln's staff or they are spreading negative messages of untruths and hatred according to the Jewish students, parents and many friends."  One Jewish student feels like they hate Jews and hate Israelis and now does not feel emotionally safe knowing that these people-who hate her without even knowing her, were allowed to come into her public school spreading their message instigating her friends to possibly hate her as well.. 

It looks like some non-Jewish staffers at Lincoln have no idea of what the conflict is about.  They  brought in a very one sided group and even gave extra credit to students who attended an evening rap concert  and documentary screening at the Salmon Street Studio on  the same night of the school's performance if they wrote a 300 word essay about the experience.  I wonder if students were given extra credit along with a 300 word essay about the positive Israel  presentation.

Here's the biggest problem.  The Israeli-Palestinian conflict seems to have become a central part of the Portland Public School curriculum, at least at Lincoln, and that the Jewish community and parents of schoolchildren have only a vague idea of how it is being taught, by whom, and for what purpose, especially with a person and materials provided through the Qatar Foundation International and their viewpoints. 

My thoughts went to the Arabic language program itself with textbooks printed in Egypt, even though written by the Arabic language instructor at American University in Cairo.  Who knows what slant he is taking?  Not many adults here read Arabic.  Portland State U has access to al-Jazeera TV of which is used by Qaradawi in his weekly sermons where he has ranted against Jews and Israel.  Are these programs making their way into the high school classroom ?  My hopes are that even with most classrooms having TV sets, this program would take a special hookup to be received. But this remains only a hope.

 The principal assures me 100% that there are absolutely no anti-Semitic materials in the curriculum or classroom,  yet DAM walked in without anyone identifying them as being anti-semitic.  What is taken as anti-semitic to many Jews is not seen as such by many others as this case in point.  People, including many Jews themselves, can complain about Israel, but surely they're not calling for its destruction.   I think they stepped over the line into the anti-semitic realm when they saw no problem bringing in DAM. 

The principal and the language teacher are both too busy for a 20 minute visit by concerned citizens to see the materials used after classroom hours.  A too-busy reply was given to a Jewish parent with children attending the school.   Two retired retired teachers were stonewalled.    It only makes them even more alarmed as to the contents that might be involved. 

If there is no Jewish state, then that means there will be no Jews in the Middle East at all, as they are not allowed in other countries. Hamas-Fatah will have a state without Jews, whereas there are 1.4 million Arabs citizens of Israel.   We have always said that in our war with the Arabs we had a secret weapon — no alternative. The Egyptians could run to Egypt, the Syrians into Syria. The only place we could run was into the sea, and before we did that we might as well fight.-Golda Meier.  The staff must have let this fact go over their heads in their defensiveness about their actions and beliefs.  There are 48 Muslim majority states in our world of which 22 are right in the Middle East.  There is only 1 teeny tiny Jewish state struggling against all odds to survive in their midst.   Besides being surrounded by terrorists, Israelis now see just how hatred has seeped into America as well. 

So here we are: on a high state of security with a fatwa to kill us all, and an Israeli issue with Hamas/Fatah at an American  high school that has not been resolved and has not been brought to closure.  But we can rest assured:  "there's no anti-semitism at Lincoln".

What's This Qaradawi's Dawning of a New Islamic Caliphate?

Qaradawi, 86, the Muslim Brotherhood's mentor, is crowing that thanks to the Arab Spring, they are all about to have a new Islamic Caliphate again.  This is the ultimate Muslim dream.  He is out to conquer America and Europe as well through immigration and proselytizing, he says.  He has used his "IslamOnline" website, Al-Jazeera TV station, program,  "Sharia and Life" for the past 15 years and personal engagements to spew his theories, as well as the 120 books he has written.   He's even on Facebook.    President Obama just reported on TV that there is a Mosque in every state in our union today.  How many keep in touch with him?  60 million people worldwide listen. 

Qaradawi is the religious leader that Mubarak kicked out of Egypt who has been living in Qatar.  The Emir of Qatar is his best friend and protector.  This religious leader is labeled  a terrorist and is not allowed into the USA. Despite this fact, he has been the USA's secret mediator for talks with the Taliban terrorists.   He calls for the death of all Jews everywhere, the takeover of Jerusalem, and like all Muslim Brotherhood adherants, the destruction of Israel. 

An Islamic Caliphate is sort of like a United States of Islamic countries who are ruled by Sharia Law and a constitution.  The last caliphate came to an end in 1924 with the end of the Ottoman Empire at the end of WWI.  They were on the German side and lost.  Shi'a Islam differs from Sunni in that they are ruled by an Iman chosen by Allah from Muhammad's chosen descendants. 

There was the Umayyad Dynasty Caliphate that existed in the 7th and 8th century.  Abbasid historians wrote that they had been  just pleasure-loving, hard-drinking usurpers of the caliphate.  Not all were, though.  They had a vast empire with different religious levels  and problems to administer.  Spain was a part of their empire.  Palestine was not. 

The Christians waged 8 Holy wars against the Moslems from 1095 to 1291 CE in the "Crusades."  They tried to take back sites they considered a part of Christianity, and in doing so also killed Jews in Jerusalem as they couldn't tell a Moslem from a Jew. 

The Abbasids ruled through the 8th to 13th century. They preached Arab supremacy, which made Iranians and Syrians resentful.   Now their society went international.  A group of Turks, the Saljuqs, ruled Palestine around 1000-1500  CE. The Abbasids  had some pretty decent rulings like caring for strangers in hostels, except  women were segregated and were kept in the home  rearing children except for the slave girls who amused men with singing and dancing.  Polygamy was permitted with men allowed to have 4 wives.  It was a slave society.  Men also kept about 6 slave concubines.  There were many who had not converted at this period, most still being Zorroastrians, Nestorians, Orthodox and Coptic Christians.  The Jews were a very small number. 

They persecuted all non-Muslims.  The dhimmi (non Muslim) could not build places of worship and if any were around were demolished. They had to wear special clothing, and some were even branded on their foreheads.  Homes could not be higher than Muslims, and in court were not heard from as their testimony was not admissable.  Dhimmis had to pay a head tax away from the capital and bow down when paying it.  It was in these days that many conversions occurred to escape the hardships.  The only Christians and Jews treated well were those that attained a higher level of education and skill, like some businessmen, court physicians, philosophers and  vazirs. The poor cried out: "Oh, that the tyranny of the Umayyads would return, Oh, that the justice of the Abbasids would go to hell!"

I think that the 48 Muslim majority states of the world, and there will be 49 if Palestine becomes another state,  should be aware of what Qaradawi is proposing.  The Ottoman Caliphate that we refer to as the Ottoman Empire was also just as bad.  All was not a bed of roses.  There have been so many attacks on Christians of late in Egypt that even they won't stand a chance of having a life.

Americans have a problem in viewing this danger as we are used to religious liberty and in not criticizing one another's religion.  It's hard for us to accept that the religion of Islam  has "Takia", the act of allowing lying to infidels about their religion.  Yet they are very brazen in announcing their intentions, like it's braggadocio.  .  It's time to think outside the box and see danger when it announces itself as such.

Fatah and Hamas Try Again to Unite

The two terrorist groups in Gaza have gone through the motions of uniting to join forces against Israel.  This time PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas met on Sunday with Hamas's Chief Khaled Mashaal in the tiny state next door to Saudi Arabia, Qatar.  They are in the act of forming their unity government.  They did have an agreement signed last May, but still can't come to an agreement to agree with it.

  Qatar has become most important as a tiny state with a lot of backing.  They have managed to ingratiate themselves in the world with their Qatar Foundation which promotes their beliefs with education, and that comes in the form of financial backing.  Qaradawi, the top religious Muslim in the world, resides in Qatar and is the best friend of the Emir.  He has called for the death of all Jews and just finished a speaking engagement in Egypt. 

This Doha, Qatar meeting comes after having 5 meetings in Jordan with the king and with Israel in which they were to discuss a peace pact, but they got nowhere. Jordan does have a peace agreement with Israel.   Now they're just meeting and need assistance to unite together as one Palestinian terrorist group again.  They plan to hold elections in the near future. 

Previously, the two men met in Cairo for meetings, but have been unable to follow up on any agreement they reached.  Fatah had been the ruling party when Hamas overpowered them and sent Abbas into exile to live in Judea/Samaria.  The West has always thought that Fatah had been more reasonable and less violent, but in reality it isn't much different.  Fatah has been supplying salaries to Gazan terrorists as well as media through children's TV programs on PA TV that glorify terrorists as heros.  They glorify terrorists by naming streets and buildings after terrorists as well.  Maps in schools do not show Israel.  Textbooks have also been hateful towards Israel. 

One point of disagreement between these two groups is who is to be Prime Minister.  Hamas is not agreeing to the present Prime Minister Salam Fayyad as the head.  They also talked about a travel ban that Hamas put on Fatah officials in Gaza and Palestinian passports to people living in Judea/Samaria.  Another disagreement they are having is over Hamas's charter which they refuse to change.  It reads like the Muslim Brotherhood calling for the destruction of Israel.  They will not recognize the State of Israel.  By hooking up with Hamas, the USA is so disgusted that they are not going to fork over anymore money to them.  Hamas also refuses to follow the directive of the Quartet,  who are Russia, UN and European Union who say they are trying to establish peace.  Hamas must give up violence and recognize Israel's right to exist and uphold previous peace pacts. 

Fatah works out of Ramallah, Samaria, which is where their government lies.  They broadcast in Arabic different things that they might say in English.  Abbas speaks in English and says to all, "support peace,' while his planned events honor bloodthirsty terrorists that murdered Israelis.  If ever there was a two-faced person, it is he. 

All the fighting going on in Syria has driven out a senior Hamas official who had decided to reside there for the past 21 years, but things have gotten out of hand.  Emad Alami came back on Sunday, not because of war there but because of growing tensions with the authorities. 

The best thing that can happen is if these two would follow the directives for peace that the  world powers are suggesting.  But Terrorists are not necessarily sane, and these two have a hard time agreeing with each other let alone come to any agreements, then they disagree anyway.  What good is a peace pact going to be with them and how long will it last?   These terrorists' agreements last about as long as some Hollywood marriages, a few days.  This is a struggle of power, and Abbas was the loser before.

Update:   Abbas was suggested to be interim government PM  till elections by Qatar.

Mufti Muhammad Hussein: Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

On the 18th of January I wrote a blog about the PA's religious leader, the Mufti Muhammad Hussein calling a fatwa against all Jews.  Now he's denying it.  His speech was recorded on TV and translated by the Palestinian Media Watch.  Hussein was calling for the slaughter of all Jews everywhere, and is no doubt following in the footsteps of an even greater Islamist in Qatar, Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, great friend of Qatar's Emir Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani.   Obama chose Qaradawi to mediate peace talks with the Taliban, a terrorist group.  Qaradawi would be on the USA terrorist list, but the Emir, who helps out the USA, has him protected. 

Hussein is copping a plea saying that "sentences were cut from his speech.  He also mentioned that Islam calls for respect of all human beings.  Why is it then that these religious Islamists call Jews "Pigs'?  Are we not humans?   As he copped a plea about his deed, he forgets that he is already taped saying it all in a speech 2 weeks ago.. 

Where does all this hatred come from for Jews, many might wonder?  It's fairly simple.  Jews  would not convert to the new ideas of Mohammad which were called "Islam."  They refused his request and many Jewish tribes were answered with the sword.  Either convert or die was their choice.  Some did convert while others didn't even get a chance to think about it.  They were slaughtered.  That's why you find such hatred in the Muslim teachings against Jews, like look behind a rock, find a Jew and kill him.  It turns out to be a directive in hatred and killing instead of inspiration, unless that's their inspiration to take over the world.

Jews have lived in Arab countries since before Mohammad, but since Islam, had been treated as 2nd or 3rd class citizens as dhimmis.  Life was quite deplorable, but they were allowed to live, at least, which at times was a contrast compared to how Jews were treated in Eastern European countries or even in England.  It wasn't until 1948 when Israel was born that Muslims decided they didn't want to lose any possibilities of land to such low-life as these dhimmis who had lived in their lands in dhimmitude!  It was an affront to their manliness!    
 
The Muslim Brotherhood, of which Qaradawi holds top leadership and just lectured to over a million Egyptians in their Tahrir Square in Cairo, has in its charter to kill Jews and to destroy Israel. The USA calls the Brotherhood "Moderates."  They have won the seats in Egypt along with the Salafis who are even stricter in their Islam.   Qaradawi in 2009 said that Allah has imposed upon the Jews people who would punish them for their corruption, the last punishment being by Adolf Hitler..".Oh Allah, count their numbers and kill them, down to the very last one."  So they intend to finish what Hitler almost did, annihilate all Jews.  It looks like the Christians in Egypt are also getting axed as they have been attacked by Muslims recently, being there aren't that many Jews there anymore. 

The Arabs were on the Axis side in the 2nd World War.  Mein Kampf is a favorite book of many Islamists after the Koran.  Their hatred of Jews feeds into the teachings of Mein Kampf, so they want to believe it. If the Muslim Brotherhood controls the government, they will no doubt do away with the peace treaty with Israel which Israel has had since the 1967 War where Egypt along with other Arab nations attacked Israel with a surprising outcome; tiny Israel not only survived but won!  Sadat rethought his goals and came to Israel joining them in peace.  He was loved and respected for that.  It made him a mentch in my eyes.  His change of heart caused Israel give back the Sinai and their pact held.  Even Mubarak honored the peace, though it might not have been his choice.  He also held the Muslim Brotherhood as an outlawed group!  He knew what would happen.

Apartheid Practiced by Arab States Against Palestinian Arabs

Some 300,000 Palestinian refugees live in Lebanon in UNRWA camps.  They are there because their country wanted to keep them in this predicament in a chess game against Israel.  They've been there for over 60 years.  They live as a people without any citizenship in any country.  It started in 1948 when Israel was announced statehood and Arab leaders of surrounding countries told them to leave their homes since they all were going to attack Israel.  When the dust settled these Arabs could move into Jewish homes and upgrade themselves.  The dust settled but the Jews won and so the next advice was from these same leaders; go into camps.  It's their next ammunition against Jews. 

In 1959 the Arab League made a resolution of this to keep them in camps and how they were to be treated.  They realize too late that they have no rights, no citizenship, no chance for jobs.  They're on the dole from  UNRWA.  Their numbers have grown immensely though they can't get health insurance such as citizens in Lebanon have.  In 1950 there were 914,000 displaced persons.  By 2009 the number was 4.6 million.  There are 59 such camps found in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Judea and Samaria and even in Gaza, all run by UNWRA.   

This is the same story in how they are being treated in Syria and Egypt.  Those Palestinian Arabs that did not flee at the onset of the 1948 war but stayed are enjoying a democratic life as Israeli citizens.  There are 1.4 million of them.  In this group one finds Christian Arabs as well as Bedouins. 

Occasionally one hears about traitors against Israel who are working with Hamas, but not often.  One such group I've heard about in Portland has been the DAM hip-hop trio who came here singing about how bad Israel was.  Perhaps they'd like to trade places with the people on the video below living in a camp in Lebanon.  It was Qatar who sponsored an Arabic teacher who was the one who brought this group into Lincoln High for a little brain-washing.  Their repertoire did not include a lot of English sung songs; and Arabic wasn't understood, but some students left saying how they hated Israel after listening to them. 

"The UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) defines a Palestine refugee as:   "Palestine refugees are persons whose normal place of residence was Palestine between June 1946 and May 1948, who lost both their homes and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War."  They neglected to be specific about how they came to lose their homes and that Jews had begged them to not leave.  It's quite a lesson for the greedy.  By coveting what belonged to their Jewish neighbors, they lost their own homes forever, for the people in the camps are most likely the descendants of the original population that left.  How long is going to go on? 

Many of the people living in Qatar are not native to the tiny state.  They have brought in many workers from surrounding states.  Wouldn't they like to take in some of these Arab Palestinians and let them become Qataris? 

It isn't Israel that is practicing Apartheid like the enemies of Israel keep telling people.  It's they themselves that do it on purpose to hold against Israel's head as something to complain about.  As PT Barnam always said, "There's a sucker born every minute," and only anti-Semitic suckers would believe such a thing in the first place.

Judea-Samaria Planned Attacks and Syrian Hot Spots

The Emir of Qatar had been involved in the overthrow of Libya's Muammar Qaddafi, and saw that that endeavor was a success, so now he's involved in another section of Muslim uprising.

He has established an army called the Sunni Arab Intervention Force which is training in Turkey.  It is made up of what they call the Free Syrian Army of 20,000 islamist terrorists and is all funded by the Emir.  They are to drive out the Syrian President Bashar Assad. 

Being that Syria is next door to Israel, this is frightening as they can just jump over the border and attack Israelis as well. 

This along with Abbas giving into Hamas's Khaled Meshaal  in a situation that can bring Hamas into Judea and Samaria is also alarming.  Nidal Dokhan, Military Intelligence Chief Major General ,  is replacing a fired former Fatah personnel who will help carry out an anti-Israel resistance campaign.  They plan mass demonstrations and will try to smash through any barriers, and thus break into Jewish towns and villages in Judea and Samaria.  Of course Abbas has not informed the USA of his new plans. 
I believe they are striving for a 3rd Intifada.
