No Peace Until All Murderers Released

Nadene Goldfoot

Does anyone see something wrong with this?  Since when would one country make peace only on the condition that its vile murderers are released out of a prison and into their custody?  Since when would one country abide by this demand and release murderers of their people?

It has only happened with the USA leadership in peace discussions that have been forced upon Israel after asking patiently for years to talk about having peace  with Abbas.  Abbas had quit talking and there was no peace between Fatah in Judea and Samaria and their sidekick, Hamas in Gaza with Israel.  John Kerry, Secretary of State is the leader of these talks holding out the carrot and the stick.  He's allowed Abbas, evidently, to make such demands, and Israel has had to go along or be charged with holding up peace talks.  How convenient.  Allowing the utterly impossible and then blackmailing Israel into being the stubborn mule.

The exasperating thing is that the murderers are the top of the line most horrible kind of murderers that abide in Israel's jails.  In this tiny country of democracy and common sense, the death law is non-existent unless you were one of the worst of  Nazi killers.  All of Israel's citizens are up in arms about this release of horror.  "Among the most notable cases is Damouni Saad Mohammed Ahmed, who was convicted of involvement in the brutal lynch of IDF reservist Amnon Pomerantz, age 47,  in the Gaza Strip in 1990. "  He was found stoned and burned to death.  and by that is meant hit with stones, rocks, not drugged, and then burned.  It happened on Rosh Hashanah, our major holiday of the birth of the world.  He had become lost and wandered into a refugee camp and this is how they treated him.  The mob attacked.  Ahmed was the leader of this mob attack.  It must have felt like accidentally opening the door to the pit bulls' arena.

Too bad Israel doesn't insert a chip in them for location purposes so that they will know where they are going as protection for others.  If they try anything, it should be back to prison without anymore chances of being released.  What they all have done is unimaginable to normal people.

The Palestinians are going wild with glee in their happiness to have won this bout with Israel by getting 26 murderers released in this 2nd release.  Abbas met them in Ramallah.   They are so happy to get back these "outstanding  heroes" in their culture. Surely now they will be the impetus to create more just like them.  More murderers are scheduled to be released, of course.   Is there anyone out there ready to trade neighbors?  Or Secretary of State?

What The Colonies Are That Palestinians Complain About

Nadene Goldfoot
A gang of Palestinian Arabs protested when Obama came to visit Judea-Samaria, or as they call it, the West Bank.  They are angry because Obama didn't bring change.  They are living in colonies, they say, not their Palestine. They'd better have a talk with Abbas.

These young Arabs forget that where they are living was originally Jewish Homeland.  In fact, after WWI the British took back their promise to the Jews of their Jewish Homeland and gave away 80% of it to Jordan.  Right now Israel is about 80% Jewish and 20% Muslim with 1.4 million Arabs as citizens.  Judea-Samaria is made up of about 75% Muslims and 17% Jews and 8% Christians.  But Palestine is to be Judenrein, so they're planning  to kick out all but the Muslims.

Where they are living and calling colonies are such cities as Ramallah  which is 6 miles from Jerusalem.  "Modern Ramallah was founded in the mid-16th century by the Haddadins, a Jordanian tribe of brothers descended from Ghassanid Christian Arabs. The Haddadins, led by Rashid Haddadin, arrived from east of the Jordan River near the Jordanian town of Shoubak. The Haddadin migration is attributed to fighting and unrest among clans in that area."

It is the capital of the Palestinian Authority.  27,092 live in this historically Christian city where the Christians are now a minority.  The British army lived here in December 1917.  It came into Jordan's hands when they attacked in 1948 until 1967.  Jordan had jailed many Palestinains.  In Israel's hands they could for the first time visit Israel and the Gaza Strip and deal in commerce.  However, they were leaders of the Intifada that started in December 1987.

Headlines today say, " PA to impose a curfew on Ramallah during (Obama) visit;  Palestinian lawyers demand Obama's arrest for crimes US army committed. " Hundreds of Palestinians gathered in the center of Ramallah on Wednesday to protest against US President Barack Obama’s planned visit to the city. "The protest was organized by the radical Islamist group Hizb ut Tahrir, which seeks the establishment of an Islamic caliphate." "

Hebron was called Kiriath-Arba in the "Old Testament", or our Torah.  It is only 18 miles from Jerusalem.  Abraham bought a plot of land from the Hittites, the Cave of Machpelah so that he could bury his wife,  Sarah.   This is history both Jews and Muslims share.  That's where it ends.

This ancient city was once a part of the Jewish state of Judah, a state created by the followers of King David.  It was one of the cities of refuge.  David reigned here for 7 1/2 years before moving his capital to Jerusalem. A Jewish community continued here through the Byzantine Period and under Arab rule.   It is one of 4 sacred Jewish towns;   Hebron, Tiberias, Safed and Jerusalem.  Jews lived here continuously.  By 1890 there were 1,500 Jews living there with established yeshivot and religious schools.  In 1925 the great Lithuanian yeshivah of Slobodka was brought there.

In 1929, when stocks fell in the USA, Arabs were all in an uproar and massacred many Jews of Hebron.  Survivors were forced to leave.  30 Jewish families returned in 1931.  The Arabs rioted again in 1936, when things were bad for Jews in Germany.

After the Six Day War of 1967, some Jews came back to Hebron, descendants of those who had to leave or die, and they established Kiryat Arba which is east of the main city.  3,700 lived there in 1988.

Bethlehem has been taken over by the Muslims.  It is only 5.25 miles away from Jerusalem.  This was the birthplace of King David where "the Book of Ruth" occurred.  Christians say this is where Jesus was born.  The Roman Emperor, Constantine and his mother Helena built the Church of the Nativity here in 330 CE. From 1948 to 1967 it was under Jordanian rule and came into Israel's hands from the Six Day 1967 War.  In 1948 there were 7,500 Christians living here and 2,500 Muslims.  By 1968  there were 32,000 people.

Nablus, originally called Shechem is one of today's  Palestinian "colonies".  It's so old its origins go back to the Canaanites with walls that date from about 2,000 BCE, and like others, was in Jordanian territory from 48-67 and now controlled by Israel.  It was under Egyptian control  back in their 12th dynasty.  Our biblical patriarchs camped under its walls and it was taken by Simeon and Levi (Gen. 34), 2 of the 12 sons of Jacob.  It became the territory for Ephraim, another of the 12 sons and their desendants.  It was a Levitical city and a city of refuge as well as the center of the House of Joseph.  Joseph is buried here. The Assyrians had attacked in 721 BCE and took many of the 12 tribal members, leaving Judah, Levi and some of Benjamin's descendants.   In 1967 it had 44,000 people, mostly all Muslims with a tiny Samaritan community and has for decades been a center of fanatical Arab nationalism.  A small Jewish community formerly existed here.

Jericho lies in the Jordan valley 825 ' below sea level, sort of like Death Valley in California. When we drove from Tsfat to Jerusalem we went through Jericho.   It is one of the oldest settlements in the world and its first city wall goes back to the Neolithic Period of 5,000 BCE and then destroyed by Joshua (Josh.6).  It was revived only during the reign of the Jewish King Ahab of 870 BCE by Hiel the Bethelite.  (I Kings 16:34).  When King Herod of Judea (appointed by Romans) ruled and built himself a palace there where he died.  The Romans then destroyed Jericho in 68 CE and it was later rebuilt where it is now.  It is now surrounded by orange groves and banana plantations.  3,000 lived there in 1946 and Arab refugees moved there in 1948, numbering 61,000 in 1961.  Most fled over the Jordan before Israel troops arrived during the Six Day War. and some 8,500 lived in Jericho and another 2,000 in its vicinity at the time of the 1967 census.

Jenin is mentioned as Gina in the Tel el Amarna tablets and is probably the biblical En Gannim (Joshua 19:21) , called Ginaea in Roman times and had a small Jewish community in the 17th century CE.  It was a center of Arab nationalist fanaticism in the 1930's and was part of Jordan from 1948-1967.  In 1967 there were 8,346 apart from 5,019 Arab refugees in the vicinity.

During the Six Day War, Jordan had attacked Israel despite a message sent to Hussein by PM Levi Eshkol that if she remained out of the attack she would not be attacked.  Israel's Jerusalem and border towns were heavily shelled by the Jordanians.  Later on June 5, Israeli troops began their moves against the Jordanian positions and cut off Jordanian "east"Jerusalem (including the Old City) which fell on June 7th.  The entire area west of the Jordan river, including Bethlehem, Hebron and Nablus fell to the Israeli army.

"King Hussein of Jordan signed on with Egypt to attack Israel.  He wrote:  The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel...to face the challenge, while standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan and the whole Arab nation."  They had 465,000 soldiers against Israel who won against them all in 6 days.

According to the UN statistics of 2010, The West Bank population is 2,568,555 and East Jerusalem has 192,800.  Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate claim 57,000.

Watch Out For Mossad, Folks: No Telling What They're Capable Of

Nadene Goldfoot

Mossad can do anything.   The funniest thing Mossad has been accused of is when the Saudis arrested a vulture for spying because it was tagged by an Israeli university with Hebrew writing on the tag.  By arresting a bird for being a spy is the level of their thinking.  They could get jobs writing for Jay  Leno.  How about the Egyptian cabinet minister who thought that a spate of shark attacks in the Red Sea was the work of Mossad-trained sharks to attack non-Israeli tourists in Egyptian waters.

Yasser Arafat's body has been dug up for testing to see if he was poisoned.  The Palestinians think Israel poisoned him.  In fact, they blame anything bad that happens on the Israelis.  Rumors were that Arafat was bisexual and probably picked up some social disease, such as aids, but they are looking for a different narrative. "His own personal doctor, Dr. Ashraf Al-Kurdi, said Arafat suffered from AIDS. "  Israel says that they had nothing to do with his death.  He was a terrorist, responsible for hundreds of deaths. This blaming Israel for poisoning him  could just be a diversion from the embarrassing truth.   Whoops, but the doctor is saying that Israel injected the HIV into his body.  He certainly didn't get it the natural way, the doc is saying.  They all have different theories.  I must say that he did spend an awful lot of his time with his terrorist pals who were all men.  Isn't this what happened to Alexander the Great who was in love with a soldier, Hephaestion,  in his company, ?

The man was 75 years old, having been born in Cairo, Egypt on August 24, 1929 to an Egyptian mother and Palestinian father and was one of 7 children. Arafat had lived a rough life as a terrorist, sometimes never staying at one place more than a night.  He died 8 years ago on November 11, 2004.    When the scientists opened his casket, they said it looked like the remains of a man dead for 8 years.

Testing was done before but nothing was found.  This summer they tried again when a Swiss lab detected elevated traces of a lethal radioactive substance, polonium-210 in stains on his clothing.  The lab said they needed to examine the remains to get more information.

This is against Islam to exhume the body but Mahmoud Abbas gave permission.  He was not present when the body was presented to the lab. Experts from Switzerland, France and Russia will examine the samples in their own country.  The results will come back in 3 months.

Al Jazeera, Qaradwi's TV station where he preaches from, took some of Arafat's clothes that his widow, Suha gave to the  Swiss lab for testing.  Polonium-210 decomposes rapidly and they don't know if anything will be showing.

Israel had confined Arafat to his Ramallah compound and Arafat was there for more than 2 years before he became ill and fell into a coma.  He had been accused of ordering attacks against Israelis, something he had been doing since 1948.  He was also in trouble with his own political circle, accused of corruption and pocketing large amounts of money earmarked for aid for the Palestinians.  Sura, his wife, lived in France and had money to spend.

The Arabs will probably blame Mossad, Israel's secret service.  If the electricity goes out, they think Mossad caused it.  If a building collapses in the town, it's Mossad trying to kill them.  If there's a repeat on TV, it's the Mossad's fault.  If an Iranian nuclear scientist is killed, Mossad saw to it that he had an accident.   Whatever would the Muslims do without the Jews to cast blame on?

Arafat was two-faced.  On one hand he would speak of a 2 state solution living in peace while on the other hand he said, "The struggle will continue until all of Palestine is liberated."

Wife Suha Blames Israel For Arafat's Death

Nadene Goldfoot
The Palestinians are desperate to find some dirt to throw at the Israelis so are digging into Yasser Arafat's grave to get evidence that the Jews had poisoned him.  The scuttle but on Arafat was that he had died from Aids because blood tests had revealed he had the HIV virus and had tested positive.    Arafat had been confined by the Israeli army to his compound in Ramallah for 2 years. He had been ill for some time.  His doctors had cited a possible idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and cirrhosis.  He was airlifted to a military hospital in France.  He died there on November 11, 2004.  He was treated by French doctors who said they couldn't establish the cause of death and cited privacy laws.  They couldn't give details of the nature of his illness.

With AIDS he would have experienced  symptoms like the flu at first:   fever, muscle soreness, rash, headache, sore throat, mouth and genital ulcers, swollen lymph glads on neck, joint pain, night sweats and diarrhea.  Later he could have had a cough, fatigue, weight loss, and shortness of breath.

They've dug up the idea that he died a slow death from Polonium-210, a radioactive agent,  that a former Russian spy, Alexander Litvinenko died from  in London 2006.  Symptoms of this poisoning would have been:  nausea, hair loss, throat swelling and his pallor, being quite pale.    Usually they get something like lung cancer.  Being around tobacco would bring it about as well.

This investigation supposedly came about because his wife, Suha Arafat had some clothing of Arafat and had it tested at the Institut de Radiophysique in Lausanne, Switzerland.  They said they found "high levels of polonium-210".  However, the symptoms described in his medical reports are not consistent with the radioactive agent.  Suha has requested that his remains be brought up for an autopsy.  He's buried in a limestone mausoleum in Ramallah.  He had died at the age of 75.  Muslims don't do autopsies, like Jews, but this is a chance for them to pin something on the Israelis, so are breaking that rule.

Israel denies any involvement in Arafat's death.  They said the onus was on the Palestinians.  Saeb Erekat, Chief PLO negotiator reports that the PA is pressing for a joint international-Arab League committee to investigate his death.  Of course they're counting on poisoning so that as they say," the perpetrators must be put to justice," as they count on them being the Israelis.  Peace talks had collapsed with Arafat in 2000 and fighting continued, which could have come about through his advanced illness or attitude.

I'm wondering where Suha had been keeping his clothing all these 8 long years.  Just where has she been lately?  Polonium is found in the food chain, especially in seafood.  It has a short half-life; 138.38 days.  I'd say his clothes were tied up in an enclosed space among crab shells or some other seafood and tobacco.  Is she smoking now?

Now who would have wanted Arafat dead?  It couldn't have been someone who was from the Hamas organization, could it?  How about someone like Abbas who replaced him in the Fatah group that Arafat had started.  The Palestinians are going to try to pin it and  Sharon, most likely who suffered a stroke on January 4, 2006 and went into a coma, not to revive and died only a few days ago.

OPPOSING VALUES: TERRORISTS AND ISRAELIS

Last month the people in Gaza danced in the streets, gave out candies and celebrated the murder of eight yeshiva students in Jerusalem by one of their people. A trusted Arab driver turned terrorist that the school had trusted. The students were young boys studying as they were murdered. The act of celebrating this slaughter is contrary to Israeli belief and causes utter abhorrence to the Israelis.

Kahil Shikake, Palestinian pollster tells us that 85% of the Palestinians approved of this slaughter, and even he was shocked at the high number. A people has become approving of barbarism!

This wasn't the first incident. Several years ago two Israeli soldiers accidently drove into the city of Ramallah, populated by Palestinians. The soldiers were lynched, dragged through the streets and torn to pieces. The murders marched through the streets showing their blood-covered hands and the people cheered. How terrible can you get? I'm not even sure that the old Romans were that bad.

The highest medal of honor was just given to two terrorists who were murderers in the Sbarro Pizza Store massacre. President Abbas was speaking of peace with Israel but had okayed the medal. How schizophrenic can one get?

A few years ago a Palestinian mob mutilated the body parts of six Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza and this was shown on TV. Again, the mob behavior is beyond cruelty of anything seen from WWII, and of all things, turning out to be popular viewing.

It reminds me of the video I saw while living in Israel. We could get Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and even Syrian TV programs when we lived in the Northern Galilee of Safed. I witnessed a Syrian program showing their soldiers biting puppies and snakes that were alive, and killing them in that fashion to show the public how strong they were. I vomited. I was in shock. I could not believe that people could be so gross and so horrid. That occurred sometime between 1981 and 1985.

On the other side of the coin, Colonel Eyal Eisenberg, Commander of the Givati Brigade of Israel , tells about seeing eleven of his soldiers blown to bits. In the midst of the attack, the soldiers had aided a Palestinian lady's baby being born and evacuated them. They also evacuated an elderly Palestinian woman who was injured by getting their Mogan David ambulance for her. She was probably taken to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, Portland's sister city. While the ambulance was moving, terrorists ran and fired at the very soldiers who helped her from behind it.

The actions of terrorists has been mostly to attack women and children. I remember seeing a graveyard in Safed, where I lived, made up of children from the school where terrorists broke into and slaughtered the children. Bombs are placed in buses, stores, restaurants and places where people congregate and they kill civilians. This is not a war of soldier against soldiers. These terrorists usually hide behind their own children, causing them death.

Arab children are taught to become suicide bombers, as well as unhappy women or slow thinking citizens who can be taken advantage of. Their lives are unimportant to their parents or people in the way we think of lives being important.

It is no wonder that Israel decided to build a wall to separate them from us. Not only does it help to protect Israel from terrorists and thus prevents more bloodshed, but keeps people of such values apart from Israelis. Golda Meier once said that the horror of war is that our soldiers learn the hard way of practices that are revolting to us. Even the Torah teaches us that we are not to emulate the abominable practices of the Egyptians, thus now meaning the terrorists.

We are taught that the experience of being slaves in Egypt for 430 years was to teach us ethical sensitivity to the suffering of others. So we learned in the Exodus not to cheer when the Egyptians were drowned in the sea when they chased after us after promising to let us go.
So today we don't cheer when the enemy falls. We get no satisfaction from the suffering of others.

We may have a history of being "cousins", being joined at the hip to Abraham, but dna is not showing much of a connection, except with the Kurds, who are not Arabs and are being treated horribly in Iraq. We both believe in one G-d instead of more than one, but that G-d is certainly giving out different lesson plans to our two groups.

We leave vengeance to G-d. It is not for us to do. Judaism sees salvation as being open to all good people, not just Jews. We pray for the salvation of others, not for their downfall. Our values are very different from our proposed neighbors, and they are values that we can be proud of.
