England Sunk to EU Level of Anti-Semitism

Nadene Goldfoot

The English have had years of clarity where they surpassed the USA in being able to judge what is morally responsible but lately they've missed the mark completely.  They were first to give the black slaves in the islands their freedom before the Americans did.  Now they've joined the EU in demonstrating their anti-Semitism.  Richard Bogle was a freed slave, freed by the British when he left Jamaica in the early 1800's and went to California to pan for gold when he met up with a wagon train going west.  This wagon train held the slaves owned by the train's leader who would not be accepted to live in Oregon.

They have become morally warped by joining the EU in the anti-Semitic act of Boycotting Israeli towns who produce foods and flowers in the Judea-Samaria Jordan Valley.   They joined the bandwagon entirely and blindly in this BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement that is an international campaign that brought down apartheid in South Africa.  They're trying to bring down the Israeli government by doing this.  What is important to know is that Israel's society is the exact opposite of apartheid, so it makes no sense at all, except that it was started by those that have sided with the Arabs who lived in Palestine at the time of 1948 when Israel was accepted into the UN as a state.  The Arabs didn't go along with this and fought against the new state.  The BDS campaign was started by Palestinian Arab activists in 2005 to pressure Israel to leave the "occupied" lands.

What are the "Occupied Lands" that the Arabs outside of Israel want for their state?  They think they should get all of Judea-Samaria, the Gaza Strip where Hamas terrorists have the power, and east Jerusalem which has been united with the rest of Jerusalem since 1967.  Israel has been suffering from constant attacks of missiles, mortars and rockets from Gaza since the day they relinquished it and moved out completely for the sake of peace.  Now they are to be attacked from 3 fronts and Kerry is going along with this?  Note that "Palestine" is to be Judenrein-free of all Jews.  Only Arabs can live there.  Talk about apartheid, but that's okay if the Arabs practice it.  I haven't noticed any BDS people upset by this.

You can't be living in an occupied land when you were attacked by all your neighbors who tried to kill you and destroy your land when you are the one who won:  and won by a miracle at that. The fact is that this was to be part of the Jewish Homeland in the first place and is some of the 80% that was lost to the Jews by the bungling of England.   The numerical odds in 1967 of the Arabs winning were far greater  but Israel won, as she also did in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973 and 1982 and all the fights since then.  This is the only Jewish country in the world, cut down to 20% of the original size promised, and they are holding onto this 20% which is only 8,000 square miles for dear life.  Yet we see that it's much easier to give into the Arabs who are making a stink and want sections now of the 20% left, and threaten Israel.

I note that the AP article in our Oregonian newspaper  today wrote that "The Palestinians want a state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem, lands that Israel captured in a 1967 war, and the valley would form Palestine's eastern border with Jordan.  This is most misleading as it was a war Israel had to fight defensively.  They did not attack the Arabs.  Every war has been defensive that Israel has fought.  The way the newspaper writes, it sounds like Israel is the aggressor.  False!!!

The newspapers are complicit in calling the towns "settlements."  Europe, England and the USA called groups of people who are living together names like villages, towns, cities.    We do not call them settlements.  A settlement according to the dictionary is a place NEWLY settled.  These places in the Jordan Valley are not new.  We think of settlement when we think of pioneers coming to the West in the USA in the 1800's and their first stop as a wagon train produced some settlements that went up.  Also, Israel uses the established names of Judea and Samaria, not the West Bank, which is the name given by Jordan who took the area illegally.  And why not, only the Jews complained.  Not England.  Psychologically, the Romans called the land Palestine to erase the Jewish stamp on the land, and Jordan did the same thing.  The worst part is that established nations go along with it.  What's in a name of a land is a lot of history and ownership. The Arabs never owned Palestine.  It was under the Ottoman Empire for the last 400 years and they were Turks but Palestine  never became a state.  This was simply undeveloped land.

It was decided on November 2, 1917 by the Balfour Declaration and then  by the League of Nations after WWI that the Jews, who had been without their state of Judah since 70 CE and had suffered greatly from anti-Semitism should be rewarded for Chaim Weismann's invention that improved their ammunition.  They also assisted  in fighting against the Axis and were rewarded by having Palestine as the Jewish Homeland after being homeless for 1,847 years.   England held the mandate, but changed the rules themselves by giving up land east of the Jordan River to the Arab leader, Abdullah,  who became the grandfather of Jordan's present day king.  In truth, Jordan is Palestine today, which actually puts Jordan in jeopardy as they are ruled by a Hashemite king.  In fact, the scuttle-but now is that Jordan may fall next because of all the aliens who have entered Syria in fighting against their president Assad. They'll want to overtake Jordan next.   Assad  is a nasty man, a hater of Jews, but he was hassled first by the Muslim Brotherhood and was fighting against them as they were trying to take over and kick him out as he is an Alawite Muslim, not a Sunni or even a Shiite.

England has been very hard on Jews in the past.  In 1290 they expelled all Jews out of England.  What started it?  Probably the Crusades that Germany led in 1096 where they massacred Jews living in European towns as they went through on their way to Jerusalem. England did their share also when they went through.   In three years they reached Jerusalem and massacred the Jewish community there along with Muslims because they couldn't tell one from the other and they didn't like Jews anyway.  Jews and Muslims teamed up against the Crusaders then, probably the only time they've been on the same side.

That act was followed by the expulsion of Jews from France in 1306.  Then as it spread in Europe, 12,000 Jews were massacred in Toledo, Spain in 1365.  Hungary got in the act by expelling Jews from 1349 to 1360, Austria in 1421 and then of course we get to the Spanish Inquisition of 1492, and then after that Portugal.  So England and Europe knew that they have been complicit in creating anti-Semitism in this world.  Perhaps they knew that this was the time to do something to make up for their sins and create the Jewish Homeland.

Today, after fighting a 2nd world war, England, the EU and even the USA are not about to fight against anything that might affect their comfort zone like the USA has done in the past.  The leaders are giving into the Muslim Brotherhood who have been led by their religious leader, Qaradawi,  whose compact is to destroy Israel and kill Jews.

The Boycott has been going on for several years now.  It is ironic that who is hurting are the 6,000 Arabs that are employed on the farms there have been greatly hurt by the boycott along with the farmers who have lost 14% of their exports.  Translated into money, that's a loss of $29 million dollars just last year.   That's because the Western European supermarket chains of Britain and Scandinavia are not buying their peppers, dates, grapes and fresh herbs.  7,000 Jews are economically hurting from the boycott.

Most Arabs living in Judea-Samaria do not want to be taken over by Fatah or Hamas.  They'd rather stay under Israeli management.

Who is England and the EU really caring about?  Isn't this comparable to the Crusades?  Kill off the Jews and their country?  Let the Arabs take it over?  Keep the 22 Arab nations of the neighborhood happy?  Sit back, close your eyes, watch your telly.  There never has been a state of Palestine.  Most all Arabs there were recent immigrants who came to find work from the Jews who were building up places like Tel Aviv. In fact, many Arabs were Beduins who were nomadic and ranged the whole land on camels.  The Arabs called themselves Syrians, not Palestinians.  Before 1948, both Jews and Arabs were referred to as Palestinians on their passports.  The name came from the Romans who renamed it in 135 CE.   A few had been landowners but most of them sold their holdings to the Jews so they could live in better places than this scrubby unwanted land that only Jews could love and nourish.  They charged exaggerated high prices and Jews paid because for them this was all  holy land and they had signed a compact with G-d through Moses to care for it.

England, you held the mandate to make sure the Jewish Homeland was created.  You've botched it terribly.  Now you've joined the side that is out to destroy Israel.  You're just like the Muslim Brotherhood in this.  So is the EU who have a longer history of anti-Semitic acts including the Holocaust.  Evidently you've all turned into wimps or gave up studying history, for this is an unforgivable sin.  We are now at the stage of 1939, back to the horrors man allowed 75 years ago.  It's time to get some backbone and some brighter students who are not sheep who follow the crowd  to stop such acts as this BDS movement.

This is why Israel is a very needed state.  Had Palestine  been open before and during  WWII, lives would have been saved, but England made sure that refugees from Germany and the rest of Europe would never land in "Palestine."  It was closed to them even though they were to have a Jewish Homeland.  It wasn't until 1948 and another vote in the UN that Israel was allowed as a state, and now everyone is in the act of destroying the only viable democratic state in the Middle East.  May G-d have mercy on Israel for their neighbors and "friends" know not or care not for what they do to harm you!  Once again Jews are being sacrificed politically.

Double Standards Used in Freedom of Speech Against Jews

Nadene Goldfoot
The David Horowitz Freedom Center has found out the hard way that Jews are not free to express any facts that might defend themselves on college campuses.

Every year since 2005, colleges and universities in the USA hold an Israeli Apartheid Week that is based on hatred,  misinformation and downright lies about Israel. "It in general is a Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns as part of a growing global BDS movement"  against Israel.  It ends up harassing Jewish students in attendance as well as support for Hamas, a terrorist organization.  Physical violence against the Jewish students is usually an end result.

This year the David Horowitz Freedom Center answered this disgusting week with an Islamic Apartheid Week, giving back something similar to what they have been slinging at Israel.    Only whereas  Israeli apartheid is a lie,  the Freedom Center's attack is based on the facts found in Islam such as sexism, homophobia and religious bigotry that threatens Jews, Christians and other minorities.  To do this they attempted to put ads in 40 college newspapers.

The ad's heading was "Faces of Islamic Apartheid"   It told of gay men hung in Iran, women and girls murdered for falling in love with non-Muslims. Also, it told of a Pakistan cabinet member murdered for trying to reform Sharia Law in his country.  In total, it told about 4 women, 3 men and a little girl who were victims of the real Islamic apartheid of which 5 have been murdered.

The colleges and universities turned the ad down.  In the end, 5 colleges turned the ad down in the U of California system who also tolerate anti-Semitism on their campuses.  It's shocking to come from such a liberal environment, liberal except when it comes to Jews.  4 others turned the ad down.  For those who printed it, they were full of apologies for doing so like calling it an editorial oversight.

One thing the Freedom Center neglected to do was to bring out how many groups of people are Israelis; Europeans, Americans, Africans, Orientals, Muslims, Jews, and even a few Christians.  They neglected to bring out the fact that the Palestinians, for this is what it's all centered over, plan to make their state 100% Muslim.  No Jews will be allowed to live there.  We do have thousands of Jews living in Judea and Samaria right now, and this is going to be very sticky as there are parts of these ancient Jewish lands already legally decided to be okay for Jews to live there.  They forgot to mention that 1.4 or more million Arabs are citizens of Israel and serve in the knesset as well.  But who would ever read these facts?  Certainly not a group designed to plummet Israel with nonsensical false information in order to promote their cause.

This constant barrage of hate causes great concern to Jews in the states.  Some have even tried to do what the Muslims have done to us with ads on buses.  That hasn't gone over too well.  I hate to see us stoop to the same lengths as what has been done to us, but given the circumstances, at times it seems there is no other way to get our views across.  Trying to tell the truth and get students to listen has led to the Freedom Center's ads.

What's wrong with our higher educational system?  It's turned political instead of a place to learn.  Of course, like in the past, the Jews are suffering for it. This is the place where intelligent students should be learning to dig out facts. It's the last bastion to learn true facts.    Israel is called America's friend by our government, but higher educators are allowing people to erase facts and only follow the prevailing crowd spewing hatred.  Are they encouraging research?  Are they bringing in speakers for Israel?  Are they teaching students to politely listen to Israel's view of the Israel-Palestine situation?  No, it looks like they're as guilty as those that spew the evil accusations.  Debates are not even attracting  students  who stay away if there are any held.  No, but watch them flock to a hip hop group.

Have the Jews Ignored Palestinian Arabs Human Rights?

Nadene Goldfoot
Maybe I should first ask if the Palestinians have ignored the Jewish human rights in Palestine. The Palestinian Arabs did things like attack communities such as Hebron in 1929 with full sized pogroms, killing 133 and injuring far more.  Emir Faisal of the Hashemite family of Saudi Arabia was  a willing sponsor of Jews coming into Palestine and settling down.  He understood their need of their own state, as he also had the same desire for himself and his people.  They only had to deal with the English who held the mandate over Palestine and the French, another mandate overseer from the League of Nations in achieving their states.

Hajj Amin el-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem was not one of the educated Arabs who went along with the Jews' return, however and did everything he could to attack and kill them.  Unfortunately many of the English  stationed in Palestine to carry out the mandate were quite anti-Semitic themselves, and made it easy for Husseini and his gangs.

This led to constant battles of  Jews and  Arabs, especially in 1947-1949 in the War of Independence where the Jews were able to legally pronounce their state was born through the newly created UN on May 14, 1948, only to be attacked viciously the next minute by all the surrounding Arabs.  Even though the Arabs were offered 80% of what was to be the Jewish Homeland, their leaders turned the offer down to opt for more warring.  There was no human rights to be shown the Jews.  They were trying to drive them into the sea.

This antipathy  for starting their own state of Palestine has been going on for the past 64 years.  A people who just want to antagonize and hate are now complaining that the Jews are not giving them any human rights.  There are even some Jews who have fallen for this vitriolic  propaganda and are leading the parade of  Jewish imperfections.

The Jews went through all the legal steps of achieving their state which took many years of red tape and many meetings. In their initial statehood plans the Jews  had wonderful hopes to turn the land into a real Utopia for both Jews and Arabs.  They were met with war.  From 1948 to 1969 they were not even allowed into East Jerusalem, as it had been grabbed by Jordan, which is a surprise since the king was the son of  Emir Faisel, who had shown far more understanding and desire for Jews to be there.  Jews later found that Jewish cemeteries had been used as latrines by the Arabs, showing no respect at all.  Headstones had been carted away to be used as paving stones.

Now we get to the Human Rights issue of the Palestinian Arabs.  1.4 million remained in the newly formed Israel to become citizens, but the rest had fled and were placed in camps.  It was not Israel's doing to keep them there.  They have been used as pawns in the propaganda fight against Israel, something that has been more effective than bullets.  They have not been integrated into any country or community, and even had a major battle with Jordan, so that much of their population is made up of Palestinians today.  In fact, the king of Jordan's son and present king is married to a Palestinian.  However, the king still is the king of Jordan, not of Palestine.  His grandfather had fought with his 4 sons in the war against the Ottoman Empire on the English side, and he felt he deserved his state of Jordan, too.

Judea and Samaria (West Bank of the Jordan River) is settled by Arabs and Jews.  Since 1967's Six Day War, Israel had become the administrators of this and of East Jerusalem being they won the war over unbelievable odds.   Of course the Arabs have not been happy with this and still plan someday to create their own state and have this piece of property pegged to be it along with Gaza. When and if they do, their state is to have no Jew living there.  So much for human rights!   Israel put the Palestine Authority in charge of it who take care of all problems, but Israel keeps the right to have a security force there as well, since they have had attacks from there in Israel like suicide bombers, for one.  The status of the administered areas have not changed and are waiting a peace settlement in which the borders between Israel and its neighbors will be decided.  The Arabs refuse to come to the peace table and talk.  They want everything decided their way before sitting down.  Israel has not annexed any part of the areas.  East Jerusalem was united with West Jerusalem and are served by one mayor for the better.  Israel's feeling are that it is to remain one and is Israel's capital as in ancient days.

There have been nothing but improvements since 1967 for the Arabs.  Israel maintained an Open Bridges policy allowing movement of people and goods between the administered areas and the Arab countries.  With Hamas being voted in power over Fatah, that had to ultimately change.  The people of Gaza had voted for terrorists who have attacked and killed Israelis.  Israel had even moved all of their own people out of Gaza for the Arabs in order to make peace but that just gave them more room to be used as a staging ground for shooting rockets, missiles and mortars into southern Israel, which they have been doing for the past 12 years.  It just keeps getting worse.

This is why Israel has had to set down rules of conduct to keep them from getting even more arms to use against Israel.  These rockets, mortars and missiles come to them through tunnels they have dug, and now they are getting supplies from Libya as well. Most all weapons come from Iran to Syria and onto Gaza.   Ships coming in must also be searched for weapons.  The truth is that Gaza is not being deprived of any goods.  Israeli trucks bring in supplies every day.  They probably have more items than many communities in the United States.  There would be no need for Israel to monitor shipments if there were no  shooting coming from Gaza.  It's plain and simple.

Any problem, such as Arab homes that have been destroyed came about for very good reasons.  They have housed ammunition to be used against Israel.  The families were given numerous chances and warning before the ultimate punishment of house damage.   It makes great headlines for newspapers who love to find fault with Jews, though, and that's what happened in the Corrie affair where a Washington state daughter was accidentally killed because she stood in the way of a tractor on purpose to protect a house whose driver couldn't see her.  It was a tragedy that could have been avoided.

What Israel has hoped for is that the Palestinians would get into the groove and better themselves economically so that they could run their own state.  They left nurseries that were supplying goods for Europe when they left Gaza, yet the Palestinians only destroyed them.

The general Arab population are given the education in their schools and homes of only hatred for Jews and for Israel.  It's in their books, on their al-Jezeera TV, in their public assemblies coming from their own leaders.  They're constantly told that it is the Jews who are  depriving them of human rights, but never told to treat Israelis like humans.  Even in their religion they're told that Jews are animals, pigs, whatever.

So I ask the world community who are all in favor of the BDS movement that is coming down taking away the human rights of Israelis, just what is being deprived of the Palestinians that is truly Israel's fault?   If they are so sensitive of human rights, what could Israel have possibly done better?  How would the United States have handled it and remember, we're comparing today's 7 million Israelis to the USA's  almost 313 million.  That's almost 45 times more chances of coming up with great answers.  Of course, it's the Israelis whose lives are on the line, not the couch potatoes sitting at home refereeing the action in the Middle East.

No, the Jews of Israel have not ignored the human rights of their aggressors, the Arab Palestinians.  They have done their utmost to remember they have human rights. Israel has tried to live by the Golden Rule, treat others like you want to be treated.  But at the same time, they are bound and determined to stay alive doing so.

If you just look at Syria, you can see how a state treats their own kind when attacked.  For 64 years and more, Israel has had to deal with just aggressiveness and only a few groups have come to bat for them. From the Evangelicals, we are uplifted and find encouragement.  What about the rest of the world?

Presbyterian Friendship With Israel Damaged-But Responding

Nadene Goldfoot

Oh how fleeting true friendship can be;  here today and gone tomorrow.  The Jews are finding that the Presbyterians are this type of friend, sadly.  In 1987 they were our good friends, and in one of their General Assembly meetings of that year were all against anti-Semitic behaviors.  They did a 180 degree turn-around this year in their 220th General Assembly meeting in Pittsburgh and voted on a resolution  against Israel by promoting the worst type of attack promoting the BDS movement which tries to hurt Israel economically and attacks even their legitimacy of existence.  Their committee #15 just voted yes to divest from 3 companies who do business with Israel:  Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard and Motorola with a vote of 36 for, 11 against and 1 abstention.  They have even gone as far as believing in the completely false accusation of Israel being an "apartheid" state.   They just went back on  25 years of friendship.  The full general assembly will have a final vote later this week. In my opinion, instead of voting with the committee, it would be much better if they voted to encourage the Palestinian leaders to attend the peace meeting and find a peaceful solution.  Netanyahu has pleaded with them to come, but they remain steadfast in their conviction of  continuing their shelling, instead.

It all comes about in their belief in the Replacement Theology.  Now I'm all for people believing whatever they want-as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.  Religion should be something that makes people act in a better way towards others and be an aid to their natural understanding of being kind, if such a thing exists, which I hope does. I hope mankind has advanced from the stage of the Chimps who lash out at a moment's provocation.   This Replacement Theology belief has turned out to be an attack on Jews, something that I thought was long buried in the Christian history.  According to their belief today, Jews are no longer the "Chosen ones' but have been replaced by them.  In this theory, there is no room for Jews anymore.  If they want to believe they are now chosen, that's fine with me.  But by acting on this belief and using it as a crutch to harm Jews is terrible.  Is this really being Christian?  The other Christian denominations have voted NO.

As far as Jews being the "chosen ones," it's our belief that G-d, in choosing us, gave us the extra responsibility of following his laws.  We were the first to be presented with them.  Often we have said, "Why couldn't you have chosen someone else?" Remember Tevia's plea in "Fiddler on the Roof"?   Look at Genesis 15 and again in Exodus 19:5.  It's been a burden, but one we signed onto, so be it. Our conception of being chosen is not a superiority over others but our acceptance of  a heavy responsibility and moral duty.   It's like being the ones who are A1 in the USA Draft to serve in the army.  We're the ones who are to serve.   We are not ones to break a promise to G-d.  We are the stiff-necked people.

These new Presbyterian ideals have come to them through their trust in the "Kairos Palestine Document that has been written by Palestinian Arab Christians, who have a decidedly warped and one-sided belief.  This tenet attacks the legitimacy of  not only Israel but of Judaism itself.  It justifies terrorism for the Palestinians and blames Israel for all the ills in the Middle East as if nothing else has been going on there.  It fails to mention the actions of the Arabs such as their rocket attacks on southern Israel, the anti-Semitism constantly taught to their people in the schools, through the PA TV station like al-Jazeera, and in the mosques.  For them, the ends justify the means, regardless.

Update 7-6/12 In a narrow vote, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) rejected divestment from companies doing business with Israeli security forces in the West Bank. I'm thankful that some had reviewed their attitudes and ideas and did not pass this act that would have done much harm to the peace process.

BDS Movement Not Impressing Methodists

Nadene Goldfoot
The Methodist delegates at a general conference in Tampa, Florida have voted to reject divestment from Caterpillar, Motorola Solutions and Hewlett-Packard companies that trade with Israel.  I am most happy to hear this.

Desmond Tutu has been instrumental in getting people to divest from Israel..  He is South Africa's Archbishop who has endorsed this initiative which is like  adding one more pebble to the raft to sink Israel.  Here we had many Jews fighting against apartheid in his country but he doesn't want to  understand that apartheid simply doesn't exist in Israel.

The people behind this divestment are a certain group of Palestinian Christians, the United Methodist Kairos.  They are connected with Hamas and Fatah, who want to bring down Israel.  They keep drumming up antagonism with claiming that Israel violates Palestinian human rights and denial of their freedom.

The truth is that Israel has done everything possible to keep Palestinian  human rights and gives them freedom.  Palestinians of Israel number 1.4 million and are in the Knesset.  It is the Arabs living in Gaza under Hamas's rule that are attacking Israel constantly that don't regard Israel's human rights and freedoms.  It is also the Arabs in Judea and Samaria who are intolerable to Jews who also live there as well.  They want the whole land to become "Palestine" and be Judenrein, without Jews.  They attack Jews as well under Fatah's ruling.  The Druze who live in Israel are wonderful citizens and participate in Israel's Army.

I don't think there is another country on the face of this earth who are under such stress and attack as Israel, and to think that they are keeping their heads up above water and work to be fair to everyone is only a reflection of their inner beliefs.  They are a people surrounded by enemies in a world that seems to reject Jews at every possible chance they have.  This is one time that a group has resisted.

However, there are some holdouts.  There are several regional churches who will divest and they're hoping that they will be copied.  It's too bad they couldn't open up their ears, hearts and minds to find out what's really happening in Israel.  I would suggest they stay in Sderot or Ashkelon for a few days and visit with people there.

As someone whose mother had many Methodist ministers on the family tree, I am grateful that there are people who are rational.

Muslims Attacking Israel's Treatment of Christians ?

Nadene Goldfoot

“People that live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.” The pro Muslim people are busy trying to castigate Jews by saying in many BDS movements that they are unfair to Christians in Israel. That’s the opposite of facts. Israel has no reason or inclination to be that way. However, look at what happens in Muslim dominated countries and how they treat Christians.

In Jos, Nigeria an attack of a blast on Christians just happened where 6 are dead and 9 injured after seeing a soccer game. Spectators were leaving after watching the European Champions Leage semi-final between Barcelona and Chelsea late Tuesday. In the Christian village of Gwa-Rim, the mainly Muslim Fulani ethnic group of gunmen attacked the villagers with 5 people killed. They had gone from house to house, and 2 of the dead were children.

In fact, thousands of people have been killed in clashes between Muslim and Christians ethnic groups in central Nigeria in recent years. Jos happens to be the capital of Plateau state, is in a middle region dividing mainly Muslims and Christians. There have been lots of bomb blasts there. Why is it that differences of religion come along with the baggage of differences in politics?

Hitting Israel with Lies; The BDS Movement

Nadene Goldfoot
The gangs against Israel are doing it again.  It's bad enough that the Arab states refuse to recognize Israel's legitimacy and will not stop attacking, but we have Muslim sympathizers who think they must force Israel to give in and leave in order to ingratiate themselves as friends of Muslims.

What they use to attack with are lies, just like the Nazis used to do.  Few remember that the Arabs were on the Nazi side in the 2nd WW and were just fine with the idea of slaughtering all Jews.  Along with those lies, disinformation and propaganda are movements such as different ways to demonize Israel.

This is done mainly on college campuses, but also in cities around the globe, and these poor college students are so busy studying their own classes that they don't bother to check out facts.  They're being exposed to the "Israeli Apartheid Week" which will start off with a bang later this month.  This will be the 8th year of calling Israel such  terrible names.

They want people to boycott, create divestment from and have sanctions against Israel in order to delegitimatize it.  They don't want you to remember how the UN voted on Israel's becoming a state and how our own President Truman voted for it.  It passed and Israel was a state on May 14, 1948, all legal. They don't even want to know that Jews bought and paid for most all the land that became Israel to start with from some Arab landowners that didn't want to live in such g-d forsaken land that had been so barren.  They were enjoying Paris, among some of the better places in Europe.

They're demanding full equality for Arab citizens of Israel.  They already are full citizens.  There's only one thing different between them and Jewish citizens.  Israel doesn't draft them into the army and make them fight against other Muslims.  Israel understands feelings of people.  So that's a weird demand showing that these organizations of hatred know nothing about facts.

They're demanding an end to occupation and colonization of all "Arab lands", getting rid of the security wall that was built to protect Israeli citizens from terrorists, and the Palestinian right of return.  In other words, they want to force Israel into positions that would absolutely destroy themselves and that have been on the list to discuss at some peace table in which the Palestinians refuse to deal with.

They have never been affected by the fact that Palestinian terrorists have constantly attacked Jews in Israel nor have they ever fullfilled any dealings about peace.  They call Israel an Apartheid state, but never in the world can Israel be defined as such.  They are just the opposite.  South Africa was Apartheid, and that's it.
In fact, it is the Palestinians themselves that want a true Apartheid state for themselves.  Palestine is planned to have absolutely no Jews living in it.  They want this for Judea, Samaria, east Jerusalem, and of course Gaza, which already has no Jews, for Israelis moved out long ago.

Arab violence went on against Jews before 1967.  During the Oslo peace process, signed on September 13, 1993, 24 Israelis died from suicide bombings, and 14 more died from acts of Palestinian terrorists.    The Palestinians have been brain-washed by parents and leaders to hate Jews, and that is why they terrorize Israelis.  It has very little to do with the war of 67 where Israel won Judea and Samaria, two old Jewish states back along with east Jerusalem, the Jewish capital from the time of King David.  Since 2000 southern Israel has been continually hit with mortars, missiles and rockets.  Yet the BDS movement praises the killers and kicks the lone victim.

Most decent stores will not be swayed by angry Israeli-haters and will continue to carry goods from Israel.  This BDS movement is getting old.  Israel is a free Democratic state and will not be bullied into changing their charter and views by a global hateful BDS movement.  It's wrong and is made up of anti-semitic ideals.
Do they not have any decent mores?

Anti-Semite Honored at Stanford

Nadene Goldfoot
Richard Falk, UN expert and former Princeton academic,  recently published a cartoon showing a dog, with “U.S.A.” written on its body and wearing a Jewish headcover, devouring a bloody skeleton and urinating on a female figure symbolizing justice.

He is being honored by Stanford University's human rights clinic of the law faculty, which is headed by Professor James Cavallaro, a former Human Rights Watch activist, who is giving him special attention in a public lecture and reception for him.

Falk claimed that Israel was planning a "Palestinian Holocaust" in 2008.  After this statement, Falk became a monitor on Palestine through Assad of Syria, Gaddafi of Libya and other dictators.  His goal is to investigate "Israel's violations," so he never inquires a thing about Hamas, Fatah, or Islamic Jihad.  He is called the Special Rapporteur (One who is designated to give a report, as at a meeting).on "the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories". In 2001 he worked with John Dugard, South African and Kamal Hussein, Foreign Minister of Bangladash in the UN.  We know what he is actually doing.

Falk is using his UN post to legitimize Hamas.  He ignores facts of brutalizing their fellow Palestinians,  blasting southern Israel's civilians from Gaza with missiles, rockets and mortars and their incitement to murder all Jews.   Hamas came into power when the USA urged free elections, which is a nice democratic institution.  Hamas won by dirty deeds such as throwing opponents off rooftops, and who knows what other methods they used to gain votes.  Even the PA has urged his removal and see him as a partisan of Hamas.

Falk was asked to speak at his old undergraduate alma mater, University of Pennsylvania to the BDS conference there, but had a conflict of scheduling.  He stated that Israel was "playing the U.S. Government" and that this BDS movement deserves the widest possible support.

If ever there was a man hateful towards Israel, it is this 81 year old professor.  The sad part of all this is that he calls himself an American Jew and comes from an assimilated Jewish family.

Buy During Israel Week and After-Hadassah Chanukah Fair December 11th

Nadene Goldfoot
Buy Israel week from November 28th to December 4th is countering the efforts of BDS people who sponsor Boycott Israel, which comes on the heels of Black Friday.  There are many in the BDS movement who think they can control or bring down Israel by not buying any products from there.

"There are those who work to undermine Israel’s right to exist. One of the ways they do it is by boycotting Israeli products. You counteract this movement when you buy Israel, and urge others to do the same. Not everyone can shape decisions made at the United Nations or on Capitol Hill, but anyone can make a conscious decision to support the only democratic nation in the Middle East, Israel, when shopping."

The BDS movement against Israel (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions)  are efforts to delegitimize Israel worldwide.  The Palestinians have put much effort into gaining United Nations membership for the very reason to enable them to delegitimize Israel.  Israel was created in May 1948 legitimately through the UN. They  shouldn't have to defend their right to exist anymore than Portland, Oregon does.  Unfortunately, some of our American church groups have stepped in as leaders of this poisonous movement, which I think is very anti-semitic of them even more than being anti-democratic.  .

I'm troubled by these people who want to punish the citizens of Israel.  They are propagandists and anti-semites fighting Israel with this  movement.  We can  counter  it by buying Israel.

We need to buy Israeli products at any time we  can.  Hadassah's Fair at Neveh Shalom is on the 11th of December and is featuring an Israeli  Wine Tasting of 7 delicious wines.  Be sure to stop by at the table of Portland-Ashkelon from 11am on that day and see which ones you enjoy.  Hanukah starts on the 20th of December, so this is a chance to buy all Israeli presents.  A major part of Hadassah's profits go to the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
