                            Hamas is a terrorist organization..  Palestine is to have no Jews in it, just like Saudi Arabia.

Evidently the USA in no longer regarding the Oslo Accords as having any merit, for they are allowing the Palestinians, in planning their Palestine, to have a terrorist led government.  Area A was to be exclusively Arab, no Jews.  Area B was to be all Arab.  Area C was to have "full Israeli civil and security control" and the plan was for Israel to withdraw from 13% of it, but they only were able to withdraw from 2% and the actions of the Arabs caused them to perform Operation Defensive Shield, meaning the Arabs had attacked more than could be tolerated which showed no peaceful intent.  Hamas really brought this on themselves.  Israel retains 61% of Judea-Samaria.  The Palestinians also have Gaza as part of their state which has 141 square miles.  

Area C in Judea-Samaria, scene of Israel's ancient history of Israel and Judah found in the Bible ,  is now threatened by the USA being first to recognize an unsettled Palestine with a Fatah-Hamas government patterned after Lebanon's that will not have any Jews living in it.  Area C was allowed to have Jews in the Oslo Accords.  It amounts to 375,000 Jews who live there as of  2013, probably a few more today.  The city of Ariel is the capital of  this Judea-Samaria district. The 3 other cities are Betar Illit, Ma'ale Adumim and Modi'in Illit that house Jews.   When the Assyrians attacked Israel in 720 BCE, the northern Kingdom fell and was renamed Shomron (Samaria).  Judah was created after King Solomon had died in 920 BCE and his son, Rehoboam,  became king.  At the time of 722 BCE, Ahaz was king.  The area of the Judea and Samaria district covers only 2,270 square miles which is but a portion of the ancient lands of Judah and Samaria.

"In July 2012, a government-commissioned report by the Levy committee asserted, based on a number of reasons, that there is no legal basis under international law to refer to Judea and Samaria as "occupied territory". Article 43 of the Fourth Hague Convention of 1907 is the basis of the Levy Committee's opinion. Its opinion may be found on the Internet with an English translation"  "The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law,"  They call them "occupied territories."  Israel calls them "disputed territories."  

Obama  just settled the dispute by recognizing them as  Palestine, state for the "Palestinian" Arabs, recent immigrants who left their homes at the creation of Israel and instead of returning when the fighting was over, remained in refugee camps where most remain today, taken care of by the UN.  

Israel was willing to go along with a 2-state solution, not wanting to change the nature of Israel as a Zionist state, refuge for Jews who were suffering from anti-Semitism, but can't accept a terrorist state bent on their destruction.  Kerry didn't manage to change their minds about that, which was understood being they refuse to change their charter of Hamas nor their goal to destroy Israel lying in their hearts.

There must be an international law that a state cannot be created that has a terrorist government intent on destroying its neighbor.  This is what the UN was created for, to keep such things from happening.  The UN is not living up to its original charter.  It's not all over yet.  So far the USA was the first to recognize this state and we haven't heard from the Western states as yet.  

First off, the PA violated the Oslo Accords by taking unilateral action and applying for membership in 15 different international organization for statehood.  This went against the peace process and caused the halt to it, yet Kerry blames Israel.   To top that off, the USA has hurried to be the first country to recognize a state of Palestine, a Palestine that will have a ruling government of Hamas terrorists just like Lebanon's Hezbollah government plan.  

Israeli MK Bennett came up with an idea that Israel should have sovereignty over Area C of Judea and Samaria back in 2010, but the USA crushed that idea quickly.  Now, with the threat of having an honest to goodness terrorist state in their back yard, Netanyahu has to come up with a plan B as to what to do.  He threw out the idea of the need to separate from the Palestinians, which is going to be some trick being they are so close.  They did this once in Gaza and it was a complete mistake.  A poll was taken and 60% of Jews opposed a unilateral withdrawal from the area.  20% of Israel's citizens are Arabs and 2/3 of them support withdrawal.  

What is the USA suggesting now that they have  started the wartime atmosphere, something not expected in a peace process?  They have the wait and see attitude like they had with Syria and Ukraine.  Before recognizing Palestine they failed to get any written guarantees about peaceful behaviors from the Palestinians who are still dropping rockets on southern Israel.  In fact it just happened today again and a rocket was shot into southern Israel, the 108th since the first of 2014.  .  Now, Israel can expect more terrorism to come from Judea and Samaria on the east side as well and continued shelling from the west from Gaza.  Well, they said that they'll be watching all of that very carefully to ensure that that doesn't happen.  Watching doesn't stop anything.  It's been going on since 2001 from Gaza already and I haven't seen anyone try to stop the terrorists except Israel.  So now they'll do the same thing and watch some more.  USA is not about to get involved.  They'll following the adage, "We don't mix in."  

 Isn't this all prophesied in the Bible?  Some great big blowout is expected to happen against Israel.  I think John Kerry and Obama are not wasting any time getting the bombfire lit.

Some Facts About "Occupation"; The Subject That Norway Holds As Reason to Support Terrorists

Here are some facts that most people are not aware of in their zeal to discredit Israel as being those "terrible occupiers" of Palestinian Land."

Lets start with the fact that Canaan, or Eretz (land of)  Canaan, as the Jews called it originally, almost 4,000 years ago, was named Israel as it was the Israelites who entered and took it and then later the land was Israel and Judea.  These were Jewish states.  Israel was created first with King Saul in the 11th century BCE, then King David and  King Solomon.  When Solomon died in 920 BCE, the Jews divided up as if they were Republicans and Democrats and created Judea  with the southern half with the remainder of the tribe of Judah which included Jerusalem.  They were the more religious of the two by then.   There was never a country or state called Palestine.  It was the Romans who simply renamed the land as "Palestine, out of nastiness in order to minimize the Jewish association with it, which they then called it Palestine Syria."  After 70 CE it was no-man's land except for the remaining Jews that lived there as well as nomadic Arabs that wandered through on their way to better places.

True, our case rests on land held 4,000 years ago, but no one has really wanted it or lived there besides Jews who hadn't left and some nomadic Arabs wandering through.  The few Arab landowners lived elsewhere, not in the swamp and desert, and weed-filled barren land it had become from neglect after 70 CE.  Many rulers have held title, but none lived there.  It was only after many  Jews returned in the 1880's CE as pioneers fleeing from pogroms that Arabs tagged along to get jobs from them. If Arabs wanted their own state, which the British assumed that they would, wouldn't they also have accepted their offer in 1948?    No, their goal was just to oust the returned Jews.

By 1948 CE we find Egypt occupying Gaza and Jordan occupying Judea and Samaria, the original Jewish land.  Jews had congregated in Western Palestine and had built Tel Aviv and other cities along the coast.  That's one reason why England gave away 80% of the Jewish Homeland after WWI to Transjordan.  Yes, the Jewish Homeland had included Jordan's site as well.  Take out your Old Testament and read about the land G-d had allotted to Moses and the freed slaves.  It's there in detail.

Palestinian terrorism began before any occupation in 1929 when the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem ordered terrorist attacks against Jewish residents of Hebron.  The Jews had lived there since Abraham bought a cave to bury Sarah.  Hebron, because of that, is a Jewish holy city and has been for generations.  Today it's taken over by the Arabs.

After 1967's war whereupon the Arab countries attacked Israel in the attempt to drive her into the sea and destroy her, Israel, with guts, determination and the will of G-d won, defying all odds.  That's when she inherited Gaza and Judea-Samaria and they became "occupied" by her. Did Israel attack these places to take them to occupy?  Indeed not.  It had enough problems to deal with.  This was almost the straw that broke the camel's  back.  However, it did allow Jews to go to the sacred Western Wall for the first time in Jerusalem since before 1948 to pray, which the soldiers all did.  Now Jerusalem, Israel's capital, is a unified city. It was our capital between 1,000 BCE and 586 BCE and again between 516 BCE to 70 CE.   I must say thanks to Ha Shem (G-d) , who works in wondrous ways.  Had the Arab countries not attacked in 1967, this would not have happened.  "The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel...to face the challenge, while standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan and the whole Arab nation." So said the King of Jordan.   It was over in 6 days.

Terrorism grew worse after Israel ended its occupation of southern Lebanon and Gaza around 2005.  These unoccupied lands  became launching pads for rockets and missiles and mortars and the Palestinians started kidnapping soldiers.

No matter how kind Israelis reacted to Palestinians and no matter how many good programs they set up to help them attain a normalized life, the Palestinians had a set mind of attack and kill, shown by voting in Hamas, terrorists and ousting Fatah's Abbas-Yasser Arafat's replacement.

Islamic terrorists have sworn to continue terrorism even if Israel were to end its occupation of the Judea-Samaria area , and Israel has about 3/4 of the way already by allowing the PA to govern themselves.  Israel just keeps minimum rights there for their own security.  The sad fact is that Terrorists regard all of Israel as occupied.  They do not recognize the UN decision of their legal statehood of May 14, 1948.  If there were no Israel, terrorism would continue as long as any part of the world is not under Islamic control.  Just check out and see where Shaaria law is to supersede USA law lately.  It's already happening.

Countries have occupied others in the past.  For instance, the Tibetans have never resorted to terrorism against innocent Chinese civilians, though they have never been offered independence, and their occupation has been longer and more brutal than anything experienced by the Palestinians.  From 1911 to 1949 Tibet was an independent country till the Chinese invasion and occupation.  The difference is in the temperament between Tibetans and Palestinians, of course, helped along  by their different religious goals in life.   After WWI England occupied "Palestine" which had been part of the holdings of the Ottoman Empire.  France occupied Syria and Lebanon.  The British were terrible towards the Jews but allowed Arabs into the country illegally.  Britain also occupied India since the 1800's  and other places, but they've never been occupied, themselves.

The United States "occupied" Germany and Japan after WWII.  How would Americans like it if they continued to attack the USA from there or other areas closer.  Israel is in a far more precarious position of having Gaza and Judea-Samaria on the left and right borders of tiny Israel.

Occupation doesn't cause terrorism unless the occupiers are very cruel, and Israel has bent over backwards to help the Palestinians but were "slapped in the face" for doing so.  After all, Israel was occupied by the Romans in the first century and suffered greatly from it.  These Arabs were treated terribly by their Arab occupiers and Israel mistakenly thought they were actually freeing them.

Terrorism causes occupation and the measures taken to bring safety to the citizens.  Israel would have left Gaza and much of Judea and Samaria if not for the fear of terrorism from those areas.  Would Israel have gone into southern Lebanon in 1982 if it had not become a base for terrorism?  No.  Israel had to repeat this again in 2006 to stop rocket attacks and retrieve kidnapped soldiers out of Lebanon.

The international community did nothing to protect Israeli citizens from cross-border rocket attacks, kidnappings and suicide bombers.  If occupation is the only resource for Israel for protection, they may need to do it.  Israel has given land for peace, while the Palestinians have ventured nothing but more attacks.  Israel will not give land again which will be used for terrorism.

Israel left Gaza after a 2 day occupation in July 2006 and what happened?  A rocket from there hit an Israeli kindergarten causing children to go to the hospital.  Israel had left leaflets when they departed warning of dire consequences if rockets were fired again.  Our enemy feels that their deaths are worth the trouble if they can kill Israelis.  They put Arab mothers on pedestals who have given many sons to the cause.   Where we toast a l'chaim to life, they must be praying for death where they will be rewarded.

People who are notorious for not having human rights in their countries are Syria, Zimbabwe, China, Venezuela, Cuba, Cambodia and the former Soviet Union.  They always blame everything on their revolutions.  Islam has allowed extremists to bubble up in their religion such as Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other groups.  They are oppressors of women, gays, racial minorities, religious dissidents and real human rights advocates.  Saudi women can only ride a motorcycle while covered completely and if accompanied by a male family member in designated areas. This wouldn't be so terrible but their counties can get up to 130 degrees F.   They torture and murder civilians, use human shields in their zeal to attack Israel with propaganda.  That's probably how they conducted their past year's voting in of Hamas once again.  How is it that all these groups come down on Israel and every other country is following suit?  Can they not see the Pied Piper of Hamelin through the haze?  They're following the wrong ideals!  There are Muslim states such as Syria that follow Iran who advocates nuclear proliferation and  environmental destruction.  There are 49 Muslim majority states, so there are others as well.

Jews are extremely  sensitive in calling to attention the bad points about Islam as they have put up with people doing this to them for the past 2,000 years.  But I must point out that the Muslims were on the side of the Nazis in WWII so are also a political group as well as a religious one, even going to Hitler in Germany and were so desirous of seeing Jews destroyed that they are still reading Nazi literature for their recreational time.  It amazes me since they are also Semites, but they see a great distinction.

Yet we have weak-minded professors from Columbia U. that planned to travel to Iran to apologize to Ahmadinejad   for Columbia U.'s president Lee Bollinger who gave a critical introduction of him on September 24, 2008.  .  It's like apologizing to Hitler, and I imagine we have Americans today that would have done just that back in 1939.  Ahmadinejad, who must be the #1 worst person in the world today,  is a bigoted tyrant who has incited genocide and whose government has murdered innocent Jewish children, women and other civilians in Argentina.  It is his country who wants to wipe Israel off the map with an atomic bomb and right after that dump a few on the USA as well for good measure. It is he who is helping Assad's regime in Syria who have killed over 60,000 people already.  This past week alone they killed 6,000 or better.

In our letters to the editor of the Oregonian of March 30th were 2 letters complaining that Israel was now calling the shots to attack Iran's nuclear facilities because Obama promised that he had Israel's back.  They didn't like allowing Israel to call the timing of this should it ever happen.  It is a huge responsibility to protect one's own land from harm.  If irrational Iran  cannot be stopped by all that Obama is doing, there is only one alternative left before being incinerated, folks, and this includes the USA in the wake of all this as well. Israel is not suffering from paranoia as it's not an imagined fear.

 Iran has announced publicly over and over of their sense of purpose in destroying Israel.  You must be a student of Islam to understand that they don't make rash threats.  They first warn, and then they do the deed.  Even some Arabs such as the Saudis are counting on the Israelis to stop Iran for they're in dire danger as well.  It wasn't too long ago that Iran fought Iraq, a Sunni state against a Shi'a state.  Christians have had their Catholic-Protestant battles and the Islamists have this difference that makes them fighting mad. To allow a 4th religion in the area is beyond their comprehension.   Look at what's happened to the Christians in Egypt lately.

Israel isn't occupying Gaza at all.  That's why the Palestinian Arabs have shot at southern Israel citizens. They try to  make sure that weapons do not get to them since they use them all against Israel, though.  Wouldn't you?   So tell me, what's all the to-do about "occupation" being the reason that people have been supplying terrorists with finances to continue with?

Is Al Gore the Icon of the Democratic Party? Selling Out to Al Jazeera

Al Gore, former Democrat backed Vice President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, owned a TV station, Current TV. Talk about the Republicans out to make money with big investments, Al just made a huge bundle of $500 million by selling out to a foreign Arab company, Al Jazeera, whose Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani,  bought it with his oil revenue.  His Current TV was extremely leftist, which is pretty much the way the Democrat Party has gone and must have been a reflection of his own philosophy.   Now," Al Jazeera tends to ascribe the worst imperialist motives to any U.S. foreign policy move." Qatar will be able to  break into American media markets with news from an Arab point of view. We all realize what that is; Israel is the evil empire that must be squashed.  I was having fits that Al Jazeera could broadcast into universities and colleges already where anti-Israel activities already have been taking place, but now?  The whole United states can be brainwashed.

Glen Beck, who is on the right of politics, offered to buy Current TV at Gore's price, but he turned it down.  No, he'd rather go with a foreigner who advocates the fall of Israel with the USA right after them.  After all, from October 2009 to January 2010, the Qatar Foundation began PR campaigning on both the Al-Jazeera Arabic and English channels to promote itself.  These commercials were also airing on CNN.  He must have been swayed.  Financially, he did quite well for having bought Current TV for $71 million in 2004.  I wonder  what his profit was for inventing Internet?

While serving with President Bill Clinton, I see that Bill's wife, Hillary Clinton, who just resigned from being our Secretary of State, participated in an official Al-Jazeera town hall interview at the Carnegie Mellon University branch campus in Qatar's Education City.  She was introduced by Sheikh Abdallah Al-Thani, who praised the 6 American universities based there.  So there is a close connection already to Qatar and their philosophy.  The heads of state in Qatar are mostly all related to each other.

And who is a regular on Al Jazeera TV?  Why, Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi:  the favorite one and only theologian and best friend of the Emir; known as the theologian of Terror.  He just happens to be the radical Muslim Brotherhood ideologue who  was kicked out of Egypt in the days of Morsi and found a haven from the Emir of Qatar.  Through his speeches and writings, he shows consistent support of terrorist groups that have undermined a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Qaradawi has expressed his desire to see a "conquered" Jerusalem  in his January 24, 2011 fatwa.  In it he said that Jews had no connection to this city and that it was the duty of Muslims to "defend" Jerusalem with their lives, money and all they possess or else they would be subject to Allah's punishment."  He of course refuses to dialogue with Jews and endorses Palestinian suicide bombings against Israeli civilians.  He would like to kill Jews with his bare hands, he has said, even though he is in a wheel chair.  Qaradawi has also given support for targeting American forces and civilians in Iraq, and has been banned from entering the USA since 1999 for his extremist views.  Even Britain kept him out in February 2008 when he was denied a visa to enter for medical treatment.  This man, born in 1926 in Egypt, is pure evil.

The Al Jazeera TV show, "Shariah and Life"  is his media empire for spreading  hatred by supporting terror. An April 2004 show, credited Allah with providing Palestinians  "human bombs" instead of the planes, missiles and weapons that Zionists have.  (Note: no regard for human life.)    He has a worldwide following through this TV and the use of Internet.  He is the spiritual guide for the Islamist movement of the Muslim Brotherhood, even though he has declined the head position of General Guide.  He also airs on this TV station his Friday sermons at the Umar bin al-Khattab mosque, which is a government-sponsored mosque in Doha.  In a 2005 sermon, he spoke about notable Hamas leaders killed by Israel.  He said of the terrorists that their fate was paradise and that they died martyrs.  He went on to say that they met the death that every Muslim wishes for himself, which is martyrdom in the cause of God.

Qaradawi's influence reaches into the USA as well as in Qatar.  In the USA he is the chairman (in abstenia) of the Michigan-based Islamic American University (IAU), a subsidiary of the Muslim American society (MAS).  He's also listed as a faculty member.  Despite being banned from coming into the USA, his messages still reach the American public via satellite TV and the internet, and now it will be even easier to do so being  Al Jazeera owns a company here in America.

"While Al Jazeera’s English network, started in 2006, reaches 250 million households in 130 countries, the U.S. represents only a small fraction of that audience. Al Jazeera said it will replace Current TV’s shows with its own this year."  Of Course they will.  They have their own agenda.

2012 Dangerous for Israelis Abroad

From 1920, 1930 and on into the 1940's  Jews in Palestine endured Arab terrorism of the the following cities and areas of the Jewish population: The first two suffered annihilation.
1. Hebron
2. Gush Etzion
3. Gaza
4. East Jerusalem
5. Tel Aviv
6. Galilee
7 Itamar, Judea, near Nablus,  March 12, 2011 when a whole Jewish family was slaughtered as they slept; parents and children, one of which was 3 months old.

In 2012 Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency)  reports that they have stopped 100 attacks in Israel.  They arrested 2,300 suspects out of which had 2,170 indictments.  Most were planned roadside bombs and small- arms. fire.  "Despite the lack of deaths, there was an increase in the number of attacks in Judea and Samaria, from 320 in 2011 to 578 in 2012. The number of Molotov cocktail attacks in Judea and Samaria in 2012 rose 68 percent, compared to the previous year."

The latest reports find that though Israeli have not been murdered in terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria in 2012,  the rest of Israelis and Jews everywhere are possible targets for terrorists.

When you are abroad, there is less protection that one has in Israel.  So far, there have been 3 major attacks.  Many  terrorists were arrested abroad while in the planning stages for attacks against Israelis.

1. Burgas, Bulgaria  on July 19, 2012 had a bus bombing where 5 Israelis and one Bulgarian were murdered.
2. New Delhi, India on February 13, 2012  had a car bombing in which a diplomat's wife was wounded.
3. Toulouse, France on March 19, 2012 where Otzar Hatorah School's rabbi and 3 children were murdered by Mohammed Merah in 2012 using a .45 calibre gun.
4. Tbilisi, Georgia also on February 13, 2012 had an attempted bombing targeting an embassy employee.
5. Bangkok, Thailand had an arrest of a Hizbullah terrorist, part of a cell plotting  for February 12, 2012 a mass attack on Israeli tourists.
6. Limassol, Cyprus, on October 18, 2012 had an arrest of another Hizbullah terrorist who was gathering information on tourist sites, ships and airplanes used by Israelis, ready to bomb cruise ships.  
7. Kenya, Africa, on July 2, 2012 had the arrest of 2 Iranian Revolutionary Guards terrorists for planning attacks on Israelis, USA, Saudi  and British  targets in the country.

Shin Bet in Jerusalem believes the February 13th bombings were caused by Iran.

Guess Who The White House Invited Over For a Chat: A Terrorist

Seems as if our president wants to know the new Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsi  a little better, so has invited some of his retinue to the White House for a chat in September.  This included Hani Nour Eldin, new member of the Egyptian parliament who was part of a delegation of Egyptian parliamentarians.  Eldin was hosted as part of a cross-section of Egyptians seeking to peacefully shape Egypt's future.  

The problem is that Eldin has been a member of a banned Egyptian militant group, a foreign terrorist organization called Gama'a al-Islamiya.   Congress was not told that the USA would give him a visa to visit first, and yet Homeland Security went ahead and saw to it that he could enter and assured the country that Eldin was no security threat.  Evidently this broke a federal law in order to host Eldin in Washington.  Protocal was not followed in this case, which is a little unnerving.  The law says that it is a felony to assist members of specially designated terrorist organizations.  So our very law-makers get to break the very law they made.

The biggest problem as I see it in hosting Eldin is how the terrorists can take it.  They evidently will see their terrorism as pride and the cause of their attaining recognition from the White House.  It gives them power.  They will think that the White House is kow-towing to them and that force is what it takes to get their way.

The Egyptian president himself is a little unnerving as well, but our President means to change that.  Obama has stated that Morsi is a moderate, but how can he think this when he is the candidate for the Muslim Brotherhood?   One only has to read their charter to see what their goals are.  They have not been friendly towards the United States, or even to Egypt, for that matter.  They had been outlawed by Sadat, the Egyptian president who was later assassinated by them in 1981.

Morsi is friends with Omar Abed-Rahman, known as the "blind sheikh, who is the  leader of Gama'a al-Islamiya-the Islamic Group,  and would probably like to include him in his new government.  His group  murdered Rabbi Meir Kahane in New York in 1990.  He was the well-known jihadist in New Jersey who masterminded the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.  His group was also the planners of the November 1997 Luxor massacre where 58 tourists and 4 Egyptians were killed.  Rahman and his group plotted the assassination of Mubarak when he was actively the president of Egypt.  It was also found that this very group intended to bomb New York landmarks including the Lincoln and Holland tunnels and the UN headquarters.  


Rahman put out the fatwa allowing Sadat to be murdered because he had signed the peace treaty with Israel.  The group is listed by the State Department as a specially designated terrorist organization.  He was convicted for the 1993 bombing and angry enough about it to issue another fatwa calling for jihad against the US.  After 9/11's attacks, Osama bin Laden cited Rahman's fatwa as the religious justification for his actions.  


Morsi, the new Egyptian president called for Rahman's release.  What his reasoning could have been must have been a beaut.  He called for this during his inauguration ceremony,  which shows that he was more interested in winning than in being friends with the USA.  Not to worry, though.  Obama will change all that.  However, Rahman is in a North Carolina prison for seditious conspiracy.  Actually, he's in the Butner Medical Center section which is a part of this federal prison.

Morsi is not a friend of Jews or of Israel.  Mohammed Morsi told supporters earlier this year at a campaign event, “Our capital shall not be Cairo, Mecca or Medina. It shall be Jerusalem!”

Norwegians, Swedes and Why Their Attitudes Have Worsened Toward Jews

My maternal grandmother, Augusta Johansson-Gustafson, was born in Sweden in 1870 and came to the states when she was 18 years old in 1888.  She always said, "Oh, those Norwegians!".    I never knew why she didn't respect them.  Now our family has members from both countries.  We follow our father's religion, Judaism,  and it's discouraging to see the change in attitude in these two countries from the time of World War II.
Norway
Before the 19th Century, Jews couldn't even enter Norway without a "Letter of Protection," because the Danish limited the amount of Jews entering the country.  In 1840 this changed when a poet, Henrik Wergelang, argued for Jews to be allowed to enter and got the Parliament to agree.  650 Jews were admitted by 1891 when emancipation took place.  They lived in Oslo and Trondheim.  By 1920 there was a whopping 1,456 Jews in Norway.  In 1940 Norway was invaded by Germany and found 1,800 Jews living there with all but 200 being Norwegian citizens.

Norway's army surrendered and they had a collaborationist government led by Vidkun Quisling.  The Nazis demanded anti-Jewish laws which were implemented quickly so that by 1942, 770 Jews were sent to Nazi concentration camps.  760 were killed in death camps, but the underground had smuggling out 930 Jews across to the Swedish border. After the war, 800 Jews had survived and they, with displaced persons, were invited back by the Norwegian government. By 1996 Norway thought about restitution of Jewish property that had been confiscated by the Quisling regime.

Today there is one rabbi in all of Norway who is at the synagogue in Oslo.  Norway doesn't allow the koshering of meat, so it is imported from Denmark.  There is a 2nd synagogue in Trondheim and is the most northern synagogue in the world.  I have met online a Norwegian Jewish girl whose family didn't know they were Jewish.  She wound up going to Israel to find out about her religion more.  It was a result of the family escaping from the Holocaust and winding up in Norway.

Today there is a lot of anti-Semitism going on in Norway.  Their Center Party just proposed a law against male circumcision, a Jewish practice for baby boys at the age of 8 days.  If this law passes, they will be the first country to do so.  Just such a proposal was made in San Francisco, California recently  and was not passed.  In 1814 Norway had "The Jewish Clause" in their constitution which excluded Jews from the country.  This had gone on till it was repealed in 1851.


 The country has also taken in many Muslims, and wherever both groups reside causes lots of sparking hatred. Most of the anti-Semitic acts going on are committed by Muslims.  Muslim children are taught this hatred and it's showing up in the schools.  In 2009, 39 % of primary-school students in Oslo came from  immigrant families.   The latest event is about bullying a Jewish boy in school for the past several years which has resulted in his tormentors burning him on the neck with a burning-hot coin at an Oslo secondary school barbeque.  Why?  The boy's father is an Israeli, and this ticked off the students in their hatred for our tiny country.

 Though the country declares that they have a zero tolerance for bullying, nothing was done about this incident. Other Jewish students have been assaulted in their schools and teachers are known to just look the other way.  Their media plays a major role in reinforcing anti-Semitism.  For example only one media in Norway reported the burned student, and that was a Christian, Israel-friendly daily newspaper.  The political left shows a hatred for Jews.
Sweden
Jews living in Sweden are descendants of World War II refugees and Holocaust survivors who came after the war.  They also have Jewish refugees who fled Hungary in 1956 and others who left Poland in 1968.  Recently, Jews went there from the former Soviet Union instead of immigrating to Israel.  Stockholm has 3 synagogues and 2 rabbis.  One synagogue was built in 1870.  Gothenburg and Malmo also have a synagogue.  Here also, kosher meat must be imported from Denmark which is bought in Stockholm and Malmo.

Malmo has recently had an influx of Muslims, and the city has become a hotbed of attacks on Jews. There are only 760 Jews but 45,000 Muslims of Palestinian, Iraqi, Somali and even Yugoslavian heritage in this city of 293,900.   It has become so bad that many of these  Jews have had to move out of the city as they feared for their life.  Marcus Eilenberg, 32 year old attorney is taking his family and moving to Israel now.  The mayor is siding with the new population and has done nothing to stop the situation.  It really is a disgrace.  I even attempted to write some comments in an English newspaper online and was horrified by what people were saying and believing.

Both countries have their cultural elite whose attitude towards the Muslim influx seems to be that when their leaders rant against Israel and the Jews, their response is to join them in their rantings, calling this "solidarity."

CUFI Presents Erick Stakelbeck at Portland State U.

Erick Stakelbeck spoke at Portland State U. in the Smith Ballroom tonight on current events in the Middle East, presented by Christians United For Israel (CUFI).   He covered the threat of extreme Islam in the USA and in regards to Israel.   He just happens to be an authority on terrorism and on our USA security issues with extensive experience in TV, radio, print and digital media.  That comes from being a correspondent and terrorism analyst for CBN News and host of their weekly program, Stakelbeck on Terror.  He also is one of the people who feeds Glenn Beck information on his GBTV network where he also is a guest and provides in-studio analysis and investigative reports.  His book, "The Terrorist Next Door:  How the Government is Deceiving You About the Islamist Threat" came out on May 2, 2011.  His articles have appeared in Wall Street Journal Europe, Weekly Standard, Washington Times, New York Post, Jerusalem Post, and National Review Online among others. He was an excellent speaker.

The first thing that happened before he even arrived was that last Thursday someone put a swastika over a Star of David on a poster advertising his coming appearance. There are some Jewish students attending Portland State who of course are filled with dread when they see things like this, at least all did except one mouthy gal who yelled at us all who must have been a relative of Finkelstein.   Then every poster of advertising his coming was torn down.  They called him a " racist and islamophobic."  The Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights and AUPHR had organized well.

Josh Ahrens, former president  of CUFI on Campus at PSU introduced him.  He hoped that the audience would notice a difference between love of the pro-Israel movement and the intimidation tactics of the anti-Israel activists.  I sure did.  Right on the dot at 7:35pm a whole group of protesters with their mouths taped shut with bright colored tape walked in as a group.  They had organized a "silent protest."

Erick told the audience the facts of life about Hezbollah, terrorist group from Iran, who have rockets and missiles now that can reach all of Israel.  They continually compare Israel to Nazis and people buy into that concept.  At 8:00pm the silent protesters all stood up together as one and left the room.  Erick had told them he welcomed honest debate, but not name calling.  They really didn't come to hear facts, only to protest anyone standing up for Israel.

Erick continued with his presentation.  He was in Israel, as he is an investigative  journalist, and saw the rockets that had been collected that were shot into southern Israel from Gaza.  Many of course had Arabic writing found on them.  Then there were others with another type of script.  It turned out that the writing was in Farsi- the writing from Iran.  What is happening is that terrorists are receiving ammunition from Iran

Then there's Jordan which is becoming more hostile with a king who is losing control.  Erick recalled seeing both the USA flag and Israel's together on the ground being trampled by the Jordanians.

 How about the 9,000 people already killed in the Syrian unrest?  This Arab Spring is more like an Arab winter.  The regime of Mubarak may not have been terrific, but what looks like the replacement is far worse, for the Muslim Brotherhood has a charter that is absolutely scary, and this happens to also be in the Hamas charter as well. The Muslim Brotherhood is gaining a foothold everywhere, led by Qaradawi, religious leader in Qatar who follows the rule that all Jews everywhere must be killed.  This wouldn't shake me up so much except that the Muslim Brotherhood is welcomed in our White House and touted as a moderate.  What is one man's moderate is another man's awaiting killer, panting for the chance.

 Then there's the old saying from Iran that America is the Big Satan and Israel is the Little Satan.  Erick isn't being cruel or nasty in telling us what has been going on.  One young gal in the front row couldn't take it and thought he was being very mean and hurting the Muslims in the audience's feelings.  She just couldn't understand how he could say these things.  If he were telling lies, that would be different, but what he said tonight I have already said in my blogs in relating the news of the day for a long time now.  For me and others who follow events, most of this was "old hat."  Evidently our protesters don't care.

Maybe Americans will wake up to the realities of our threatened country when they realize that ICBM's that could be nuclear-tipped and will soon be able to reach the East Coast .  Terrorists are known to be trying to target our USA infrastructure.  Iran can  reach to 3 miles from New York City right now.  Iranian terrorists have tried to assassinate the ambassadors of Israel and Saudi Arabia right in Washington D.C.

Something I've written about before was finally mentioned.  Iran is really into the bringing about  their Moshiah and they are doing everything to bring in this 12th Imam.  The more havoc they can make, the closer he is getting.  He had gotten into the bottom of a well, and this will bring him up and then they will conquer the world .

Iran and terrorists have been getting very cozy with some of the South American leaders.  This can give them an opportunity to place their missiles so that they can reach all parts of the USA.  This is figured out from meetings that have been going on between leaders, but also from tunnels along the Mexican border that have been found.  They are so similar to ones in Gaza and from Hezbollah.

Lastly, the Muslim Brotherhood is operating in the United States, maybe much like Communist cells were many years ago.  In Northern Virginia in a sub basement, documents were found.  They would really like us all to be under their law, Sharia, which is not consistent with our USA Democratic laws.  Since this is America, one really must follow our laws when living here.  After all, isn't this why our soldiers have died since 1776?

So tonight we witnessed the extreme left teaming up with the extreme right, and they don't seem to mind a bit as long as the scapegoat is Israel and all the Jews.  It's not just the Jews living in Israel, who amount to almost the same number who died in the Holocaust, but everywhere.  Americans, too, no matter what religion they happen to be that isn't Islam, are also targeted.  After such depressing news given in an overly warm ballroom, we have one uplifting thought.  Read Ezekiel and find out that in the end, it will turn out all right.  Believers know that G-d is going to step in this mess.  It's going to take just that.  It's looking pretty sad to me.

A Connection Between Qatar Foundation and DAM hip-hop and Terrorism

Lincoln High is very happy that the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, established in 1995 by the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa, and now chaired by his 3rd wife, Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned., has sent them an Arabic language teacher, and it most likely isn’t costing them a penny, plus it gives them the distinguished fact of offering Arabic in their high School.

It’s fine to study Arabic. In Israel, students take Hebrew just like we study English, but besides that they also take English, and have a choice between Arabic and French. I saw Arab and Jewish students helping each other out with their homework in Safed’s junior high. If you live in Israel, you find that Arabic is most helpful to know since there are 1.4 million Arab citizens of Israel. All street signs are in Hebrew, Arabic and English.

Three Palestinan Israeli citizens, however, have formed a hip-hop group called DAM, and are using this talent that they learned from Jewish rappers and were encouraged by Jewish friends when younger, who are now telling listeners to damn Israel and their lyrics promote terrorism and the destruction of Israel.

They have been on Al-Jazeera’s TV program, who have promoted and backed them. This Palestinian hip-hop group from Lod, Israel, now is stating that Lod is in Palestine, not Israel. The brothers Tamar and Suhell Nafar plus their friend, Mahmoud Jreri, relate about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and poverty. This is what  rapping does, complain about conditions.  Their lyrics often deal with the frustration at the feeling of being 2nd class citizens in Israel and other issues, including drug-related violence.  The group's live performances feature images of Israeli soldiers clashing with stone-throwing Palestinians.  These men are telling outright  lies in many cases.  They rap in English, of course as well as Arabic, so Qatar Foundation, who sent the teacher over here, is indirectly responsible for her bringing in this DAM hip-hop group as well. Actually, Al-Jazeera is owned by the state of Qatar and headquartered in Doha, Qatar. It gained worldwide attention following the 9/11/attacks as it was the only channel to cover the war in Afghanistan live from its offices there. They’re known for their slanted coverage favoring the Hamas terrorists in Gaza. I’ve also personally seen horrid children’s shows on this station teaching little Arab children to hate Israel.

In February 2009, Israel imposed sanctions on Al Jazeera after Qatar closed the Israeli trade office in Doha in protest to the Gaza War. Israel was almost to the point of declaring Al Jazeera a hostile entity and shutting down its Israel offices, but instead imposed limited measures to restrict their activities in the country. In 2011 the TV stations Afghanistan bureau chief, Samer Allawi, was arrested on charges of being a member of Hamas. Al-Jazeera hosted a conference on religion, sponsored by the Emir, where Israel was criticized. Israel has also banned all activity by the Qatar Foundation. The Foundation has promoted such attitudes shown by writer Jihad el-Khazen, that "Israelis are immigrants to Palestine, descended from murderers and thieves, while the Qataris are sheikhs from a family that has ruled its country for hundreds of years."

The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has a Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies. They have instituted the Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi Scholarships. It also named its newly established research center "The Qaradawi Center for Islamic Moderation and Renewal after him. This sheik is a religious leader in the foundation who is a bigwhig in the Muslim Brotherhood. He was from Egypt, but was thrown out because of that and so he moved to Qater, where the Emir loves him.

He is famous for his speeches on Al Jazeera TV, and writings that give consistent support of terrorist groups that seek to undermine a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. No doubt this is one reason why Abbas has refused for so long to sit down and talk peace terms with Netanyahu. He has expressed his desire to see Jerusalem conquered, and on January 24, 2011, gave a fatwa where he negated Jewish attachment to Jerusalem and stated that it is the duty of Muslims to "defend" Jerusalem with their lives, money and all they possess or else they will be subject to Allah’s punishment." This is but one fatwa inciting violence against Jews and Israel. On Al Jazeera TV January 28, 2009, he said that he would shoot Allah’s enemies, the Jews, .....where he would give his life in martyrdom. In another on January 9, 2009, he lashed out at Jews, including calling on G-d to "kill them," down to the very last one." This evil man endorses Palestinian suicide bombings against Israeli civilians. He chastises Muslims who do not observe jihad as an obligatory duty. His people are told that the "Zionist massacres of today" are a continuation of alleged Jewish calls to genocide in the Old Testament. It sounds to me like tit for tat, what happened 4 thousand years ago to the Hittites is the reason why they can go after Jews today.

Out of Qatar’s foundation is an umbrella organization for Hamas and Muslim brotherhood-affiliated Islamic charity funds called The Union of Good. The chairman is Sheikh Yousef Moustafa Al Qaradhawi. It is a Charity Coalition and was started in May 2001 due to the 2nd Intifadah. Hamas has also taken over the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development since the early 90's. The Union of Good coordinates all of Hamas-supporting funding activities.

Sheikh Al-Qaradawi has been barred from entering the US since 1999. From February 2008 he was barred from entering the UK.. He is most grateful to the Emir for including him in his plans in Qatar as he knows the Americans were ready to put him on a list of terrorists, but the Emir stood fast courageously, pitting his determination against theirs, and as a result he has stayed off the list. It was announced that the Center will create a library of Qaradawi’s works as well as articles about him. They will also train preachers and imams and translate books on Islam to reach out to Western readers, (maybe like the high schoolers at Lincoln?) His Al-Qaradawi Center will serve as a think tank and offer advice on issues important to the Islamic nation. They will help reach on-Muslims the truth about Islam, in addition to disseminating a proper understanding of Islam and its values. In the past, he called for the Islamic conquest of Rome, and this spring he made more negative headlines in Europe.

With such a background and reputation, Hillary Clinton participated in an official al-Jazeersa town hall interview at Carnegie Mellon U’s branch campus in Qatar’s Education City and was introduced by Sheikh Abdallah Aal-Thani, and she responded favorably about all she had heard about the progress of Education City. Just a short walk from this CMU branch is the Al-Qaradawi Centre for Research in Moderate Thought. The Foundation has established branches not only at Carnegie Mellon, but Northwestern U., Texas A &M, Georgetown , Virginia Commonwealth U, Cornell Medical College, and Rand Corporation’s Education City branch. In 2008, 122 students graduated from these Education City branches.  Sheikh Qaradawi attended where they announced the establishment of his Al-Qaradawi Centre for Research in Modern Thought. 

Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi is Qatar Foundation’s Theologian of Terror. The Foundation and all the good it might be doing is a front for Hamas who is to destroy Israel and remake it into Palestine. This man is spouting words like Hitler did. His words reach the American public via satellite TV and the internet such as IslamOnline which is in Arabic and English. It supports violence against non-Muslims as well as anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and anti-American content. Now we see an inroad through hip-hop artists and their in-person appearances. After the assembly for DOM, in which students were given extra-credit for attending, one girl was heard to shout, "Oh, my G-d, I hate Israel! It so sucks."

Here in Portland, Oregon we have Lincoln High School with the staff and school board insensitive and noncaring about what they have introduced into their schools and what havoc it is causing in their Jewish students. They all feel that this is a matter of "freedom of speech.", which it isn't.  We feel it's a matter of content that is spouting hatred and terrorism.   Look what Hitler’s speeches caused. Death to Jews. Well, Sheik Qaradawi intends to do a better job than he did. In his speeches he has said so. "Oh Allah, take this oppressive, Jewish, Zionist band of people...do not spare a single one of them. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them, down to the very last one." He "supports the Palestinian cause, the resistance and the jihad, Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah. He opposes a much needed peace that Israel and America wish to bring about. This peace to him is an illusion, so he supports martyrdom operations."  Evidently there are no homosexual students attending Lincoln as he said that the punishment of homosexuality is the death penalty. What kind off material will these students soon be reading in Arabic, by the way?

Gilad Shalit's Release: Trading Terrorists for Young Soldier

About 6 years ago, a 19 year old soldier, Gilad Shalit, was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists.  Israel didn't know if he was alive or dead.  Nobody like the Red Cross could get to him.

Finally a deal has been made and Israel is trading 1,027 Hamas prisoners for Gilad.  Included in the terrorist's number are some 450 terrorists who had murdered Israelis. 

Netanyahu must have had nightmares over making this decision, as it releases potential killers again to be able to strike civilians.  The value of life to Jews is immense, whereas life is cheap to our enemies, considering how quick they are to become walking bombs, or how quickly their parents are ready to sacrifice them for political gains.  Like Golda Meier stated, "when the Arabs love their children as much as we love ours, then there is a chance for peace".  Netanyahu knows that there has been so much pressure put on his government to get Gilad free that he must do this even though logic may argue.

Gilad has been handed over to Egypt by Hamas by having been driven through the Rafah crossing in a black car.  He's not in Israel yet. 

Of course Hamas thinks this is a big victory over Israel and now feel that kidnapping is a working plan.  Moshe Yaalon of Israel said he felt the deal was a "capitulation to terror" which could result in hundreds of murdered Israelis in the years to come.  Hamas "proudly summarized the day and said Israel had promised peace, while they had promised terrorism." I ask how they can be proud of themselves as a people for thinking that.

William Jefferson "Bill"  Clinton's  campaigning for presidency brought him to speak before  Jewish groups.  He told them that "his beloved pastor made him swear on his deathbed never to turn his back on the Jewish state."  This made these Jewish Democrats feel that he was the best friend Israel has ever had.  Later Clinton put together the Oslo Agreement with Israel's most liberal prime minister, Yitzhak Rabin,  who was quite ready to give away the baby with the bathwater in order to bring about a peace document. Arafat, the PLO terrorist head was the other party.  On a Sunday Clinton was asked by CNN "whether the burden for getting back to negotiations lay on one side or the other, Clinton offered,  "I can't really say more than that it's a troubling, difficult and painful situation, and we've got to find a way to end the violence....there has to be a dramatic reduction in the violence before parties can talk again and make commitments again that could constitue a peace agreement."  He inferring that both sides are equally responsible for 'the cycle of violence."  In fact, the terrorists in Gaza do the act and Israel finally reacts, catching all heck for doing so.  This is a repeat of what's happening right now; the violence is being committed by Hamas, the replacement for Arafat's violent Fatah group yet Israel is attacked by the world for retaliating against missile and mortar attacks on their civilians.  This shows that the US has been refusing to call aggression and terrorism by their name.  Israeli and Palestinian blood flowed then as it is flowing now. 

"We all know that Barak Hussain Obama  is a Christian, but the church he has been attending is the Trinity United Church of Christ, and their Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a supporter of Louis Farrakhan. In 1984 Farrakhan and Wright traveled to visit Col. Muammar al-Gadaffi, who is a supporter of terror groups and arch-enemy of Israel and America. Wright has been a severe critic of Israel. Obama's former pastor and mentor, being a fan of Louis Farrakhan, who called Judaism either "a dirty religion" or "a gutter religion," depending on the reading of the audiotape, causes concern. Obama had publicly distanced himself from Wright when he was in the presidential race.  Before the race he had also attended Farrakhan's church as well.  Jesse Jackson is also a pastor and friend.  Calling New York Jews "Hymietown" did not endear him to the Jewish population with this deragatory term.  Farrakhan was so angry about the Jewish response when they heard about this that he threatened Jews by saying" if you harm this brother it'll be the last you ever harm."  He later said that Jews today were false Jews (only recognized the extreme orthodox Karta sect who do not recognize Israel) and that they promoted lesbianism and homosexuality, and manipulated Bush and his government about Iraq.  Truly, since President Obama had a Muslim father and stepfather and was raised in Muslim schools in his early elementary school years, and chose anti-semitic pastors to listen to for years causes me to wonder about his sincerity about being fair in dealing with Israel and the Muslim Arabs.  Since Obama was elected as President he has not attended his church.  Wright told the Daily Press at Hampton University's Ministers Conference, "Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me."   Wright admitted that he has been preaching like that for the past 50 years.   Obama's AIPAC speech  on March 2, 2007 included promises of supporting a strong US-Israel partnership, and Israel's right of self-defense.  He promised taking seriously Iran's nuclear future power and that it could be used against Israel.  He promised an undivided Jerusalem.  Now he is advising Israel to go back to the 67 indefensible lines and that East Jerusalem's fate  is to be determined in talking with Assad as a barter chip in negotiations.  Unfortunately, he did not attend a church that said positive things about Israel.  Right now Israel's fate with the UN lies in Obama's veto of Assad's attempt on September 22nd to have Palestine be declared a state.  Here's where the promises at AIPAC need to show some type of fullfillment.  He chose David Edward Bonier as an advisor who is an Israel basher.  That doesn't help our cause at all. 

The head religious leader in Iran is Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who calls Israel "a cancerous state.  The fake Zionist goverment is a cancerous tumor and the cause of different disease and political, economic calamity to the region."  The USA is accused of preserving this tumor.  He continued with saying that years of wrongdoing had only given rise to hatred in the region.  I suppose he's referring to the establishment of Israel.  Israel's worst enemy is Iran who as calledi Israel every name under the sun and is threatening its extinction. 

James  "Jimmy" Earl Carter Jr., President and Georgian peanut farmer was a Sunday School Teacher and very involved with his Christian religion.  He said his favorite sermon was "If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?  He seemed to be for a state of Israel but was against everything they did.  He did a terrible amount of damage to Israel by writing his opinions in his book "Palestine:  Peace Not apartheid" and in this book insinuated that Israel was practicing apartheid like South Africa did, which is the opposite of the truth.  Today this is one of Israel's biggest problems in that religious groups such as the Presbyterians,  Methodists and Socialists have denoucced Israel as being apartheid and are boycotting and divesting from Israel.  Israel, the smallest melting pot in the world is the opposite of an apartheid country so this shows the power of the attitude a group will take without investigating its honesty as long as it comes from an influential party.  Checking on the reliability of an opinion takes work that the general public is not up to doing. 

Harry S. Truman was a devout Christian but was affected more by his business partner in his attitude toward Israel. He also taught Sunday school with Bess at First Presbyterian Church on Lexington and Pleasant Street, Independence, MO though they were both Southern Baptists.     Had he not had a good relationship with his Jewish partner, Jacobson,  in their Haberdashery store, he might not have affected Harry in  recognizing Israel, which those around him preferred him not to do.  Harry was strong in his feeling and went against the advice he was given and did recognize Israel.  He had given his word that he would do so.  Undoubtedly his religious background formed his feelings about keeping his word when given.  He was the president who coined the phrase, "The buck stops here,  and If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."   This gentle man had to make decisions most men would  blanch from doing. He took such responsibility  as being the deciding factor in recognizing Israel and in the use of the A bomb in Japan.  Usually he was a man who relied on his cabinet for decisions.   Before this his major decisions must have been like how many hats to order for his store.  He had stepped up to the plate graciously. 

In writing this essay I stumbled onto a book titled, "American Presidents, Religion and Israel-The Heirs of Cyrus" by Paul Merkley $55.  Another person also thought it was interesting in looking into our presidents and they take on Israel.  I'm taking the theory of their relgious leaders and associates in having an affect in forming their attitude about Israel, for Israel brings up religious values that helped to shape Christianity and Islam.

Truman's Backing Israel Pays Dividends

Joe Biden told Israel two years ago to get over Iran's having nuclear power, which shows no understanding at all of the danger this puts Israel in, since its president has sworn to wipe Israel off the map. In 1982 Biden threatened Prime Minister Begin to cut off aid to Israel because of Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria that were being built. Begin told him that America cannot impose what we must or must not do. Truman backed the need for Israel in 1948 and this seems like a miracle now, with the sullen attitudes of Americans who are not familiar with the benefits of having Israel in their midst.

Israel alone in the Middle East has its main ties with the US. This is shown by voting in the UN with the USA. It has helped the US security. Without Israel, Washington would have to have aircraft carriers and tens of thousands of American servicemen in the eastern side of the Mediterranean to protect the USA. This would cost tens of billions of dollars each year.

By it's commerical enterprises, Israel has a high tech industry that has developed the most advanced microprocessors, chips, window operating systems, voice mail, instant messaging and cellular technologies, coding and decoding devices, medical implements and pharmaceuticals. Most of these have been melded into the US industry, helping us to live more comfortably, and giving us a competitive edge by helping to increase our working Americans with jobs.

US Military systems have been upgraded by help from Israel's war-proven experience. F-16 includes more than 600 Israeli modifications. This saved US mega-billion dollars and many years of research and development. Our USA military systems are due to Israel's developments which in turn is why many countries choose to buy American products.

Israel has had more experience than any country in fighting terrorism, car bombs, explosive devices like IED's, and homocide bombings and has shared their findings with US troops on their way to Iraq and Afghanistan and also with US homeland security agencies. In this way Israel has helped to reduce our losses and keep terrorism on US soil from happening.

Israel is a net producer, not a net consumer of national security. It's been a two-way street. Israel has not only paid back loans, but is now in a position of aiding America in so many of these ways. Don't ever think that backing Israel has been a mistake. It's to America's credit that they performed a good deed by helping a deserving country to be born again, whose only desire is to perform good deeds themselves, and naturally, to live in freedom and peace.

Iran is Dangerous

Most of today's letters in the Oregonian about Iran show little knowledge about what's happening there. Some letters were questioning our right to expect other countries like Iran to not have nuclear weapons when we have so much of it.

Iran has the main training camp near Isfahan for terrorists from Iraq, Afghanistan, Baluchistan, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. The training staff are teaching how to sabatage strategic targets like routes, bridges and military installations, and in activating roadside bombs (EFPs which had deadly effects on American troops in Iraq. They also have munitions factories that send missiles and bombs to these places.

Just today Ahmadinejad said "Israel would soon disappear off the map and that the "satanic power" of the United States faced destruction" when speaking to foreign guests marking the week's 19th anniversary of the death of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1989.

One letter believed the 2003 report that Iran had ended its nuclear weapons program already and is not doing anything illegal and is not threatening anyone with it. They believe it's a misquote that Iran threatened to wipe Israel off the map!

Two days ago their defense minister Gen. Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar warned us: "Iran's Armed forces are fully prepared to counter any military attack with any intensity..they will make the enemy regret initiating any such incursions."

Iran is very close to having atomic weapons. That's the worry.They have made threats repeatedly and could carry them out. I've read that they are only about three months away from having their weapons.

Is Palestinian Terrorism a Righteous Act?

Why are so many Palestinians practicing terrorism against Israel? Is poverty an excuse? Amnesty International published a study that condemned all attacks and said that no Israeli action justified them. They are committing crimes against humanity under international law.

This terrorism that has been happening is not the result of occupation. If they suffer from discontent, they could negotiate, but under Hamas this is not happening. Israel in the past has gone along with trading land for peace, but is not about to trade land for continued terror.

Many terrorists are not practicing terrorism from the point of view of poverty or feeling they have a hopeless future. Osama bin Laden is a Saudi millionaire. I see his actions as one of seeking power over the world. He's at his happiest plotting and scheming to blow up his enemies. Living in luxury, which he could be doing, does not sate his pleasure centers.

Another terrorist who killed the 8 school boys and wounded 15 others in Jerusalem was the school's driver. He was happily engaged to be married, came from a comfortable family, and lived in an East Jerusalem village. He had all the same social and welfare benefits as other Israeli citizens. He was not driven to this terroristic act out of living under occupation. I think his personality was that of a follower, and he was suckered into his actions from peer pressure and propaganda. He was in the position of being able to do it, and felt no compulsion or conscience not to kill.

We're facing a group of people who are ready to sacrifice their own children to gain a political end. Children are either encouraged by their parents to be in harm's way during warfare, for the value propaganda can milk from it or are put there by their fellow terrorists hiding in their midst. Actually, the children are being used either way. Their lives don't count with their own people.

In the year 2000 there was no economic depression facing the Palestinians. This is when this new violence really started. Then in 2001 we have 9/11 in New York. It was a time of terrorism in the world.

There will be no giving into a group who uses terrorism as pressure to gain their goals. How will the next American president face this when the American goal is to bring about a Palestinian state next door to Israel? How will they ever change their attitudes and practices? Perhaps they've never heard of Martin Luther King. Somehow this president will have to teach them that terrorism is not a righteous act.
