This he must keep a secret as he lives in a Muslim world.    While he tries to find his mother,  he finds beautiful women who are  attracted to him.  All the while he works on defending Israel among his Muslim friends, a very dangerous step to take.

Where Can Syrians Find Refuge From Civil War?

Syrians came into Egypt in 2011 at the beckoning of Morsi, who thought they would add votes to his Muslim Brotherhood.  When he was deposed, the Egyptians were ready to send the Syrian refugees back to Syria, but could not according to the UN.  Only some were registered as refugees at that point in time, then the deposed Morsi changed all that.  Now, the government has reason to have them leave since they've been there past the original time allowed.  Egypt has more than enough of their own poor to care for let alone refugees for they have a population of about 79,089,650.

The American embassy is closed in Egypt so that Syrians cannot go there  to get the needed visas to the USA.  The embassies are situated in a war zone anyway where so much rioting has been taking place. There are curfews at night needed for protection.   Egypt has not been the safe refuge they thought they were fleeing to.  The American embassy was not even answering the phone to help these people when people were still there.
                                                                       

Sweden has opened its doors to Syrian refugees, but the catch is that anyone with a Syrian passport has to have a visa to Sweden, and visas are going for around $5,000 or more. Even a visa to the USA for other people can go for as high as $2,000 for certain ones.   After two years of being away from jobs, most Syrians have gone through their savings and are now penniless.  They can't afford to get to Sweden.  These people burdened with Syrian passports could go to many Muslim countries, like Turkey, but the problem again is the high costs of living.  To go there they need money for rent and food, and jobs are not available, so they can't exist there unless they have family, which most all don't have.

Obama said that the USA would take in about 2,000 refugees, but so far have only taken in 90 people since the start of the Civil War.  More than 2 million Syrians have left their homes in Syria.  Syria's population before the war was about 22,505,000.  Well over 100,000 have died in the war, more like 150,000 today.

If one is an American friend of a Syrian wanting to come to the USA, he cannot sponsor the person.  Even a mother cannot sponsor her children, especially a son.  I found this out at the Lutheran Community Services, who seem to be the only ones who know about visas to the USA in our city.  It would be easier today for the child to sponsor the parent.    Political asylum isn't offered to Syrians, evidently.   Only if the Syrian is a famous scientist or a former security guard at the US Embassy in Syria, can they have reason to get to immigrate to the USA.

50 people were granted refuge in 2013 to the USA and an embassy guard was one of them.  In 2012 only 31 were allowed into the USA.  He reported that he had been arrested many times  and tortured for 10 days  in Syria with the accusation that he was an agent of the USA.  He's now living in Texas.  Syria didn't need many reasons to imprison and torture someone who stepped over the line of acceptable behavior.  Another reason was if you were even interested in joining the Masons, or if you were Jewish.

The only recourse for Syrian refugees turns out to be Jordan's refugee camps with the UN sponsored  Zaatari near the Syrian border in Mafrq, Jordan the most likely.  There are camps sponsored by Jordan only that are far more dismal and in need of sponsors.  People are not allowed to look for jobs if refugees in Jordan.  It's a pretty dismal life.  This is atrocious for people who have been industrious workers and not people used to being on the dole.  It would be like expecting all of Portland, Oregon to suddenly live in a camp in tents  or small boxlike structures in all sorts of weather and do nothing.  Can you see problems arising?  Of course.

Most all Jews in Syria had left in 1992 and 1994 with the assistance of Judith Feld Carr.  She is a Canadian that managed to take them out.  That was quite a feat considering Jews were not allowed to go abroad and had been kept in a ghetto since 1948 living under unimaginable restrictions.  Judith has been given awards from Canada and Israel for her bravery, determination  and chutzpa.

These are problems both Muslim and Christian Syrians and a few Jews are facing.  Most of the refugee camps are full of women and children.  The men are in smaller numbers.  Men don't want to return to Syria because they will be forced to fight for either the state or the various terrorist groups.  They truly have the reason to ask for political asylum, but are not being listened to or given this right.  Not all the Syrian men want to join up with some group and fight.

Who would want to stand by Assad?  What kind of person would back him?  Syrians had free education and free health care.  As a president who is a dictator in reality, he did give his Muslim constituents that much.  He was an evil man when it came to the Jews, however, who had lived in the Jewish Quarter in Damascus and in Aleppo, the hub of the business district.  He had taken all their rights and they were actually locked up in a ghetto-like existence.  The fear was that they would join Israel and fight against him, so the story goes.

What Obama's Backing of Muslim Brotherhood Has Led To

Egypt has not been idle.  Since benefits from the USA were cut because they wouldn't keep Mohamed Morsi, head of the Muslim Brotherhood, in the presidential office, they have found alternatives.They had been gifted annually by the USA,  $1.3 billion for defense and economic aid since 1979  when they signed a peace treaty with Israel.

  The USA has gone ahead and has  frozen $250 million in military aid to Egypt.  This is at a time when Egypt has been overrun with Syrian refugees that Morsi had instigated and allowed to come into the country, thinking they were all from the Muslim Brotherhood and would be just the ticket he needed to back up his organization.  Since he was ousted, the Egyptian government would like to send these refugees back home, but are not allowed according to the UN refugee laws.  However, they have been there a good year, now, and are being rounded up. Evidently they are there on tourist visas and the time is up.  Found, they will be charged with being illegal immigrants.   It's a bad situation.  Egypt has its own 79,089,650 population with a big % who are also always hungry.

 News right out of New York City is that "Egypt has detained over 1,500 refugees from Syria, which included 400 Palestinians and 250 children for weeks and often for months.  they will be held indefinitely until they leave Egypt.  They've been trying to migrate to Europe on smugglers' boats, as they're run out of savings they fled with and are facing xenophobia in Egypt.  Security forces are making arrests as recently as 11/4/13 according to UNHCR.  They have been coerced to leave and dozens have gone back to Syria.  They didn't get listed as refugees because of the change in the politics; Morsi bringing them in and Sisi's  leaders against them as they could be amongst the agitators and instigators of riots, etc.
                                                                         
 Note that not all of the Syrians who fled Syria are members of the Muslim Brotherhood, though, and they are living in terror now of becoming homeless.  If you are a Syrian, you cannot get to any USA port to claim political asylum.  The USA is not taking in any refugees at all.  A friend cannot sponsor a Syrian such as what Jews were able to do for Jews in the 1930's.  Even a mother has a hard time getting a son into the states if she immigrated first.  The American Embassy is closed and so are the Israeli and British Embassies.  Therefore, they cannot get a visa to come to these places anyway.  By being on a Syrian passport, they cannot go to the EU, either, only other Muslim nearby countries such as Turkey or Jordan.  If they are educated, young, and want to work and live a normal life, they are frozen in time; stuck! Facing a refugee camp which for them is the kiss of death-a dead end to life and their education!

Egypt has turned to Russia, who had a lot of presence in Syria and probably still does.  The Russian foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov and Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu visited in Egypt "and left with promises of new strategic relations."  Lavrov said, "We respect Egypt's sovereignty and the rights of Egyptian people to determine their future."  The BBC reported this comment.

Obama tried to manipulate Egypt instead and said they should re-instate Morsi and wait until voting time comes around again.  Obviously Egypt was so alarmed that they couldn't move fast enough to get rid of him.  Sometimes, democracy and voting isn't all up to what it should be in new Middle East countries.  It hasn't followed the same path it did with our Pilgrims.    In this case, they weren't ready; didn't vet Morsi well enough.  How he got elected has always been a mystery to me, showing me that I just didn't understand the Egyptian mind to do such as thing as to allow a Muslim Brotherhood to be a leader when Sadat, a man I admire, wouldn't let them have an inch in the government.  THEY WERE OUTLAWED!  The big disappointment to me was that Obama thought well of them, a group who threatens the lives of Jews and of Israel, who wants to drive Israel into the sea, whose Qaradawi-head religious leader for the Brotherhood wants to kill Jews with his bare hands if he could and preaches to others to do just that!  How little our Americans bother to check facts before making up their minds.  Now the Russians have saved the day for the Syrians AND the Egyptians.

General al-Sisi, Egypt's army chief and defense minister felt this signified "historic strategic relations" and a new era of "constructive, fruitful co-operation on the military level."  This comes from Al Jazeera.

Egypt hasn't closed the door completely on the USA, however.  Like a man looking around for a better job than the present one, they are keeping their options open.  Mohamed Gomaa, political analyst in Egypt said that "Egypt's foreign affairs are being restructured, but relations with Russia shouldn't be seen as a substitute for ties with the USA.  The Egyptians have no intention to drift away from the USA right now.  Unlike the USA, however, Russia will sell Egypt weapons and not give them away for free."  They are businessmen, after all.

USA's Long Cozy Connections With Muslim Brotherhood

Has anyone noticed that the USA is planning on denying Egypt their usual loan on the  grounds that they kicked out the biggest head of the Muslim Brotherhood, Morsi, who was elected President?  Egypt could only take him for one year and out he went.  I'm not crying about it.  The Muslim Brotherhood's Charter is the standard for Hamas; destroy Israel and kill all Jews.

What is the Muslim Brotherhood to the United States?  Do they have our same values?  Not that I can see.  Quite the opposite, if you ask me.  The only thing they can offer is money and power of the Middle East. They have their own agenda.

Back with Bill Clinton's first lady, Hillary, who was Obama's Secretary of State, we see that  her closest lady is Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner's Muslim wife.  Three of her family members are big shots in the Muslim Brotherhood such as her mother, who is prominent member of the Muslim sisterhood.    Three guesses as to Huma's allegiance lies with.  Hillary loves her like a daughter.  Huma served as an assistant-editor of an Islamist journal in 1996 when she became a White House intern.  The journal job lasted until 2008 when she became Deputy Chief of Staff for Hillary.  The journal itself was put together by her mother and other family members.  Abedin also worked as a consultant on the Clinton Foundation and didn't disclose her consulting work to the government.

The Clinton Foundation  got a large donation from the Alavi Foundation, a front for the Iranian regime who aimed to advance their point of view. " The Alavi Foundation is the successor organization to the Pahlavi Foundation, a nonprofit group used by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi to advance Iran's charitable interests in America.  Most of the charity's income is from rent collected on the New York Fifth Avenue skyscraper the Piaget Building, which was built in 1978 under the Shah, who was overthrown in 1979."   They donated $30,000 in 2005.  Supposedly it was to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.  Bribes do talk in this world today.  But that was a pittance.

In 2008 the Foundation received millions of dollars from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar.  Qatar has been a favorite of Hillary's even though it is a major supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood.  On February 15, 2010, Hillary was in an official Al-Jazeera town hall interview at the Carnegie Mellon University branch campus in Qatar and was introduced by Sheikh Abdallah al-Thani.  She said she was impressed with their Qatar Foundation which is a partnership between the USA and Qatar.  Now, nothing much is wrong with that except that al-Jazeera is the station that broadcasts the religious sermons every week of Imam al-Qaradawi, a theologian of terror who also conveys the message to kill all Jews.  He's been the close associate of the ruler of Qatar, al Thani.

Qaradawi, the Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader,  calls for the Muslim world to damage the US economy by boycotting American products, incites Muslims to conquer Rome, warns the US to change their policies or face "collapse" and calls for another Holocaust against Jews by the Muslims.  His statement heard was,  "Oh Allah, do not spare a single one of them (Jews).   Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them, down to the very last one."

Egypt, who has gone back to Sadat's calling the Brotherhood a terrorist organization, which it certainly is,  just arrested Gehad (Jihad) el-Haddad.  It turns out that he was working for the William J. Clinton Foundation as its Egyptian director.  His father is Essam el-Haddad, a bigshot on the Brotherhood's Guidance Bureau. .  El-Haddad was also at the same time working with the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Freedom and Justice Party.  Then he became a member of the Steering Committee for their Renaissance Program, the plan to institute Sharia law in Egypt.  He was  also a spokesperson and media stategist for Morsi's campaign to become president.  So there has been  this very strong connection between those for the Muslim Brotherhood right in the leading chair of our government.

Who is one of the senior advisors at the Department of Homeland Security?  Mohamed Elibiary.  He was promoted to Senior Fellow on September 12 and had been a delegate for John McCain in 2008.  He's also the founder of Lone Star Intelligence LLC, and served on the DHS Countering Violent Extremism Working Group and the DHS faith-based Security and Communications Advisory Committee. He's a very active fellow.  What's the problem with him?

He praises the Muslim Brotherhood and says the US should support it.  He tells the tale that in Egypt it's a non-violent socio-political movement and that you can't call it dogmatic, violent or autocratic or dicatorial, totalitarian or jihadist.  No. He knows it in a personal manner, he says, better than the "Average White Guy, who has no more insight than what's available in the media."  He believes that it has acted responsibly, if not always effectively in the very early stages of democratic transition.    He feels that the US should partner with the Muslim Brotherhood by saying, "Our government needs to deepen our strategic engagement with MB.  He compares them to the Christian Evangelicals!  How John Hagee is going to love that comparison!  He's one evangelical that supports the Jewish state of Israel and is not a terrorist organization out to murder anyone.  Elibiary  associates with the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of American and pro-Khomeini groups and spoke at their conference.  It's a hardline Islamist group who call for fatwas for the gradual establishment of sharia law in America by using deception, marital rape, jihad against Israel and banning of Muslims in joining the FBI or serving in the US military in a combat capacity.  Of course they would do that!  Remember, he's a bigwig in Homeland Security.

Obama just chose Jeh Johnson to fill the shoes of Janet Napolitano, 56, former governor of Arizona who became secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and  left in September to head the U of California.  He's been another advisor on counter-terrorism and a former official at the Pentagon.He is a New Yorker,  there on 9/11 which is his birthday.   He's been a friend of Obama for years who wants this 56 year old confirmed as soon as possible.  He doesn't come with border security credentials that Napolitano had, however.  Also, " in private life, he became a prominent Democratic fund-raiser, up through the Obama campaign, before returning to the Defense Department as its top lawyer during the president's first term."

How Democracy Is Not Created Easily in Middle East-Or From Pharaoh to President in One Easy Step

Can you make a silk purse out of a sow's ear?  Hardly.  You can only make a pigskin purse. Perhaps democratic principals come to people slowly.   Democracy came to the USA out of rare circumstances that have only been replicated by Israel in the Middle East, and is very hard to come by in Iraq or Egypt.  Egypt had been ruled by pharaohs for thousands of years.  A pharaoh is a permanent title of the king of Egypt in ancient times.  It meant "Great House." and originally referred to the royal palace, somewhat like we Americans refer to the "White House."

It took at least a 1,000 years for Englishmen to want something better than English law.  A group of religious zealots went to Holland out of their frustration with the Episcopalian state religion in England but became frustrated there as they watched their children speak Dutch instead of their language, English, which they wanted to perpetuate.  They didn't want their religious goals to be lost by their children, so braved the idea of sailing to a new world, much as we would think of taking a spaceship destined for some just found planet with oxygen.  Luckily, further ships brought to America's shores some very intelligent men who were able to write up a "Mayflower Compact", named for their first ship, that set the standards for their budding democracy.  Look at all the steps we've gone through to arrive where we are today in our politics of ruling over a vast territory made up of 50 states which has 3.79 million square miles with about 315 million people. Out of the population are about 6 million Jews or 3% of the population.  We went from 1620 to 1776 with our constitution which continues to be embellished.

Suddenly,  our marvelous country, which is the 3rd largest in the world,  made up of all the ethnic people of this planet expects Egypt to suddenly follow suit and have a democratic way of ruling in their first encounter with democracy with Mohammed  Morsi, head of the Muslim Brotherhood.  He didn't have the heart for it.

The USA is the first country on earth to give Jews a chance of survival.  After living here since the beginnings of the budding USA, Jews have been able to meld  USA democracy with the Torah's expectations of Democracy for Israel.  Israel is a miniature USA made up of Jews from all over the world as well as including other religions in its fold with equal rights while still being a Jewish country.  The USA is a Christian country established by Christians.  It follows customs of Sunday being a day of rest and all the national Christian holidays meaning they are days of vacation for students and federal workers.  Egyptians tried it for a year and that was enough with the man they had elected.  They were losing their rights with him.

 Egyptians are facing about 6,000 years at least of a strong type of a one-dictator  leadership, from Pharaohs to Shah rulers of the Ottoman Empire to being under British rule.  President Anwar Sadat (1918-1981) was their last most reasonable ruler as President from 1970 to 1981, but even he saw that he was under the thumb of the Arab League when Egypt was banned from its membership because of his November 1977 trip to Jerusalem and made peace with Israel. This was even followed up with the Camp David Accords which shattered the fragile unity of the Arabs.

 However, Sadat signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979 before he was assassinated by Muslim Brotherhood, a group of Islamic fundamentalists, in the midst of the October War celebration  in 1981 while reviewing a military parade in Cairo.  Vice-President Husni Mubarak, who took over, kept the peace, even though he was a tough dictator with his people.  In due time he himself had been elected as President of Egypt.  He punished Sadat's murderers, the Muslim Brotherhood after a noisy public trial and released Sadat's political prisoners and invited them to the presidential palace for discussions.  He continued Sadat's Open Door policy and stressed the need for greater productions.  He continued relations with Israel and presided over Egypt's repossession of the last section of the Sinai.

Mubarak wasn't enlightened like Sadat was, but  tried to cultivate the friendship of the Soviet Union and the Arab states.  Egypt got back into the Arab fold when the Israel-Lebanon war occurred in 1982 which Egypt had protested about and recalled its ambassador from Tel Aviv.   Getting back into the Arab world, evidently  wasn't good enough to solve Egypt's problems more  than Sadat or Nasser had done.  Whereas Sadat had outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Morsi was the head of, suddenly we find him "democratically voted in" and in power, and with this power turned the tables and had Mubarak up for charges and jailed.

Islamists feel that Sadat should never have signed a separate peace treaty with Israel.  From their viewpoint, Sadat was a practicing Muslim and should have known the close connection of Islam with Arabism and the emotional attachment of all Muslims to "Jerusalem", if not to Palestine.  This is how the Arab world sees it today.  This is where Morsi was in his thinking.  Only the money coming in from the USA probably kept him from attacking Israel with promised American jet fighters on the way to become a part of Egypt's arsenal.

After a year of the Muslim Brotherhood's main man, Morsi, Egypt has had it and the Military took over on July 3rd, a little better than a week ago.   Our White House and Turkey are pushing for the "democratic steps" of waiting and voting in another and not taking over with a coup or even a soft coup, as the military calls it.  The USA cannot legally give money to a country that has had a coup.

 It's like a school who has a first year teacher hired on a trial basis.  If he or she receives a lot of bad reports from the principal, she is not re-hired.  However, Egypt and other countries have the ruling of a country that is stuck with a lemon for 4 years and then they can have another to rule the country.  Egypt found the Muslim Brotherhood to be intolerable and decided they couldn't wait for 4 years.  They had made a mistake and are bound to do the job over again.  Which makes me wonder about the validity of the democratic election in the first place.  How was it that they did not know of the dangers of a Muslim Brotherhood rule?  They had gone from a very secular state to Sharia Law with the Brotherhood.  It was too much.

Former UN ambassador John Bolton just wrote an article in which he lamented the downfall  of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who he said "understood his country better than the Western know-it-alls."  To have pushed for democracy in Egypt during this Arab Spring was stretching a country who was peaceful with its neighbor, Israel.  Uncorking the Muslim Brotherhood out of  the genie bottle was their error.  To make matters worse,  by backing  this group, whose charter calls for the destruction of Jews and Israel and the taking over of the United States is absolutely shocking.

Morsi (b: August 8, 1951) was the chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party which was founded in 2011 during Egypt's Revolution by the Muslim Brotherhood.  On the 24th of June 2012, he became Egypt's first "democratically elected" but 5th president of Egypt.  Supposedly he had 51.7% of the votes against Shafik's 48.3% in the election.  Shafik was the prime minister  of the Mubarak government.  It was "after Morsi temporarily granted himself unlimited powers to "protect" the nation in late November 2012' people began to immediately protest.  The whole idea of a democracy is to get away from a one-man rule and clever Morsi just brought it on to himself.

Now that the Muslim Brotherhood has lost face by being ousted, their followers are taking it out on the Christians who live in Egypt. " The attacks have hit across the country, in the northern Sinai Peninsula, in a resort town on the Mediterranean coast, in Port Said along the Suez Canal and in isolated villages in upper Egypt.  A new wave of violence has been unleashed.  The Brotherhood blames them for having supported the calls to overthrow Morsi.  Brotherhood members have shot dead a priest in the street and have painted black X's on Christian shops to mark them for arson.  Angry mobs have attacked churches and seized Christians in their homes.  4 Christians were slaughtered with knives and machetes in one village last week after the Military coup.

The 2011 revolution alarmed many Christians that overthrew Mubarak.  Coptic Christians are a small minority of the country and did not foresee what could happen to them. Egypt is made up of about 80,000,000 people of which 90% are Sunni Muslims.  Islam is a state religion.   Most all Jews have moved next door to Israel.

The scuttlebutt now is that Morsi escaped from prison during the 2011 revolution with help from Hamas.  I wouldn't be surprised being they both share the same charter in dealing about Israel and Jews.  Egypt's prosecutors are now investigating these allegations.  Chief prosecutor Hesham Barakat has testimonies from a court in Ismailia who are looking into the jailbreak by Mohammed Morsi and 30 other Muslim Brotherhood leaders.  If this proves to be true, legally it can lead to showing proof of foreign intervention on Egyptian soil that leads to treason charges.  Morsi is now kept  in an unknown place, and no charges have been filed as yet.  Hamas is denying the allegation of January 29, 2011 jailbreak at the Wadi-el-Natrun prison NW of Cairo.

What our USA is finding fault with now is of the Egyptian military and interim government's arrests of Morsi's supporters.  The continued detentions are inconsistent with pledges of inclusivity made by authorities and may affect  future monies from the USA.  Ongoing arrests of the Muslim Brotherhood members are troubling to democracies.  The neighbor most affected and seriously watching is Israel.

Keeping Score on Muslim Adversaries

It's hard to keep up with what Muslim faction is either friendly or enemies with other Muslims.  One big player is the Muslim state of Iran who happens to follow the Shi'a -Jafari Muslim path. They happen to have the 6th largest Muslim population in the world with more than 98% of  their 76,923,300 people.

 Some people from Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria,  Azerbaijan Lebanon, Kuwait and Bahrain have players that are either Shi'a or Sunni.  The rest of the states follow the Sunni traditions. The state religion of Egypt's 90% of a population of 79,089,650, the 5th largest Muslim population in the world, are Sunni following the Shafi'i teachings.

President Morsi went to Iran in August of last year for a summit of the Non-Aligned Movement.  So it's news that Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad just came to Cairo, Egypt on a visit.  It's a first since the 1979 revolution,when Iran's secular Shah was replaced by the religious Ayatollah Khomeini.   Morsi and Ahmadinejad smiled, shook hands and kissed, probably because of Egypt electing a Muslim Brotherhood leader.   Ahmadinejad will meet today with the Grand Sheikh of the al-Azhar Mosque which is 1,000 years old,. one of the oldest seats of Islamic learning in the Sunni world.  Last month, Iran's foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi met the sheikh and stressed the importance of Muslim unity.

 Iran and Iraq had a war from September 22, 1980 to August 20, 1988 called the First Persian Gulf War,  so peace is not always the mode between Shi'a and Sunni Muslims.  They had some hot and heavy disputes over their borders. The attacker that time was Iraq.  Syria's ruler is not hesitant to kill its own people and neither has Iraq who gassed its Kurdish citizens on March 16, 1988 when they gassed and killed from 3,200 to 5,000 people and injured from 7,000 to 10,000.  They used bombs with chemicals.  .The idea of Iran being able to manufacture atomic weapons is making Saudi Arabia very nervous.  They are the 14th largest Sunni population with 27,601,038 people that follow Sunni's Hanbali teachings.  .  

For the past 30 years Israel and Egypt have been at peace which was started by Sadat.  Now, it looks like the only thing holding it together is the $1.3 billion in aid each year from the USA for the Egyptian military.  Morsi's government stands for wiping out Israel being that's the Muslim Brotherhood charter's goal.  They've established close ties with Hamas which is backed by Iran.  Hamas also shares that goal.  Egypt is lacking money, so that might be their first priority.

Ahmadinejad came to Cairo for Wednesday's Islamic summit.  Besides wanting to be the first astronaut in Iran, Ahmadinejad wants to visit the Gaza Strip to visit with the people on this trip.  Iran is backing Hamas financially and with weapons.   In November of last year Iran was preparing a shipment of missiles for Gaza at the same time a cease fire took place.  Sudan has been a transit site for Iranian arms to get to Gaza. They've been aiding and abetting terrorism.

One thing that bothers Egypt is Iran's support for President Bashar Assad of Syria.  An uprising that crushed the former President Mubarak and put Morsi into power is being crushed by Assad to the tune of killing 60,000 revolutionaries..  Though Egypt's revolt caused Morsi to be elected, the people are now having a change of heart and have been rebelling against him after just realizing what Sharia law is all about.  Christians are under attack.

Morsi's Egypt also maintains good relations with Gulf Arab states that supplement Cairo's finances and they are not that friendly with Iran.  Morsi also wants to remain friends with the USA in order to continue receiving their financial aid.

Hamas and Egypt have established close ties with each other that makes Iran happy but not the West as Hamas had been shooting rockets, mortars and missiles at southern Israel since 2006 and only recently stopped when Israel finally retaliated but good.  It would be a bad move if Egypt restores full relations with Iran now, the state that calls Israelis descendants of monkeys and pigs.  You can laugh off children's name calling of each other, but when a Muslim adult does it, you take their threats quite seriously.

Shi'a and Sunni are followers of different leaders.  Muhammad had a daughter, Fatima, but no son to take his place when he died, so the Shi'a are followers of his son-in-law who also happened to be his nephew.  Sunnis are followers of  Muhammad's good friend, Abu Bakr. "The fundamentals of the Islamic faith are agreed upon by all Muslims. These fundamentals include the belief in the oneness of God, the role of the Prophet Muhammad as his final messenger, prayer, the requirement to perform Hajj once in one's lifetime, and the requirement to give to charity."

Morsi's Religious Hatred Finally Criticized by White House

Wire reports have picked up facts known to all who follow world events on internet about the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.  Morsi had been the head of this illustrious organization and pushed for what it stands for, and that is antagonism against Jews and Israel.  Remember the old joke, "Hold the back page!  Hold the back page?"  Yiddish newspapers and Hebrew ones read from right to left.  Here we find the report in today's Oregonian in the back page where "WORLD" news  is always found.  In a segment 2" X 7" is the byline, MORSI CRITICIZED: including a colored picture of Morsi.  It made the news in other newspapers today as well.

Almost 3 years ago Morsi had made statements against Jews that were picked up by the press.  In a video from The New York Times, he had asked Egyptians to "nurse our children and our grandchildren on hatred."

In a TV interview, Morsi referred to Zionists as bloodsuckers who attack Palestinians.   He went on to describe Zionists as "the descendants of apes and pigs."

The White House spokesman, Jay Carney,  said that this language is deeply offensive.  No kidding!  He then said that they reject these statements as they do any language that espouses religious hatred.

The Obama administration said that Morsi should make clear that he respects members of all faiths.  Well, we know he doesn't from these statements!  How can a leopard change his spots?  Evidently this means that publicly he shouldn't say things like this if he wants the jet F-16 fighters.

The White House thinks that Egypt has democratic aspirations.  I think they have aspirations of changing over from a secular society that they had been under Sadat and Mubarak into a Sharia ruled society.  I agree with the White House that it would be in the best interest of the region if they were democratic, and this means holding the selection of a president under better conditions; not by threat and cheating.

So this 3 year old piece of information has finally made it to the Oregonian for readers of world events.  Morsi has been getting pretty large for his britches.  He's got to tone up  before he can get more of a handout from the USA, being the USA has to borrow money to hand some to him.  The least he can do is to shut up!  I realize that the only thing holding Egypt in check is the baksheesh the USA forks over to keep them in check.  Too bad it couldn't be for purely good reason to help Egypt to become a Democratic state like Israel, but that is dreaming for pie in the sky.  As long as hatred such as the Muslim Brotherhood rules with its hateful charter, there is no such chance.

Morsi says he will uphold the peace treaty with Israel, all the while calling us all apes and pigs.  It isn't a show of confidence in their word, is it?

Obama Administration on Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood Goals

"America’s fundamental inability to take religion and ideology seriously persists."  

Senator John Kerry, likely the next Secretary of State, stated confidently after meeting Morsi in Cairo in June, 2012 that the Egyptian president was “committed to protecting fundamental freedoms” and “said he understood the importance of Egypt’s post-revolutionary relationships with America and Israel.”

"The Obama administration has shown even more willingness than its predecessors to look the other way in the face of Brotherhood abuses of power—and of women and religious minorities—in pursuit of an “authentic” Egyptian democracy.  It has not taken the Brotherhood’s credo to heart: “Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law; the Prophet is our leader; jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.”   No wonder Obama selected Kerry as the possible Secretary of State.  

The Muslim Brotherhood was created in 1928 in Egypt and banned several times starting in 1948.  it supported the Egyptian Revolution in 1952 and tried to assassinate President Nasser.  By electing Morsi, it is now in power.  President Anwar Sadat, Israel's peace partner, was assassinated on October 7, 1981.   "The attackers would eventually come to be identified as Islamist nationalists associated with the Muslim Brotherhood under the name of Islamic Jihad.  Mubarak took over and carried out all previous peace programs.

"As a result of Sadat's assassination, the Muslim Brotherhood remained banned and the Camp David Accords were saved, along with Egypt's power elite. Vice President Mubarak, now President, completed Sadat's term and went on to lead Egypt for the next thirty years. Furthermore, had the Muslim Brotherhood assumed power back in 1981, it would have repudiated the Camp David Accords at once." Morsi won the so called election and put a very ill Mubarak in prison.

We all thought when Kerry  was running for President that he was pro-Israel.  Time tells a confusingly different story.
"At the Democratic Convention in 2012 Kerry ignored the decision of his party leadership to remove Jerusalem from their platform and instead opened his podium speech by attacking Romney for his “neo-con advisors” and then proceeded to quote Benjamin Netanyahu out of context."

We all know what Kerry meant when he said “neo-cons” – it is code speak for pro-Zionists. Kerry’s words show that he will be hostile to the very existence  of Israeli towns in the suburbs of Jerusalem. Democrats consider these “settlements” to be part of the “Occupied West Bank” and he will label them as such.  Such thinking is like a double-edged sword.  What does he not approve of;  Jerusalem suburbs or Zionists?  Obviously he hasn't checked with international lawyers such as Professor Eugene Kontorovich about Jerusalem.

President Obama does not seem to approve of Israel, especially with his tussle with Netanyahu over 1969 lines that was watched on TV,  and his choices reflect this  with Kerry and Hagel.  If Israel finds itself in a vise, we can look to our own Jewish population of which 69%  voted in this President.  Though Jews are only about 2% of the USA population, they are leaders.  J Street takes an opposing view compared with AIPAC as the  “pro-peace, pro-Israel” J Street lobby group and said Hagel “would be an outstanding choice” to head the Pentagon."  "(AIPAC), the most influential pro-Israel lobby group, has so far kept a discreet silence, although a former longstanding spokesman, Josh Block, who now heads The Israel Project, strongly denounced Hagel for his opposition to sanctions against Iran and his refusal to sign various letters and resolutions against Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas that were favoured, if not drafted, by AIPAC.

1967 Border Goal For Hamas: UN Declaring Statehood for Fatah

Hamas's goal is to get concessions from Israel.  They want to get as many as possible to achieve their goal found on their founding charter, which is to destroy Israel.  They want Israel to go back to the 1967 border, which Netanyahu has already explained in detail to Obama as to why Israel cannot and will not do that.

This is why Hamas has said that they will not stop arming themselves and want a strong arsenal.  They are not interested in negotiations.  These comments came from Hamas's #2 man, Moussa Abu Marzouk only 3 days after Israel agreed to a ceasefire.

Other demands are that Israel and Egypt lift all restrictions on the movement of goods and people in and out of the Palestinian territory.  They have been under a border blockade sine 2007 when these Hamas terrorists took over Gaza.  They have been eased since then but do not allow their economy to develop, they feel.  Considering that most Palestinians are on the dole from the UN, I don't see a surging economy developing anyway, considering people haven't worked at least since 1948.  That's about 4 generations of non workers.  What skills they had and could have been passed down have probably been lost.

Hamas is under the umbrella of the Muslim Brotherhood, whose charter also calls for Israel's destruction and the death of all Jews everywhere.  Just ask Qatar's Qaradawi.  His fatwa calls for just this.  Hamas now says that they are ready for a long-term cease-fire.  Usually this is when they stock up on provisions for the next go around.

In the meantime, his rival, President Mahmoud Abbas is intent on seeking UN recognition for a state of Palestine this week as a non-member state.  He wants approval of  Judea-Samaria (the West Bank renamed by Jordan), Gaza and EAST JERUSALEM as Palestine.  This would be a take-over without any discussion with Israel whose hands it is in.  These are areas belonging to Israel since the 1967 war.  Israel said it was willing to cede some land.  Israel has already moved 1/2 million Israelis into settlements on war-won land. Remember, Israel is sitting on only 20% of the originally promised Jewish Homeland as promised by the Brits who held the mandate.

What the Arab community wants to ignore is the fact that they all attacked Israel with greedy intent to destroy her.  With all their armies, they could not and they lost the battle they started.  With that in mind, these lands go to Israel.  Jews were living there as well and Jews are still living in Judea-Samaria.  Jerusalem is now one city and is the capital of Israel.  East Jerusalem receives   services from Israel just like the West, North and South of Jerusalem.  It is under much more favorable circumstances ever thought of by the Jordanians.

According to Abu Marzouk, Abbas is wasting his time. He said,   "Occupation needs resistance, not negotiations." His idea of resistance of course is War.   We keep giving away pieces of this for peace and get what in return?  Already Israel is one of the smallest states in the world.  It has 7,951.6 square miles and is almost as big as New Jersey. It would take 12 Israels to fit into Oregon.   Included in this figure is the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem.    Judea-Samaria has 2,270 sq miles.  East Jerusalem has 27 sq miles.   We have taken quite a chance with Morsi as the mediator, a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who even served time in prison for that under Mubarak.

Morsi Praying For Jewish Destruction: Follows Muslim Brotherhood Charter: Kidnapping Westerners Urged

Kill the Jews and kidnap Westerners.  That's the message that the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaida are now urging.  

We shouldn't be surprised at Morsi fervently praying and adding his Arabic "amen" with this group prayer for the destruction of all Jews.  After all, he was the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood whose charter calls for this.  Doesn't anyone pay attention?  At least Mubarak had Morsi jailed for his extremism in theology that called for killing and destruction of Jews.

This fact is verified by being viewed  on video on the Egyptian state TV with Morsi in a mosque in Marsa Matruh, Egypt on Friday, October 19th.  "Oh Allah, destroy the Jews and their supporters.  Oh Allah, disperse them, rend them asunder."  Rend, in the dictionary means "to remove from place by violence,  to tear, like hair and clothing as a sign of anger, grief, or despair, to lacerate with painful feelings, to pierce with sound, to divide as a nation into parties, to perform an act of tearing or splitting, to become torn or split."  Asunder means "torn into parts,.  Such a prayer for somebody who is the reason for receiving large amounts of money from the USA.  Notice the prayer goes for the supporters as well, which means the USA.

Al-Qaida and the Muslim Brotherhood are a union.  Al-Qaida is now urging its people to kidnap Westerners to exchange for imprisoned jihadists.  There is a blind cleric serving a life sentence in the USA for a 1993 plot to blow up NY city's landmarks.

There is a long 2 hour videotape that was posted last week on militant forums.  Ayman al-Zawahri, Egyptian jihadist, urged support for Syria's uprising.  He also called for the implementation of Islamic law in Egypt.  Egypt had been secular, but now with Morsi, it could happen.  I remember living in Israel from 19880-85 and watching Egyptian TV movies.  I really enjoyed them with their English subtitles.  I imagine all that will change with Morsi in charge.

Zawahri went on to encourage abducting nationals of "countries waging wars on Muslims" is the only way to free "our captives, and Sheik Omar Abdel- Rahman," the Egyptian cleric.  There it is.  We are at war with Muslims according to a high ranking Muslim.  According to him, this is the only language we understand.  "We will keep on seizing more....until we free our captives"

Two weeks ago he urged on an audio recording, holy war over that crazy horribly-made video making fun of Mohammad.  He also released a video on 9/11/ claiming that his warriors "defeated America in Iraq."

I guess they have a shortage of leaders and lots of followers, since they keep calling for the freeing of Abdel-Rahman.  A group even named themselves for him.  They claim responsibility for a June attack on the US consulate in Benghazi which caused no casualties.  Of course we all know that later on 9/11 of this year we had 4 Americans killed there which included our Ambassador Chris Stevens.

In Cairo, Egypt, Abdel-Rahman's relatives have had sit-ins next to the US Embassy for months.  Mohammed Morsi, who himself was recently released from prison just long enough to become the president of Egypt, vowed to push for his release.  He's doing it.

What's the difference between the Muslim Brotherhood that Obama embraced as moderates and al-Qaeda?  Not much.  The Brotherhood's main goal has been to develop Muslim infrastructure everywhere and supports terror and jihad. Their charter calls for the murder of all Jews.   They have a charter that spells it out and have been becoming increasingly violent.  The Brotherhood has managed the pretense of moderation, but as early as 2007 let it be known they were not for Western values.  They are all for Sharia law.  Al Qaeda is all for jihad.  They support attacking, kidnapping, you name it.

Next time America clamors for other countries to go Democratic, I hope they look at what the alternatives in that county could be.  There's got to be a better way.  I think we all have gone from the frying pan into the fire.

Morsi Taking Power From Egypt's Military

President Morsi, President of Egypt by running on the Muslim Brotherhood ticket, has now consolidated almost every part of government power for himself and has complete control  .

He will now oversee the military and legislative functions of Egypt.   Supposedly he has left the judiciary part alone.  He has final say over the constitution.  the Parliament will not be reinstated.  It was dissolved in June when the court ruled that the elections of some of its members were unconstitutional.

This has taken away the military's power to govern Egypt, who held the power for the past 60 years in some way or other.

He just picked an Islamist as the minister of defense, which means that he belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood party, the group outlawed by Sadat and Mubarak.  Egypt up till 18 months ago when Mubarak was toppled was pretty much secular and being helped financially by the USA.  They had a peace pact with Israel.

He is General Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, 57 years old and they call him a moderate.  He had been the "head of military intelligence and defended the testing of the virginity of women who'd been detained as a means of ensuring that soldiers aren't accused of rape."  Note that this was to protect soldiers, not the women attacked.

As far as Israel is concerned, they should be concerned and I'm sure they are.  "The Brotherhood refuses to commit to continuing the Israel-Egypt peace treaty.  Muslim Brotherhood leaders have said that “as far as the movement is concerned, Israel is a Zionist entity occupying holy Arab and Islamic lands...and we will get rid of it no matter how long it takes.” —Former Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Muhammed Mahdi Akef, 2005 and 2007.  

Then again they do like American money.  If they break the peace treaty, they might lose this source of income.  It's a conundrum.  Which will win out?  Religion or finances.  Already there have been terrorists in the Sinai desert.  The USA is actually going to send troops to help Egypt with them.  "Washington welcomes new Egyptian army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, who spent time in U.S. • Hamas says Morsi is hurting Gaza in the same way Mubarak did."  Of course they'd say that.  The terrorists most likely are Hamas or friends of Hamas.  The Sinai is being turned into a terrorist center.

Why President Morsi of Egypt Can Be Dangerous for Israel

The motto of the Muslim Brotherhood is:

Allah is our objective

The Prophet is our leader

The Qur'an (Koran) is our law

Jihad is our way

Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope

This is the party that just got Morsi elected President in Egypt.  Egypt is probably going to change, and not for the better, despite the nice promises he has made to be so moderate.  A lot depends on how much he will keep promises, and as a politician, that is a slippery slope.  It's more important to look into his belief system and his past deeds.    Already he has announced that he is reconsidering Egypt's former peace deal with Israel.  He intends to build ties with Iran to create a strategic balance in the Middle East.

"According to the Anti-Defamation League, several former Brotherhood officials from the organization's 15-member Guidance Council assumed key roles within the new party, and used their positions in the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) of which the now President Morsi was head of  to reiterate the Brotherhood's long-standing hostility toward Zionism and support for other organizations that oppose Zionism"


The Muslim Brotherhood is dangerous for Israel because the terrorist organization, Hamas, is an offshoot of it and is carrying out the doctrine of both.  Hamas means:
 the Islamic Resistance Movement.  It was started in 1987 in the First Intifada.  Their goals are:

To raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine.
They will not recognize Israel
They believe that all of Israel belongs to the Palestinian people.
They call for the destruction of Israel.
There will be no peaceful negotiations
Jihad means to attack others to get what they want, and they won't mind dying to in order to get what they want, in fact they get extra credit it if they do.   If so, they'll be rewarded in heaven with their 72 virgins.   A jihad is a holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty; a crusade for a principle or belief. 
They are the ones who are constantly shelling southern Israel with mortars, missiles and rockets which go on to this very day. 

"The Egyptian cleric Safwat Higazi spoke at the announcement rally May 1, 2012  for the Muslim Brotherhood's candidate Morsi and expressed his hope and belief that Morsi would liberate Gaza, restore the Caliphate of the "United States of the Arabs" with Jerusalem as its capital, and that "our cry shall be: 'Millions of martyrs march towards Jerusalem."


The Brotherhood was much noticed after President Obama made his famous Cairo speech at al-Azhar University in Cairo in 2009 where he was not being particularly nice about Israel.  In his speech he goes along with the prevailing Washington idea of the two state solution where Israel could not continue to  build anything, and praises the  Muslims for their  outstanding accomplishments.   He was showing a huge outreach to the Muslim world in this speech.  Egypt has a population of more than 79,089,650 people of which 90% are Sunni Muslims with Coptic Christians in the wee minority.  Islam is a state religion.  They have a large militry power of active troops numbering about 450,000.  It's the 5th largest majority Muslim population in the world  with Obama's Indonesia  with 228,582,000 population being first.

After this Cairo speech,  by  February 2011 the Brotherhood dominated the Egyptian parliamentary elections.  In April  Secretary of State Clinton ordered the transfer of $1.5 billion in a lump sum with no strings attached in a grant to Egypt.  It's labeled for peace and security.  Egypt has been accepting money from the USA each year.  In 2006 they got $1.8 billion.

Peres in Israel feels that Egypt must remember their economic situation and will have to consider their economy in order to exist.

Morsi Plans to take Jerusalem Now

Now that the Muslim Brotherhood's contender, Morsi, won the Presidential election in Egypt, a cleric, Satwat Higazi, who was the campaign manager for Morsi, had announced that Jerusalem would become their capital.  Like so many campaign promises, that's not going to happen.  That gives us an idea as to how much of the peace plan they intend to keep, doesn't it?  The question will be now how much money will the United States keep giving them?

Mohammed Morsi won by 51.7% of the votes beating out Shafik.  This was the 1st election that Egypt has had since Mubarak.  There were rumors that Morsi's side was stuffing the ballot box.  Perhaps that's why they went into overtime to count the ballots.  .

I am reminded of " The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace" from Psalms 29:11.  We certainly will need that strength now in striving for peace.  Our neighbors are certainly not of that mind-set.  Morsi has already called for a review of the peace treaty with Israel.  The military says they will decide just what he can do to the government.  He is not from the military which other leaders have been.  Morsi promises to be a moderate but modern leader with an Islamist agenda who will have a transparent government.  He promises to have an Egyptian renaissance with an Islamic foundation.  This man is intent on having Sharia law in the country for sure.  Sharia law does not favor Israel in any way.  

The United States congratulated their milestone victory.  Morsi did go from being involved in an outlawed group calling for terrorism if you look at the doctrine of the Muslim Brotherhood which  was not allowed during Mubarak's time or Sadat's.  Morsi went from being a prisoner to a president in very few steps, swept in with the Arab Spring.
