J Street Not Surprising Me:Okay With Not Recognizing Israel As a Jewish State

Some of us in Portland had been questioning the goals of J Street, which has butted into the goals of AIPAC, who had been the only group acting as advocates of Israel. We feel that Israel has the right of deciding what is best for them.  Though AIPAC members are made up of Jews and Gentiles, we are not living in Israel, so cannot tell them what to do anymore than people in England can tell the USA how to run their affairs.

 I found out that J Street was backed financially by a very leftist billionaire, George Soros.  "The initial support of J Street came from multi-billionaire George Soros, who for a brief time was associated with the organization. Soros pulled out before the initial launch, so as not to negatively affect the group.   In September 2010 it was revealed that despite the organization's denials, Soros secretly funded the group." 

I note that Wikipedia left out the fact that Soros is Jewish and that he's a Holocaust survivor from Hungary.  They did go on to tell how he broke England's bank, though.  "He is known as "The Man Who Broke the Bank of England" because of his short sale of US$10 billion worth of pounds, giving him a profit of $1 billion during the 1992 Black Wednesday UK currency crisis."  To me he is known as the man who started and funded J Street.  It seems he wants to pull the strings as to how Israel acts or doesn't act and he and his cohorts think they know better than people who live there.  

 We even had a  public debate between J Street and AIPAC here in Portland, and they seemed off key in my opinion, just more wary, taking a slightly different approach in how to appeal to people. They tried to impress us on how they really backed Israel.  Ha!  Telling Kerry and Obama that Israel shouldn't expect to be recognized as being Jewish is NOT backing our one and only Jewish state in this world!

"According to Caroline Glick, deputy managing editor of The Jerusalem Post, J Street is anything but pro-Israel: "Through their actions, J Street and its allies have made clear that their institutional interests are served by weakening Israel. Their mission is to harm Israel's standing in Washington and weaken the influence of the mainstream American Jewish community that supports Israel."

Obama is supporting J Street, or rather J Street is made up of Obama supporters.  It's hard to tell which is which.  

 Now J Street has hit below the belt in what they are advocating and are taking an extreme opposite view that Israel and I take.  Let it be remembered that only Israelis are citizens of that country.  Being Jewish in the USA or anywhere else does not give you the right to dictate how Israel is to live.  It's Israelis' lives that are on the line by living there.  It's they that knows exactly what is going on; far more than any American depending on their city newspapers for information.  Israel is also a democratic country by itself.  So the gloves are off and I'm sharing some information from Steven Plaut through friend  Ziegelman. 

What gives me the right to say such things?  I lived in Israel from 1980 to the very end of 1985 and became a citizen of Israel, so I have dual citizenship.  I've never voted since leaving, but did when I lived there, though I do now have that right.  I know what was going on there every minute of those 5 years and know that very little of it ever reached Portland, Oregon's Oregonian newspaper, as I had my mother living there.  Then, I didn't share half of what I was experiencing because I didn't want to worry her.  Since then I've learned that journalism reporting is still very politically-driven.  So are groups.

"1.  The headlines are shrieking that two major American Jewish organizations are denouncing Moshe "Bogie" Yaalon for his criticism of American policy and demanding that he apologize.   Haaretz and leftist Ynet are giddy in delight.  But just who are these two "American Jewish organizations."

The first is the National Jewish Democratic Council, which is simply the name of the pro-Obama group of Jews who are active in the Democrat Party.   It is run by Rabbi Jack Moline, a buddy of Rahm Emanuel and initiator of the group (Pseudo-) "Rabbis for Obama.".

The second is the so-called "Israel Policy Forum," a leftist organization today loosely associated with the left wing of the Israeli Labor Party.  It evidently is largely funded by Charles Bronfman these days.  Among the prominent leftists on its board are "Rabbi" Eric Yoffie, Steven M. J Street Endorses Palestinian Refusal to Recognize Israel as Jewish State

In a development that is not sending shockwaves through the pro-Israel community, the “pro-Israel, pro-peace” advocacy group J Street has declared its support for the Palestinian refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. 

In a statement posted on the group’s website, executive director Jeremy Ben-Ami says that to “keep moving forward, both [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas] now need to give a little.”

Netanyahu, he says, must drop his insistence that Abbas recognize Israel as a Jewish State because “it is simply unrealistic and unreasonable to expect any Palestinian leader to consent” to such a demand.

Ben-Ami never goes on to say what Abbas “needs to give.”

J Street’s advocacy for the Palestinian refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state follows a nearly unbroken period of advocacy for Palestinian and Iranian interests since the group’s founding in 2008. J Street took the Hamas position on Israel during Operation Cast Lead later that year, accusing the IDF of war crimes and promoting the discredited Goldstone Report. It lobbied for the Iranian regime’s position against Iran sanctions. It defended the terrorists who attacked IDF soldiers on the 2010 Gaza flotilla. J Street also took the Palestinian and Arab League position on a UN Security Council resolution on Israeli settlements in 2011." 

 J Street says they have 180,000 members.  There are 6 million Jews in the USA.  

What hurts is that Jews are less than 1% of the world population.  We are a very individualistic thinking population, made up of a lot of leaders,  not  followers.  When we have AIPAC, who backs Israel, why divide up and have an opposing group like J Street that harms Israel?  It harms very much when it goes against what Israel says and does, and that's what's happening.  It's the USA that have been Israel's one supporter in this world, and here J Street is causing this country to GO AGAINST ISRAEL.    This is the biggest SHUNDA that Jewish people can do to their brothers and sisters.  

Remember our history of when King Solomon died, Israel divided up into Israel and Judah, and being in two corners, were overcome by the Assyrians and then the Babylonians which led to being taken by the Romans.  Dividing and not studying the issues can lead to the fall of little Israel today.  

We cling to the hope that G-d is watching out for Israel, because it's for sure that J Street is not helping.  It's been enough that so many have been against Israel and now we have Jews as well against her.  For shame !

English founder of J Street Shows Colors of Being Anti-Israel

I love real debates.  I've been a high school debate judge.  I'm glad I didn't see the one held in London between one of the founders of J-Street and  son of London's Lord Michael Levy, Daniel Levy, and William Sieghart, a British philanthropist and champion of Hamas, the  terrorists from Gaza against Caroline Glick, one of my favorite writers and historians and her debating partner, Danny Dayan, the outgoing head of the Yesha Council.

The resolution they debated read:  "Israel is destroying itself with its settlement policy.  If settlement expansion continues, Israel will have no future."

What we have here is J Street, the competition against AIPAC which has taken a much harsher stand against two very pro-Israelis who are also both Jewish.

Carolyn found out that no matter what she and her partner said, they were met with avid booing and yelling by the audience.  "She was prepared to conduct a civilized debate based on facts and reasoned argumentation."  Instead, she was met a mob made up of the well-dressed elite but defiinitely with an anti-Israel bias.  She came up with facts to back her position and this English mob was instantly raging against both Caroline and Danny.

Caroline is never going back again.  She said that the countries are mildly anti-Semitic today but hold Israel to a higher moral standard than its neighbors.  By bringing up Israel in a public meeting such as this debate was, the whole atmosphere changed.  The English don't dare attack others as it isn't politically correct, but atttack Israel without any qualms.  They show  their traditional snobbish British anti-Semitism easily when Israel is mentioned today.

Obama Administration on Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood Goals

"America’s fundamental inability to take religion and ideology seriously persists."  

Senator John Kerry, likely the next Secretary of State, stated confidently after meeting Morsi in Cairo in June, 2012 that the Egyptian president was “committed to protecting fundamental freedoms” and “said he understood the importance of Egypt’s post-revolutionary relationships with America and Israel.”

"The Obama administration has shown even more willingness than its predecessors to look the other way in the face of Brotherhood abuses of power—and of women and religious minorities—in pursuit of an “authentic” Egyptian democracy.  It has not taken the Brotherhood’s credo to heart: “Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law; the Prophet is our leader; jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.”   No wonder Obama selected Kerry as the possible Secretary of State.  

The Muslim Brotherhood was created in 1928 in Egypt and banned several times starting in 1948.  it supported the Egyptian Revolution in 1952 and tried to assassinate President Nasser.  By electing Morsi, it is now in power.  President Anwar Sadat, Israel's peace partner, was assassinated on October 7, 1981.   "The attackers would eventually come to be identified as Islamist nationalists associated with the Muslim Brotherhood under the name of Islamic Jihad.  Mubarak took over and carried out all previous peace programs.

"As a result of Sadat's assassination, the Muslim Brotherhood remained banned and the Camp David Accords were saved, along with Egypt's power elite. Vice President Mubarak, now President, completed Sadat's term and went on to lead Egypt for the next thirty years. Furthermore, had the Muslim Brotherhood assumed power back in 1981, it would have repudiated the Camp David Accords at once." Morsi won the so called election and put a very ill Mubarak in prison.

We all thought when Kerry  was running for President that he was pro-Israel.  Time tells a confusingly different story.
"At the Democratic Convention in 2012 Kerry ignored the decision of his party leadership to remove Jerusalem from their platform and instead opened his podium speech by attacking Romney for his “neo-con advisors” and then proceeded to quote Benjamin Netanyahu out of context."

We all know what Kerry meant when he said “neo-cons” – it is code speak for pro-Zionists. Kerry’s words show that he will be hostile to the very existence  of Israeli towns in the suburbs of Jerusalem. Democrats consider these “settlements” to be part of the “Occupied West Bank” and he will label them as such.  Such thinking is like a double-edged sword.  What does he not approve of;  Jerusalem suburbs or Zionists?  Obviously he hasn't checked with international lawyers such as Professor Eugene Kontorovich about Jerusalem.

President Obama does not seem to approve of Israel, especially with his tussle with Netanyahu over 1969 lines that was watched on TV,  and his choices reflect this  with Kerry and Hagel.  If Israel finds itself in a vise, we can look to our own Jewish population of which 69%  voted in this President.  Though Jews are only about 2% of the USA population, they are leaders.  J Street takes an opposing view compared with AIPAC as the  “pro-peace, pro-Israel” J Street lobby group and said Hagel “would be an outstanding choice” to head the Pentagon."  "(AIPAC), the most influential pro-Israel lobby group, has so far kept a discreet silence, although a former longstanding spokesman, Josh Block, who now heads The Israel Project, strongly denounced Hagel for his opposition to sanctions against Iran and his refusal to sign various letters and resolutions against Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas that were favoured, if not drafted, by AIPAC.

In Defense of Israel's Right to Exist Safely

What does J Street, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) and Stand With Us have in common?  These three distinct Jewish organizations all support one thing; the right for Israel to exist in security as the nation-state of the Jewish people.  The old joke of having two Jews stranded on an island forever with them building three synagogues defines the path these three take to support Israel.  When David Ben Gurion, first Prime Minister of Israel, met President Truman, he was told that Truman  was president of  152 million people.  "That's wonderful," said Ben Gurion.  "I'm Prime Minister of  600,000 presidents."  We Jews do come up with many opinions.   

Each of these groups presented different opinions about supporting Israel at a time in history when so many others in the world are against her.   Others are showing their disfavor with her policies by bringing about boycotting of her products.  Last night the Mittleman Jewish Community Center was the scene of a presentation of combating the Anti-Israel Boycott and Divestment Movement with the perspectives from the Left, Right and Center. 

Bob Horenstein was the moderator and reminded us of the UN Conference on Racism before 9/11 starting off the BDS movement.  There began global efforts to escalate and delegitimatize Israel.  At that time AIPAC and Hillel worked hard lobbying and our President did veto the resolution to divest from Israel.  It did fail, thank goodness.  We find that BDS is not a peaceful solution in solving any problems.

Martin J. Raffel of JCPA spoke first.  He spoke about how the UN not only has double standards for Israel, but that it is held to a different standard than any other country.  In 2001 Israel was charged with racism.  The Presbyterian Church came out with this method of boycotting to turn Israel around populating the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) and East Jerusalem.  Groups were comparing Israel to South Africa's Apartheid and backed boycotting.  We saw Olympia with a food co-op boycotting all Israeli products.  Princeton  had Sabra Humous removed from the menu, stevedores refused to unload Israeli ships, ads were placed on buses against Israel as well as other damaging acts.  There is a global campaign to smear Israel in favor of the Palestinian Arabs.  These are malevolent acts of uninformed people.  People are treating Israel like a rogue pariah state who is in violation of human rights and think that they deserve punishment.

This type of behavior is not the same as constructive criticism of policies.  Israel is facing a serious threat from Iran, and here we have people questioning its legitimacy.  Hamas in Gaza has been constantly attacking her.  How we can help is by countering these false claims.  We have 157 federations in the USA as well as many other groups.  Through our relationships we can show people that this boycotting is morally wrong and certainly counter-productive.  We need to educate people through our large network.

Rachel Lerner spoke next from J. Street.  She didn't really agree that the boycotting was a big deal or a threat to Israel, though a year ago she did work to oppose BDS at U of C's Berkeley.  She was in agreement with the BDS's good points but noticed bad parts about the movement.  Finally she did speak out at a Presbyterian assembly and told them not to demonize Israel.  She has found that many people speaking out against Israel are young Jews and that they are not lost causes.  She mentioned a San Diego student who hates the occupation of the West Bank.  She encourages criticism but not to go so far as to delegitimatize Israel. 

Rob Jacobs from Stand With Us was the last speaker.  He feels we can all work together.  Education is a key  to counter unfair criticism.  Israel is not a genocidal apartheid state.  The attack of divesting all of Israel's products is serious.  StandWithUs has worked on initiative 97, going to the Olympia coop to change attitudes about the divestment, working on the bus posters against Israel, and working on college campuses has been their line of defense.   He said that we can help by being persistent in our involvement to counter these false claims.  We need to create relationships, be passionate, and collaborate with each other.  Most of all, all of us need to really get involved and have personal relationships with people in order to change their attitudes.  He noted that the Presbyterians listened to Rachel Lerner because she had been criticizing Israel, so they felt she was one of them.  People forget that none of us are perfect.  War is hell, and that's why Israel and all of us wants peace.  We need to be compassionate.  We should realize that the Palestinians are living in miserable camps, but people also need to realize that this is not Israel's fault but their own leaders and they themselves  have put them in this position.  The majority of the Palestinians are naive and do believe the lies of their leaders. 

Bob Horenstein asked questions of the panel.  Rachel didn't think that the BDS movement meant people were deligitimatizing by doing this.  Martin quoted Tom Friedman.  He mentioned that even if Jews are against Israel they are still in our minyan.  He doesn't give up on anybody. 

It was brought out that there are constructive ways to change policies.  An audience member asked if this was also a show of anti-Semitism and Martin and Rob agreed.  Rachel's opinion was that young Jews don't see it as anti-semitism.  People have unfair stereotypes of Jews, commented Martin.  Rachel brought Israelis who were critics of Israel to university campuses for students to see that they are just regular people able to criticize themselves.  People see Jews as something completely different from their own families.  Even Martin commented that his own 15 year old daughter didn't understand why it was important for us to have a Jewish state. 

My viewpoint after hearing this panel is that we have to start with our own house and our young people to successfully understand what many of us older folks know.  I grew up with WWII newspaper headlines wondering whatever newspapers printed other than our war's progress.  At age 14 Israel was proclaimed a regular state in the UN and I had already learned about what our relatives had gone through in the Holocaust and why Israel was a miracle and a need.  This was at a time that the UN had just been created and I thought it was the end to all wars.  How wrong I was.  Our young descendants know nothing of all this by experience.  They've become a part of society and not necessarily a part of us.  It's what the Pilgrims feared in Holland and why they sailed the deep ocean to get to America.  We've got to get back on track and educate our youngsters and our neighbors so that they don't throw out our baby with the bath water. 

J Street Co -Founder's Freudian Slip About Israel

In viewing the historical facts about the re-birth of Israel, one has to start with the beginning of Israel's history of over 3,000 years ago.  You cannot start with a week before May 14, 1948, which is how the Palestinians view our history along with J Streeters who seem to have accepted this viewpoint.

Also, one should be very well versed in the history of the Arabs now calling themselves "Palestinians."  The best history book out about this is "From Time Immemorial-the origins of the Arab-Jewish conflict over Palestine by Joan Peters.  It was done so well by this Christian journalist that our American presidents had her on their counsel as an advisor.  Nay-sayers such as Chomsky and Finklestein (the latter now barred from entering Israel) have not accepted her work as they are on the opposite side and do not back Israel's existence at all. 

One week before Israel's birthday happened to be a scene of intense fighting for the Jews in Israel.  They were fighting against Arabs attacking them along with the British who hadn't left as yet.  My own cousin, Stanley Goldfoot was involved.  He saw the 70 some doctors killed trying to get to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem while driving there, attacked by Arabs.  He had been in prison in Acco.  By the act of President Truman, we were able to declare Israel a state once again.  The fighting didn't stop.  If anything, it intensified.   Israel was attacked by all the surrounding Arab nations as a result.  Not only that, but Jews living in Arab lands were thrown out of their country and wound up coming to Israel at the same time that Arab leaders told their people to leave this new land of Israel. 

Daniel Levy  happens to be a co-founder of J Street.  He was attending their convention held in Washington in March.  He told everyone that perhaps Israel isn't such a good idea, and this tells me that his background is so lacking that he doesn't have any education at all about Israel's history.  Otherwise he wouldn't feel that way.  This defeatist is a leader in an opposing group to AIPAC, who happen to be supporters of Israel. 

Jews happen to be a very independent group of original thinkers.  Our in-joke about ourselves is that if two Jews were stranded on an island they would build three synagogues; one for each and the other for the one neither would want to attend.  Israel follows this in its government by having from the very left to the very right as members of the Knesset.  Hopefully we all have one thing in common: a belief in the right of Israel to exist.  It isn't even up for discussion.  Yet here is a J Street leader lacking the faith in the country he says he is supporting, albeit in a very peculiar way as we have been seeing.  His Freudian slip tells us the truth:  he doesn't. 

I contend that the Palestinians demanding to have a state of their own now stems from their leadership who advised them to leave Palestine as they were attacking and after winning the people could take over the homes of Jews.  These "Palestinians" have continued to be used as pawns in the fight against Israel's existence. They have been fed a history written by their leaders about themselves and Israel filled with lies.   Those that stayed are now a part of Israel, even serving in the Knesset.   We don't need a group who when the going gets tough are the first to give in.  We need to back a group who is supportive and helpful.

The Big Pretender: J Street

It's not enough that Israel has been attacked at the beginning of its birth on May 14, 1948 by the surrounding Arab nations.  It's not enough that it has had to endure constant battles ever since then.  Now an organization pretending to be on Israel's side has been found to be quite the opposite.  I contend that the Intelligent members of this organization have done a disappointing and half -way job of checking into it and are backing the Arab groups that are against Israel by belonging.

This has become so serious that the Knesset in Jerusalem heard testimony and evidence from Lenny Ben David on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 about J Street. With all the dangers Israel is facing, they had to take time out to discuss this group from the USA.   The truth of the matter is that this group hides behind the cover of being a pro-Israel organization and is known very well in Washington while their activities "undermine and hurt the State of Israel."

Examples:
1.. The Fogel family was massacred in Itamar, Samaria.  So J Street tried to block a letter from congress which was attacking Palestinian incitement.  J Street thinks that Congress should address the actions and words of both the Arabs and the Israelis that hamper the chances to achieve peace. 

2. J Street's leaders are Jeremy Ben-Ami and David Gilo.  They both claim to have 170,000 supporters.   They don't tell you that this number respresents all people hitting J Street's website.  They're tallied as supporters. 

3.  J Street supported the UN condemnation of Israel last month.

4.  J Street opposed the US veto of the resolution of condemning Israel.  They actually went against a USA decision we were all praying for.  Their cop-out, Gilo explained, was that they were following policies of 8 other American presidents-though they were opposing Obama's administration who viewed this as a dangerous and inappropriate act against Israel.  Rep. Gary Ackerman felt J Street was not open-minded or knows what is support for Israel and thinks their brains have fallen out!  This was a shocking and disgusting move on J Street's part. 

5. a. Two-faced signals come out of J Street.  They claim to oppose the boycott of Israel.
But  they also provided a platform for the foremost Boycott-divestment-Sanctions (BDS) organization, the Jewish Voices for Peace at the Washington Conference. 
5.b. J Street also co-sponsored a congressional mission to Israel with the Churches for Middle East Peace.  This group consists of pro-BDS organizations.

5c. J Street opposed sanctions against Iran.
They also state that it always supported sanctions against Iran, but this is not true.  They joined with the pro-Iranian lobby, the National Iranian American council (NIAC), to oppose congressional efforts to impose santions on Iran.Leader Ben-Ami and NIAC director Trita Parsi co-authored an anti-sanctions piece titled "How diplomacy Can work with Iran" in the Huffington Post in June 2009. 

6. J Steet supports the Sheikh Jarrah Solidarity group who are against Jews living in old Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem.  This group demonstrates every week.

7. J Street hosted the SJS at a recent conference in Washington.  The SJS manifesto calls for the "liquidation or fundamental change of organizations that contribute to the dispossession of Arabs, including the following:
  a.  Jewish Agency
  b. Jewish National Fund
  c. Israel Lands Authority.

8. J Street has supported Richard Goldstone of the infamous Goldstone Report damaging Israel but now detracted by Goldstone himself.  J Street even set up meetings for him on Capitol Hill while defaming Israel.  A Goldstone letter to US Congress came from J Street's computer of Morton Halperin, Soros advisor. 

9. J Street sponsored UNRWA leader-Israel critic John Ging on American speaking tours. 

10. Chutzpa of J Street includes intensive public relations in Israel by Ben-Or communications presenting  J Street narrative without any response. This communications Ben-Or is owned by Oriella Ben-Tzvi and Jeremy Ben-Ami!  Collusion!  Ben-Or respresents Israel's worst detractors like Jimmy Carter, the "elders," Yesh Din, Amnesty International, and National Public Radio in the USA.


 Money to J Street
1. Large contributions come from a NIAC director, Genevieve Lynch of New York.  She's on J Street's Finance Committee.as well.
2. J Steet has a political action committee.  They receive money from sources in:
  a.  pro-Saudi lobby
  b. Arab-American lobby
  c. pro-Iranian lobby
3. George Soros-anti-Israel billionaire-denied by Jeremy Ben-Ami.   U.S. Internal Revenue Service documents reveal this is not true.  Now Gilo said this was to have been kept a secret, and that Soros's half-million dollar contribution was small! 
4. Consolacion Esdicul, woman from Hong Kong, contributed $811,697 which was half of the 2009 budget.  Who she is is unknown and thoughts are about money laundering going on. 

What I surmise here is a wolf in sheep's clothing.  The discovery is who is really backing J Street: monied people who do not have Israel's interest at heart.  More than that, it's some of our own people who are traitors to their own people.  At a time when Israel needs all the support it can muster, it is being drawn and quartered by this selfish and self righteous group.  Gary Ackerman was right.  "Their brains have fallen out."

J Street Plays for Power by Slamming Israel

Our Jewish Review has an article today by Alan Dershowitz, the lawyer and my favorite defender of Israel. In fact, today I've been reading his book, "The Case Against Israel's Enemies: Exposing Jimmy Carter and Others Who Stand in the War of Peace. He's my hero.

He's my hero even though he's more liberal than I am. Right now he's mad at J Street and has exposed them for what they are. I've been disgusted with J Street ever since I discovered them last year.

J Street is power hungry, trying to break AIPAC's power, which I belong to, by the way, and who I think are terribly liberal for my tastes, and in order to gain this power is attacking Limbaugh and Palin who have spoken well of Israel and lumping Dershowitz with them. J Street's leader is Jeremy Ben-Ami who has been lying about what Dershowitz stands for. Dershowitz is for the two-state solution and end of " occupation" in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria). I have come to the conclusion that I'm not agreeing with him in that but agree with Dershowitz in every other way. He's one person that presents logical facts and conclusions. He's a lawyer who has not been afraid to speak up for Israel. We've certainly needed his support.

Dershowitz explains that J Street is focusing on the 20% of issues which can be disagreed with and he focuses on the 80% of issues that have a broad consensus within the pro-Israel community.

I feel that Israel is a democracy and has the right to decide on these things. After living there for 5 1/2 years, I know that Americans have no clue as to what it's like to live in Israel and have to contend with the things they are faced with, such as rockets and mortars and such. I feel we have to trust Israelis to make the right decisions. We're not out there sending our sons into battle or risking our necks with the neighbors who want to kill us. Israelis are not shmegeggis. They're more than intelligent. They're even more than brave. Know thy enemy, as the saying goes, and I feel Israelis know their enemy much better than we Americans do. I guess they're my heroes, too.

The last thing Israel or American Jews need right now is to be so divided as J Street is trying to divide us. We're a teeny tiny group, we Jews, and make up only about 1% of the world population, and we're as divided as can be. J Street and its cohorts of Norman Finkelstein and Noam Chomsky profess to be for Israel while tearing it down in every survival tactic that they come up with. Norman has actually been barred from entering Israel, now. He's not welcome. He's become deplorable.

Seems like I remember from my Holocaust studies that a lot of power plays were going on in America as our brethern burned in the ovens. Get rid of the ego, fellas, and get on with supporting Israel in a real way.
